Sphere like vehicle kills sackboy?

I've constructed a sphere like vehicle for my new level "Be The Beat" and the only issue is that the sphere kills the sackboy at some points due to it crushing the little critter. I cant find a solution to this problem other then making the vehicle ginormous which I don't want as it would completely cripple the level even further.

The vehicle kills the sackboy because the sackboy becomes translucent and fall through the vehicle as it spins thus smashing him.

Any solutions?

As long as I can remember, small circles with rockets attached always have killed me, and I have no idea how to fix it...

I think it has to do with the thickness of the circle, speed and lag, since whenever it happens I flash and appears outside the circle, still holding on to the inside, then I die. The level I'm working on at the moment (Stationary) has a part where a flipper shoots you forward and into a loop. Originally I had it shooting you much faster, but it would result in you hitting the loop, then mystically teleporting through it and flying to the floor. In the end I had to slow the flipper down.

I see you used my idea for the new sphere but you say it's still killing him.

It is weird how sackboy's head goes through everything. That must be the problem. As far as I'm aware it happens with every material.

The only other thing I could suggest to try and combat this is to make the side walls thick enough so that his head doesn't go right through. I guess to do that while keeping the outside diameter the same you'd just have to shrink the inner diameter to the smallest you can while still allowing sackboy to get in and out ok.

If Sackboy travels to fast into an object then the physics engine breacks down and send Sacky through the object. The variables are speed and thickness...you need less speed or more thickness to stop Sacky from breaking through and to keep yourself, your level and the physics engine from weaping in the corner.2009-07-14 02:20:00

I'll give that a try the only worry is, is that it may be too difficult to choose which direction to go in, but thanks to the change you recommended for the grab switches it should be possible.2009-07-14 02:22:00

If you could alternatively try making a the grabbable point be in the center, so Sackboy isn't always colliding with the walls. Of course maybe it's too small for this...I can't tell.2009-07-14 06:14:00
