I feel like a complete failure for asking this and I am sure I am missing something simple...but how can I get an elevator to have doors close when i get in and open when I get to the next floor and stay there and wait till I get back in to close again and go back down. Sorry if that sounds a bit confusing...the rum has got ahold of the brain at this time.

Spotlights will work for this. A spotlight will function just like a sensor switch, but function on just the layer in front of the elevator doors - so when you walk up to the middle of the doors, it opens and then when you step back a plane it will close. You'll just need a few AND gate set ups so that it will open from the inside as well, but only when reaching a new floor again. I can't quite see the set up in my head right now, but I'll build one here in a minute and get back to you with what I've got.
