A co-operative mission: The mooooooo conspiracy (Two to four player only)LieutenantFatman
What ho, what ho! Hello Ladies and Gents, first post from me.
Typing in my PSN would perhaps be the easiest way to find my level, it was a long 'Moo' admittedly.

As you may have gathered from the title of my level, it is purely co-operative, 2 to 4 players, although I have only been able to test it in 2 player. Any attempts at single player will (shock!) fail. Most upsetting I know.

I have tried to keep the level relatively easy for players to navigate through, but team work is very much required.
Like all my levels, it is very silly; providing fun and laughter are my primary goals. If it causes a lot of frustration then I have certainly failed.

Please let me know your thoughts. I had much assistance from my lovely girlfriend in both creating and testing this particular level, so hopefully two minds will prove to be better than one.

I look forward to providing some feedback to your levels as well.
Most of my - other - levels are very short and easy, so feel free to have a blast on those if impressed.

Thanks in advance.

Still no feedback here? i just played it with omegaslayer and guys, this level is so much fun, lots of cool ideas and coop minigames; the only thing i didn't like were the global settings, sometimes too dark

You could attach the switch of the rotating maze at the beginning to an invisible thread so it doesn't fall down

You should also enlarge the entrance after the genetically modified cows: i had to restart the level on our first run because 2 legs got stuck there and on our second run we almost managed to repeat the mistake

Overall 4/5 ant tag co-op, keep up the good work

Thanks mate, I really appreciate this feedback. I'll look into fixing all of these things straight away, as in right now, lol. Some really constructive thoughts there. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. And nice idea for the switch!

edit: It's done, all suggestions have been implemented, thanks again.

2 player levels dont get as many plays as 1 player levels, since you need a buddy and cant just play on impulse. Also you need double the players to get the same number of plays.
(When i was going to publish a 2 player i considered offering myself to be the 2nd player to any 1 players out there wishing to review, could be biased though, you'd have to set yourself on 'follow' to the other player to find out his experiences over yours.)

But anyway I'll give this glorious meat bounty a right proper roasting when the sun reaches it's highest point. With my brother i think.

Dont get scared on the word 'roasting', i actually a very nice man ^^

It was a pretty good level, kind of random, though.

The puzzles were good, and you achieved your goal, none of them were frustrating. And they were fun as well.

On the final part, the boss dissolved, but some parts kept shooting, killing my friend. Just thought you should know about that.

Otherwise, everything was good.

Overall :star::star::star::star:.

Thanks BlackToof, very true I know, bit of a bummer, but I was hoping co-op levels would be more popular with those people who play with friends and partners.

And thanks gersan93, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm aware of the small problem with the boss at the end. Looks like I will have to do something about that. Simple enough to fix, I just wanted players to shoot the arms off first but looks like that's a no go! Cheers for the feedback.

Just got off this level with my brother,

I felt overall it was pretty good, the puzzles made us have to think a little but not start writing algebra on the wall to figure it out.
I particularly like the enemies, some sort of jumping ball just because they were unusual.

It happened quite alot that when we destroyed an enemy not all of it's parts would get destroyed. Did the enemies also have a shooter bar on them?
I had the same issue with someone above when we kiled the boss it's gun was still on the floor and killed my brother.

I did find myself laughing at the evil moo man when it turned out to be the cow on the glass just because he didnt threaten me at all

Overall we gave it :star::star::star::star: and Satisfying

Good work!

I'd appreciate it if you'd give my boss fight level a go for F4F:

Cheers BlackToof!

I fixed the arm thing earlier, but couldn't publish due to 'net problems. I've republished now, so hopefully no more problems! The enemies do also have a shooter bar on them, I thought I would give the player a choice on how to take them down.

I'm glad you liked the humour and puzzles. Parts from other enemies stay after their destruction, I thought this was quite cool (makes it look like a battlefield), it doesn't pose any problems, so I thought, why not?

If anyone has any ideas on how to make it worthy of 5 stars, please let me know. Although I am chuffed with 4 stars of course.

Just played, as requested :kz:

My only real complaint is the legs staying... just seems kind random.

Also, I loved the puzzles, which were good (though not truly the best). Were simple, yet also fun.

And, um... yeah. I kinda have a thing against those simple bosses that shoot plasma and you must dodge and shoot back as they stay stationary, but in any case, still 4 stars.

Hey, he's not stationary! But I suppose I know what you mean. To be honest the level is overheating due to so many different puzzles, so I can't do a huge amount with the boss, but I'll have a think about that.

Nobody seems to like the legs being left behind for the normal enemies, so I will attempt to change that, although to be honest I'm not actually sure how it happened in the first place. I'm sure a fix won't be too difficult.

Anyway, glad you found it fun, cheers for the feedback!

Great concept. It was udder madness!

I like the co op play. The rotating maze was nice.

On the part where one person has to jump over the electrified portions i Liked how you made it all look electrified when it wasn't, but this might come off as confusing to some people. I finally just jumped and exhaled in relief when I didn't get zapped.

Some parts of the level felt a little empty, but as you said the level is starting to overheat, so I don't see any way to really fix this without removing some other parts.

overall I scored it :star::star::star::star:

I'd appreciate F4F on my level 'towers of Patheon' - a new version will be coming out later today, but I have to go buy milk and a few other grocery's so its been put on hold.

I did play this the other day with a few people. It was actually pretty fun... the visuals were abit all over the place, but the pacing and coop obstacles were actually pretty well thought out. Plenty of humor in the level made the whole thing more enjoyable, and it was quite an interesting theme lol @ the cow skull at the end - do I smell sequel?2009-07-16 21:24:00

I think I know what you mean about the electrified bit nartules. It wasn't meant to cause confusion, just to stop players taking the same route as each other by mistake. I'll have a look at it, maybe cut it down to a smaller size so it doesn't stand out and scare people.

Sounds like I'm counting too much on the Mm backgrounds again. I'll see if the heat allows me to put anything more in, I may get away with it if I don't overcomplicate it.

NinjaMicWZ, a sequel would be on the cards of this proves popular. You never know.
Ah, I nailed the humour but not the visuals, lol, works for me. I think I'm getting better at the detail thing though, slowly but surely. Thanks for the feedback, I'll check your levels as soon as I can, weekend at the latest.

By looking at your picture, I see Dark Matter.
Kinda bad to do that...

-Edit-
Also I'll rate when I see a video or more detail.

Aha, that photo is now out of date. It looks a lot better than that now (honest!). I should probably put some more photos up to reflect the changes and improvements.
I'll try and do it tomorrow. As for videos, I don't have that facility, although I have requested a video review elsewhere on the forum, fingers crossed!

Checked it out the other night with a few friends. The cow theme is cute and between the stickers the "stampede" and the skull you had some interesting interpretations of cows in the level. I liked the sunset color light you used too - very western like.

The 2x challenges weren't too hard and I think most people will be able to finish the level. Having the 2nd person run through the circle mazes was a cool idea.

The only problem I saw was it's possible to get stuck behind the cow skull at the finale of the level. I'd suggest putting a block behind it so you can't get back there or at least jump out if you do. (Happened with two of the younger players I was with the 2nd time I played through it)

I gave it 3 stars. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks for pointing this out Morgana25, I've fixed that now.
Sounds like you enjoyed it, good stuff. I'll see if I can play your series in co-op soon.
---------

I also tried fixing the legs thing someone spoke of where they don't always disappear, but it seems if I wish to give players the choice between stomping on heads, or shooting the enemy, this has to stay the way it is. Sorry, but it shouldn't effect game play.

Creating a unique background isn't going to work for this level, but I am making sure my next level has this in place.
