Music Packs
Archive: 23 posts
I really think the music in LittleBigPlanet is getting old. The soundtrack is great, but I think we need something new. It would be really cool if they started selling music packs, with mainly music (and maybe a few stickers ). It would open alot of possibilities, from music from other games to music from bands. I think this would be pretty awesome! What do you guys think? | 2009-07-16 01:27:00 Author: Frinklebumper Posts: 941 |
I do support this. I'd specially support more interactive music, but any new track it's welcome. It's not that there isn't enough music, it's just that we've heard it too many times :/ Good suggestion! | 2009-07-16 01:40:00 Author: Keldur Posts: 628 |
I want a musical instrument pack that would give us more music sound effects. | 2009-07-16 02:06:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
Yes to more music; yes to more interactive music, yes to more instruments to make your own music. Just yes, I guess. | 2009-07-16 13:01:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
To my mind, any non-interactive tracks get old very fast. The interactive ones are great though, I only realised the other day you can seamlessly shift the levels on them during play without a pause in between. Seeing as most of them can be used to create lots of different moods, this makes that feature an absolute winner. That said, more interactive music would still be awesome. And more sounds in general, there just aren't enough sounds in this game! So my vote is for general sound packs, featuring a new speaker and 1 or two new int musics. | 2009-07-16 13:09:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
What we have to remember is Mm have one sound man - Kenny. Think how much work he has to do already! But I would love to see a wider range of music tracks and sounds in LBP. I just think its a lot of work for one man. | 2009-07-16 14:11:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
I think getting the music right in a level is incredibly important so i'd love to see more of it to choose from | 2009-07-16 14:27:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |

I just think its a lot of work for one man. Most of the tracks though are from other artists or games (Metal Gear Solid). Does he do the interactive tracks and sound effects? | 2009-07-16 14:44:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
Well who else would? | 2009-07-16 15:07:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
Yeah but how much has he produced in 2009. Monsters sounds and ico pack... I don't know what exactly it involves, so I could be being very naive here... but that doesn't seem like 6 months work to me. | 2009-07-16 15:56:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Yeah, although with Mm's small staff the idea is quite unrealistic, music packs and sound effect packs would be very nice. Especially if it had interactive songs. | 2009-07-16 18:46:00 Author: lk9988 Posts: 1077 |
I'm still pushing my idea that we should be allowed to record sound clips of up to 5 seconds through the PSEye or a Bluetooth headset. This wouldn't fix the music issue, but it could be used to potentially create our own music. 5 second clips would hopefully prevent server clutter and copyright issues, but still allow for a good deal of flexibility. | 2009-07-16 18:49:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
No make your own music. Think of the stuff that could be said. | 2009-07-16 20:20:00 Author: Adam9001 Posts: 744 |
I agree I think there should be more music packs but I don't think there should be import or anything like that *someone blasts out heavy metal* that is why | 2009-07-18 04:41:00 Author: novakidx Posts: 8 |

*someone blasts out heavy metal* that is why What's wrong with that!?! A five second recording limit is a good idea - i'd be able to record notes on my guitar. I could also record sounds from my keyboard - which has like 500 instruments/effects programed into it! | 2009-07-18 16:37:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
Yes, but wouldn't the sound quality be awful? I'm all for more music and sound effect packs. | 2009-07-18 16:43:00 Author: Arkei Posts: 1432 |
It could be 6 months of ideas though. I wish I could get paid just for sitting around having ideas! Are you saying that in 6 months He only came up with a couple of ideas, or in six months he came up with loads of ideas but most were just to bad produce? Either way, it's not very impressive! | 2009-07-18 17:31:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
What we have to remember is Mm have one sound man - Kenny. Think how much work he has to do already! But I would love to see a wider range of music tracks and sounds in LBP. I just think its a lot of work for one man. Well.. only if he has another job and plays lots of gigs per week. Writing music and recording can be horribly time consuming to get it right, but in 6 months I know I would have had quite a few new interactive packs by now. In fact.. I think he needs my help.. what's his number? ..however to go back on topic, I would love a some new interactive music tracks as well as some more sounds. ..and to comment on the import music. While it would be cool to do some sort of import music feature, that would be the same issue with uploading images.. While some of us might have recording equipment, the instruments, and the talent to pull it off quite well, someone else could just as easily pull music from a cd or ripped from the internet. ...that's why that probably would never happen. | 2009-07-18 18:35:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
No make your own music. Think of the stuff that could be said. And all the copyright related "Good Griefs" there would be. | 2009-07-18 19:28:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
In the old video leak of features that we got in the creator pack, with the infinite checkpoints an whatnot... there was footage of song title and artist name pop ups. There was a huge complaint about implementing this feature because it was said to be something that would detract from immersion and aesthetics. I think that it would have been a great opportunity to create a platform that would interest relatively unknown artists to license their music to the game. Of course, we don't need hit singles and pop music from corporate America ransacking LBP for all it's worth, or songs from "my favorite bands that rock" along with established acts trying to mesh with the soundstyle of LBP that's already been set in place. Everything must be relatively repetitive, easy to chop into a small loop, and mostly instrumental. What I do think would be fair game, is public domain music, that has no copyrights... and like rtm said, the music boxes that are tracked out with adjustable levels are way better and have much more mileage. What we really need is for MM to pay deboerdave to continue reiterating his music following system and play tracking, and produce weekly tracks for everyone to use | 2009-07-18 22:22:00 Author: Unknown User |
Music packs would obviously be great, but I gave up hope on them a long time ago. They wouldn't even include one song from Shadow of the Colossus in the SOTC pack. | 2009-07-19 02:17:00 Author: Reef1978 Posts: 527 |
More Interactive music and sound objects is a definite must. It would support stage evolution, and provide much needed variation. I'm RickRock_777, and I would buy this pack...today...right now! Rick | 2009-07-19 05:28:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
