Score Bubbles VS Prize Bubbles!

Archive: 28 posts

I always thought bubble was a funny word hehe, silly Shakespear (He didn't create his own plays mind you)

Anyhoo, which is more important to you when you play a level!? Collecting the most score pubbles as possible to get the highest score!? Or collecting every prize bubble out there so you can get 100%.

I personally favor score bubbles in community levels, since I don't really use community objects that much, and it also gets really annoying when it fills up your popet.

Which is more important to you!?

Eh, I'm pretty sure Score bubble for everybody, considering no one wants to have tons of useless objects that they'll never use except to annoyingly delete... Can't see any reason for people to care about Prize bubble collection, but meh.

... Funny, though. Anyone else always say Prize bubble instead of Score Bubble? Prize Bubble sounds better... and is easier... is it just me? >_<

I like prize bubbles, because they're worth more points, look slightly cooler, sound better when popped, and I use them in my levels instead of regular point bubbles with no prizes in them.2009-07-11 01:09:00

Since you can now turn off picking up community items it doesn't really matter. The only prizes I ever want are ones from levels designed to demonstrate/give out something to help with level creation...like the talking tool or activated checkpoint, I don't need a gold painted skull, thanks anyway! It is also the rare level where I actually care about my score...I'm playing just to check out people's creations, I'm happy just to reach the scoreboard! So I guess score bubbles is slightly more important...since for some levels they are a cool motivator...

NinjaMicWZ - Yes I've used empty prize bubbles too...but I don't think that counts...they're really just uber score bubbles when empty!

I prefer a mix of both, i good level has a good amount of score bubbles used well, not a massive blob of them with the occasional prize bubble around.

Even if the prize bubbles have nothing in them i prefer them in to make it look more varied. and i suppose more like story mode.
I do, though however, have photobooth and prize bubble collection off. But if i liked the look of something i replay and turn it on ^^

Although i do admit, i have never used a community object as long as i've been playing i think

that's what i do too. i used to give out prizes, but now i don't (since most things i make are easily re-created)

Usually I've got to say score bubbles, but in great levels where the items are great - I love prize bubbles. I don't use things that others have created, but I like to see how they've been made.
A good example of this is Mrsupercomputer's levels. In his most recent one you can get the sky pirates, and really see how much detail he's included, as well as get some ideas of how to use stickers innovativley.

I don't bother with either of them

Unless there's a competition to get the highest score i don't see the point in trying to get it
And prize bubbles are just really annoying because i never use community objects.

Score bubbles, I'm tired of getting 'gold trophies', which is just a colored sponge.2009-07-12 22:34:00

Prize bubbles are quite useles to me. Any object you can find in there you can do yourself.

Bring in score bubbles, secrets, gameplay, etc

99% of the time I only care about point bubbles. However, there is always that 1% where the creator has done something really special I'd like to play with.... but I've never actually USED any prize bubble.

(1 example I can think of where I had a lot of fun with a prize was winning the Armor Suite Mobile Boy in Donkeyshow's level).

I'm like "Hooray, "some kind of object"? eh? Well golly I'd better treaHEY YOU THERE YOUR PROFILE IS GETTING FULL"

Darn. But ah well atleast you can turn them off.

And as said many times in this topic already, there's a few you really do want, but most of the time... no thanks.

I actually considered making a level where the objective was to avoid collecting prize bubbles. It kind of flopped in the idea stage, but I may bring it back someday. I have a hard time believing the community would understand the irony of it all.

Look up '7 Days'. It`s made by a whole load of folk, but i`m sure it`s on xKappax`s profile.

I have prize collecting turned off so I no longer care, but before I always did my best to avoid the prizes.

Yeah, I've played it - I meant to say score bubbles. I don't have the motivation to go out and collect a bunch of different prizes or to make stupid little ones to put them in prize bubbles. That's kind of where I got the idea, though, but with more of the style of Mother-misty's Vilter level. In the end, it wasn't very original, and I wasn't sure how it would be received by the community, so I moved onto other ideas...

Thanks, though.

For me it depends on the mood I'm in. I don't take into consideration score/rank/trophies/reputation or any other "virtual goodies and incentives". Where score bubbles are concerned, I will usually only go out of my way if they've been placed somewhere interesting, slightly hidden, or difficult to get to... because that was the creators intentions.

As for prize bubbles, I turn them off. I tend to put one or two prize bubbles in levels for those who do appreciate getting them, and who may be able to benefit from using them in their own levels.... especially those who aren't as creative as some of the rest of us. After all... it is better to give than to receive.

Actually there's one instance where I like prize bubbles:

When the author makes me collect a sticker that I will use for a switch.

Nah, you're supposed to avoid those to make the level more interesting.

these days, if I ever did include a sticker switch in a level, I'd use a Mm one that everyone should have. and I'd likely never have a sticker switch vital to the completion of my level.

To me it's pretty much irrelevant. I don't know how much stickers the player did collect when he plays my levels. When I give him a sticker though, i'm sure he's having it.

Since the swith off prize bubble option came in though, I would be less interested in doing so but yet again, I prefer creative freedom over the prize bubble option. It's the problem of the player. I mean, there's also a nice "delete all" option that is super convenient to use.

I hate prize bubbles, They just clog up my profile. Sometimes you need a sticker to pass something, so thats a problem.

If there were 2 players, and I was one of them, I would just get the most bubbles so I can beat the other player.

And I don't collect Community Objects (before I did, cause it was the HOTTEST thing, now its Bomb Survivals), it justs fills your profile, and I always get those "Profile too huge and stuff."

Hahaha i find it funny how no one has voted for Prize bubbles only.

LBP was made with the intend of "share".......
Well.... i guess we are sharing levels for other people to play them... right?

I like competing for high scores so I collect both, I usually have the option to collect objects off anyway. I always try to get the highest score I can possibly get, it adds to the fun IMO.2009-07-17 17:29:00

Little kiddies would be like, "OH! ANOTHER 300 PRIZES LEVEL!!1 SHWEET!". :kz:

I regret the first time I got in it,

For me, I don't really care. I just want to finish the level, I don't go out of my way for a secret spot with bubbles.

Points don't matter!

I prefer score bubbles over annoying prize bubbles I'm going to have to delete. I'm not sure if this is still an issue, but who the heck wants to collect 20 blocks of wood? Arg!2009-07-18 07:12:00
