Elevators, speed, and more than 1 player.

Hello people. I made an elevator recently, but i'd like it to go really fast. The problem is, when more than one player enters the elevator and doesn't grab the switch, and the elevators goes downward, the second player is launched out of the elevator and is stuck up on the floor where the elevator was. I've tried attached glass to it, making two panes of glass that rotate with a sensor switch and two wobble bolts, but they both didn't work, because the player got launched higher than the glass pane. I guess i could place a platform above the elevator, about the height of a sackboy, so that they don't get launched upward? | 2009-07-14 09:49:00 Author: robbit10 Posts: 450 |
The two solutions I can think of is either make the elevator roof thicker or lower the speed. From what it sounds like the physics engine can't handle the speed of Sacky and the thickness of the material and just sends Sacky straight through it. | 2009-07-14 10:25:00 Author: adlingtont Posts: 321 |
You could make the grab switch a "require all". Or you could move the elevator in two stages (Only down? or do you need it work properly in both directions?). Make your piston two stages like an AND gate. The first, rather short stage moves slower, but gets sackboy past the point where he'll be thrown out, then a mag key on the elevator itself triggers the longer, faster second stage.
