Royal Rumble Survival Challenge

Royal Rumble Survival Challengeamblaze
This my first attempt at a mini-game/survival challenge. I kept the challenge as simple as I could. The challenge is to stay alive while inside a ring while it sways back and forth. Location: near Florida, U.S.

Sup everybody,

My goal with this one is to try to increase my creator XP, so i thought making a survival challenge would help me learn new stuff. I didn't try to do anything special as this my first shot at this type, so its pretty basic.

Basically, you have to survive as long as you can inside the ring as it rocks back and forth. You have to avoid a fire patch that lays in the middle of the ring as well. As time goes by the ropes at each side of the ring that keep you in it will disappear.

Hope you guys can help me out with this one. I want to know if the challenge itself is fair and or if it works. I'm sure it may need tweaking, so i need feedback to make this work.

Also any comments and suggestions on my Sack-A-Mania level are welcome. The reason i didnt make a level thread for this level is for fear of criticism for various reasons. Fortunatley for me, its been recieved well.

I will give feedback to anyone that requests it.

Hey nice work, this was fun!

The ropes slowly disappearing is a great idea, and it's done well. The only thing I would suggest difficulty wise, is the longer someone survives the more opportunity there should be for points.

If you could drop more points bubbles in at later stages this would be more rewarding for players, and they're more likely to come back again and again to do better.
Also the start button device and the rocks that fall late in the level are lacking in colour, makes it looks a bit tacky. A splash of colour is always good!

Shame you can't drop some steel chairs really, lol. Overall very well made and a fun experience. Something I would play with my friends for sure, so I gave it :star::star::star::star::star: and hearted it.

Please give feedback on one of the levels in my signature mate, cheers!

Yeah, this a pretty good idea i agree with. I think i can simply just add more emitters.

Ok, i decided to try your Wheel of Doom! survival challenge. It was pretty good. It was simple but fun to play. I restarted like 5 times, which is a good sign with survival games. Just when i start to get a rythym(?) i die and think "ok i can do better".

The wheel speed i think was perfect. It didnt become too fast too soon. I didnt get too far but i think the the challenge was fair and fun, and with some commitment i could get a high score.

The only negative i found were the visuals. It was a little bland, and i didnt like the materials you chose. I probably would have gone with a mix of metals, woods or stone painted completely (stickered) red. But thats what i would have chosen, however since i dont know your tastes i cant make a strong suggestion. I will tell you to just mess around with material changer till you see something that looks more interesting.

Overall, you did a good job on this. Testing out my own survival challenge allows me to see the work you put into this. Its not as easy as I used to think.

Gonna check this out when I get home!

Suggestion - post your review of LieutenantFatman's level to his thread (that way it will bump his thread up and people will see the feedback).

This was a very cool minu game to go alongside your Sack-A-Mania level. I loved the "arena" with the small wrestling ring and the wrestler holding it. He did look a bit constipated more than angry or intense though! Of course, that just made me laugh!

As for the gameplay, I thought it was really fun and the rise in difficult and the ropes disappearing all worked really well. I did think that the fire in the middle (and the jungle theme with the cloumns, was a little out of place. I thought I was gonna be against other wrestlers who would try and knock me out of the ring like in the real royal rumble.

But, I'm not sure how that would work, and I still had a lot of fun with yours. Good job!

Yeah i agree with the constipated look thing. The crease stickers give it that South Park quality which always looks funny. I always get caught in between making realistic looking people or cartoonish ones.

Initially, i didnt want a fire or any obstacle in the ring--just the ring. But while i was testing it felt too easy, because i could stand in the middle and not move. So i had to make that sacrafice for gameplay.

The Royal Rumble name is a little deceptive too i guess. I was also thinking of doing something like eliminating wrestlers, but the concept i came up with was way too complicated for me to even try. I just wanted to do something really simple and less time consuming.

CC, thanks for the suggestion. That sounds like the courteous thing to do. I'll give the feedback in other people's threads from now on.

Ok, I played this. I thought this was very cool and inventive. I enjoy a level that throws me around and creates some frenetic fun.

Just when I thought I was doing good and things were getting really crazy.... one little bump pretty much threw me completely out of the screen and killed me.

One side of me wanted to say "HEY! THAT wasn't fair" but the other side of me wanted to say "Wow! That was pretty cool!".

This was definately a survival worth playing.
