This is my second level! I tweeked this one to have more hidden surprises, more bubbles, and new objects.

This time I won't give away all the secrets! There is a X2 section, with two bonus areas if you find them. Another Sticker with Massive Bubbles! Plus, be warned of the swinging roses, they bite! But if you can swing unscathed, then you win the rose!

Obviously, the big jump between AG1 and AG2 is the introduction of custom objects like the rose and the background trees. The roses are very original, and I've never seen a partly-lethal swinging tool.

You also introduced a more-or-less arbitrary introductory drag race. I've obviously got no problem with hot whips (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/biggamesweekend/getinvolved/index.shtml), but I was wondering why I happened to be driving them just then.

I actually found nothing broken in this level. I can walk behind a set piece, but it doesn't let me cheat, and I can't get stuck.

Rather than try too hard to talk about what I'd change in this level, I'd rather suggest we get something going for you on a more "wholly original" basis. To me, this means storyboarding:

1. Devise core concept. Are you a jetpack sort? Like paint? Contraptions? Run/Jump/Swing enthusiast? My Lone Ninja series is almost entirely contraptions, for instance: Some of the jumps are tough, but the key focus is grabbing bad guys and watching ridiculous things happen to them. Anyway, once you decide on the player's "move set" (the things he'll be doing the most), that will determine which settings and backgrounds and stories can contain that play.

2. Palette. Turn on small grid in a blank level, then start making blocks of EVERYTHING. Just blocks. Set the blocks next to each other, then shine a bunch of lights on them, hit 'em with stickers. Pick two of each material type, delete the rest, then use ONLY those materials. Saves thermo, makes you look more like you're doing things on purpose. And texture is more important than color in materials - anything can be sticker-painted.

3. Lay out activities. If you look at AG2, you'll see that you can count each type of "doing stuff" into sections. Count those sections up, then come up with a new order of action, but with roughly the same number of sections. That's a good way of planning for thermo ahead of time.

4. Build "alphas" in sections. My Angry Demon Samurai were born in a blank level: I built a bunch of stuff, and used the one that turned out the best. Same goes for everything else, scenic or otherwise. Build, save, schlep into level, beat thermometer with a stick until it obeys.

Hello coyote_blue,

Thanks for all the great advice once again! I'm glad you liked the roses! I did too! I origianally had them upright and moving, but I couldn't get them to maintain without breaking or move the way I wanted them too so I came up with the swinging version until I could get it fixed. I'm going to try for a giant rose bush boss for the final episode in the series. Let's see how that's going to turn out... I might have to reconsider.

The cars were merely to get you from here to there without killing the thermometer, it was already pretty full then, but now it is borderline maxed. What's a hot whip anyway?

Did you find all the secret areas?

It's a reference to the video I linked... where two Sackboys with BBC Radio 1's announcers' voices get in an argument.

"Whip" is a circa-2004, Florida slang word for a car, because a car can "whip" you around from place to place. The "hot whip" in the linked video is not stolen, so in this case "hot" means "very desirable".
