Industrial Assistance [Two Player Only]jackofcourse
My latest level is all about teamwork! You and a Sackbuddy must work together to overcome the numerous obstacles and contraptions that are a head of you. Awesome fun making this one again, totally different to anything I've previously done and let me look at the game in a whole new way.

Thanks Wexfordian Hope you enjoy it!

Everyone so far has seemed to like it, but we'll see how well it is received when it gets the epic feedback that this forum brings like no other!

Anyone want to try this out with me right now? I'm on and I'd like to give it a try.

EDIT: Tried it with Rock but the connection was horrible, couldn't even jump straight lol. Anyone else want to give it a go?

EDIT AGAIN:

Alright so I got to try it with jackofcourse, and I must say it was really fun. All of it had to do with teamwork, if one player was slightly unfocused then the other would die, and that's what made this level really fun.

PROS:

+Once again, the visuals were very well done.
+One of the best co-op levels out there, teamwork IS a must in this level.
+I have never seen anyone use sensor switches like you did in this level, plus points for originality!
+I always love the use of your sort of "chain-reaction" type design, and in a level set in an industrial setting, it worked very well.
+The ending was the icing on the cake, loved the little ride, too bad for the lag which made my cart flip over lol.

SUGGESTIONS:

Don't really have any to be honest, the level worked flawlessly in terms of gameplay/mechanics. If it wasn't for lag the ending would've worked fine as well. It was fun, teamwork orientated, and a great experience overall.

Gave ya :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart, both the level and you as well.

Good job once again!

Played this tonight with some friends and it's a great level for teamwork. You must rely on your friend to get through it and keep you alive in some places. Solid platforming and some clever 2x setups too. Looks great and has excellent use of layers. It's cool to have a whole level that's based on the 2x concept rather than just one or two areas in a level. Changes the dynamic completely when playing it.

No real cons I can think of other than having to find a friend to play it and that's not really a con - just hard to do sometimes.

5 stars & hearted! Thanks for making it!

I just played this level with my roommate and we both loved it. It was fun to figure out the puzzles - they were relatively simple, but impressively built and enjoyable to play. Also, the scenery was gorgeous.

Played this with the train guy, had to admit it was very interesting. I loved the ending I'll say that much but the puzzles were kind of predictable. I was really hoping for a jetpack paintinator combo that would have been satisfying to say the least.:arg:2009-07-10 11:14:00

I got done playing this with one of my buddies and it was awesome. It was simple to know which lever/button to use, but getting past the obstacle itself was a challenge. I didn't count, but it seemed like there were at least 8 completely different challenges to go through (what I mean is, obstacles that didn't borrow designs from previous obstacles). Truly great stuff.

I aslo liked the visuals. Most levels are very straight and lack curves, but yours had mostly curves and a few straight lines. And to make things better, they weren't crappy curves, but very well thought out and good looking pieces.

Luckily, I didn't run into much lag, so I had a great time. It's been awhile since I've played LBP, and this was one of the first 5 star levels I've played since I've hopped back on.

Overall, I gave you :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart.

I was that buddy. Everything what he said.
I loved all the different challenges, all are different... But I must ask why is there no paintinator? It's not like the level needs it, I'm just asking out of curiosity.

All in all:
Fantastic level with great looks and big big big fun factor! Dear I say it???... I think it's the best co-op level out there
The ending is superb!!!

:star::star::star::star::star:, heart & is there a co-op tag?

Thanks everyone for the feedback

I didn't put a paintinator in on purpose. As a bit of research for this level brnxblze found a few decent 2 player levels that we could have a play through so I could see what had already been done, what worked, and what didn't etc.

I seen the jetpack/paintinator combo many many times. Sure it was cool the first time, but I think it's something that gets tired quick. The idea itself is unique, but there isn't much that can be done with it, so I prefer to keep it for the guy who originally thought of it

Glad everyone likes it, all the puzzles etc are meant to be pretty simple, as in all my levels, they aren't really made to be heavily thought about it, just pretty straight forward puzzles with a bit of platoforming thrown in

I have to admit I was surprised, and a bit worried, at how fast this one came out from you coming up with the idea. But I trusted you for a reason - as this level was brilliant! Played it through with Blizzard_cool, and even with the lag we had, it was great fun!

Pros:
+ The different types of challenges involved
+ Both players had to be "on-the-ball" in order to complete it
+ The finish was fantastic!
+ A great style was used
+ The backgrounds are lovely

Cons:
- one tiny problem. The section where you have to drag the box across so your friend could jump on it and get to a higher level, when you push the box, it can get caught on some score bubbles in the place it's meant to fall.

Overall though, an easy :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 from me!

Just got done playing this with Matt_82 - Brilliant! Although we only gave it 1 star because we didn't get a very high score....

Only one part that we had a problem with. In the part where you're dumping a ton of emitted electric material in 3 sections the lag was REALLY bad. So, it was difficult playing online in that section. My only suggestion is to have less material dropping in each section.

Of course, Matt_82 IS in scotland, and I hear they wire their internet together using material strands from old bagpipes....

Playing the level with my brother (according to him it's 'practically orgasmic&apos. The style and look of the level is beautiful, with the mechanisms and mechanics this makes the level is one of the best looking I've seen. The puzzles are extremely clever (not to sure about the cart things at the end, seemed a little out of place and mishap (possibly slow them down)) and I didn't find any similar to what I have (yours is much more mechanical whereas mine is more physical). The level seems fairly flawless, not that we tried to break it though.
5 stars and hearted, great level.
Just a thought but when Online Create comes out how about we do a combined squeal. Admittedly my levels aren't exactly beautiful but I like to think my puzzles are interesting.

+One of the best co-op levels out there, teamwork IS a must in this

turns out you can do teamwork on your own! :hero:

'cause i did it alone... with two controllers. xD

hell yeah!

... there was one place though where i was on the edge of giving up. the place where the lower sackperson has to walk back and forth to keep the platforms above slid out.

+ visuals are like teh best eva!!!
+ i dunno ... i just like how everything moved
+ everything was awesome >_<

and you're now officially my favourite creator!!!!

i don't have any suggestions, isn't that great?

no ... wait. One suggestion. Maybe you should change the name of the level to Industrial Assistance [Two Sackpeople only]

Thanks again for all the feedback so far

Do you guys think I should unlock the level now?

It's also managed to get on page 3 of the highest rated with only 251 plays, that's all down to you guys really seeing as it's pretty much just forum people who would have been on it Thanks a lot.

I played this with Shermzor earlier today, and it was (of course ) amazing!!

I find it amazing how you can maintain such a high quality of play throughout the whole level, in all your levels. You really are an expert designer, and even if your puzzles are never overly challenging, you have a knack for creating a... well... perfect level for the player!

Awesome stuff Jack, of course

Unfortunately I lacked a buddy so I gave it a go with 2 controllers. Couldn't get past the part where you have to climb up those blocks with one player running side to side, but hey, that my fault for being billy no mates .

There's a knack to this, it is possible if you don't do anything with the sackboy that's doing the jumps until the sackboy at the bottom is changing direction...I hope that makes.

When the sensor reaches the end, you have twice as much time because you are in it's radius for much longer, you have just long enough to switch controllers, jump a cross, and then get the other controller to carry on moving at the bottom

If the sensor is on the right hand side...you want to be just to be left of it...that way you're in it's range while it's just moving to the right and then are still in it's range for a little bit when it changes direction and starts moving back.

I really hope this makes sense to you, but I've just woke up and feeling a bit disorientated so the chances are it won't.

Glad you enjoyed it so far though

Yeah I did I was telling you how it is possible with two controllers. I did a lot of the play testing like that

You just have to wait until the sensor reaches the end because then you have more time to switch controllers and do the jumps. You can only manage one jump at a time though.

Okay seriously, how did you manage to get 100 hearts, 700 plays and 5 stars while the level was locked?! The last time I checked there was a tiny amount of plays on the locked level. I hate you Jack...

At one point the level with the key in it had like 150 plays and the proper level had 500 plays...

The same people must have just been playing it over and over again haha

Hey man, I finally just found someone to play with and loved the level. I tried playing with the double controller method, but felt lame and gave up. I was excited when someone joined me, lol. It was a great level - probably the best co-op level I've played. I don't have a lot to add. The puzzles were solid and involved both players very well. The detail throughout really added to the experience. 5 stars, brilliant, and a heart.2009-07-14 23:50:00

I FINALLY had a friend round and was actually able to play this. That aside, this is an amazing level! The level truly puts the 2 player parts in the story levels to shame. All of the puzzles are pure genius and REALLY fun and the level also has a nice to look at simple design. Some parts are a little dark so I couldn't really see what I had to do well, but when I noticed, I was amazed at the ingenuity of it! There wasn't a single glitch as well, plus the roller coaster at the end is perfect. :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart!... again!2009-07-19 11:15:00

I'm not sure about the dark bits though, there shouldn't really be any points in the level that are dark. Did anyone else have similar issues? The lighting is up to full, and I didn't intend for any dark areas so I'm not sure...any way it could be your television perhaps?

It probably could just be the TV, my TV seems to be pretty dark. That or it's the shadow from the walls and stuff around them, but you can't really do anything about that.

Finally got to play this level, had my eye on it for ages, was waiting on my friend getting back from holiday

I love this type of level and this was done very well. I liked the theme you chose and it was very solid though out. everything worked well for me. and you did have some really good ideas going on in it.

I did not find it too difficult - I feel the major part of this level is having fun working it out with a friend

:star::star::star::star::star: and tagged complex

Thumbs up - My level TriggerHappy may appeal to you - It's also a two player level... though you are not really helping each other out...

Okay, Jack, I finally got to play this. I was over my friend Vmethos' house and he played it with me. This was incredible. I think this might be your best level. Vmethos is a brilliant creator. It's a shame he only did one level. That level he did, Seal of Silvraen, Shadow of an Ancient Era... it took him from November to February to complete, and then he moved on to fallout 3. When we're over his house, though, he'll still play lbp with me if i ask him. It's a cryin' shame, because he's made probably one of the best waterfalls I've ever seen (i used it in the crystal cave) and he was one of the first, if not the first, to do an earthquake effect in his level.

Anyway, jack, it's always a pleasure to play your levels, cause I know they won't disappoint. Your mechanics are just too **** fun to watch. I always find myself saying "oh no, he didn't do that! OH YES HE DID! AWESOME!"

Just had a change to play this with miltontps.
What a fantastic & fun level! I like how you are thrown immediatly into 2 player action. Every puzzle is really fun and ingenious.
There were lots of "ingenious", "brilliant", "awesome" text messages going around
This is certainly the level i'm gonna show if one of my friends wants to have a play, it's the best multiplayer level i've played in LBP.

Couldn't give a rating because i wasn't the host but you will certainly receive a brilliant tag, 5 stars and heart from me very soon!

Great work looking forward to more!

cheers,

Every time I try to play this level it lags as hell.
I would really want to finish it, but there's no way.
Still from 1.17 I can't have a good multiplayer experience, and joining some friends has become an impossible pain.

I almost forgot to give you a post on this one!

I played this a few nights ago with Poms and I have to tell you this was one amazingly fun adventure. A great mix of puzzles and challenges to proceed forward and done with that marvelous style that you have carried forward so well through all your levels. Sort of a Timberlands mixed with Calamity Construction. Personally, I think this is your best level to date that I have played, though I see you have another one out!?!?.. ummm could you slow down and let us catch up please?

I can't think of one thing that wasn't wonderful about this level nor anything that I didn't find endearing and can't wait to play this again soon!! Simply marvelous fun and incredible game mechanics.

I would have to go back in again to find any nitpicks, but in all honesty, I don't think they exist.

Great level!!
