Remember World of Colour? It was one of the first Little Big Planet levels ever made, and one of the best. I don't know when or why it happened, but a little while ago this level disappeared. Bubble World Adventure is my attempt to fill the void, a sort of homage to one of the greatest levels ever made in Little Big Planet.
However, that is not to say this is not my own original creation. I gave it my own plot, my own characters, created my own colourful landscape, and filled it with my own nasty baddies and tricksy puzzles for sackboy to take on.
Have fun!

I've never played the level you're paying homage to, but this level was fun on its own. Some enjoyable platforming and spinning, accompanied by some creative uses of color. I especially liked the very end, with the paint-activated color light wheel. That was lovely to watch.

PROS:
Good use of color (visually and plot-wise!)
Simple, fun running and jumping around

CONS:
The enemies didn't seem to pose much of a threat
In a level so built around color, there could be more to look at in certain spots

Thanks very much for the feedback! I've updated the level although I couldn't really add much to it because it's already constantly warning me of imminent overheating. I'll see what I can do about more dangerous enemies.2009-07-11 05:25:00

Cute level, the colored point bubbles were a nice touch. The enemies were a nice contrast to the colorful level, it all looked good. Unfortunately I had a problem with the giant light color wheel though, i couldnt figure out where to go for one thing, and for another(possibly quite related), several of the lights broke (i assumed the breaking was bad as the rest of the lights didnt seem to want to break )

no F4F needed.

I was thinking I should add a description for what to do there, I guess I better get on that. I just got lazy is all...
The lights shouldn't break though... I don't know how you managed to pull that off XD

Hi there, i've just finished your level,

I enjoyed it,

I think you have got abstract platformig spot on there, i enjoyed the use of colours.
Using the Paintinator to shoot colour at white blocks really works well and suits the level.
Also your helpful character in this level is weird but wonderful.

The issues i came across were:

the 3rd boring black and white machine i came across i believe was walking backwards off the ledge (i believe the legs pistons were out of sync?) obviously you know if it was meant to be like this.

On the next couple of them 1's spikes had dropped onto the floor (i cant tell if this is in general or somehing that just happened to me, worth a look)

And on the spinny circle bit near the start i didnt know where to go and didnt realise some of the circles were not spinning. you could add a paint splat of some, this would indicate they are not moving?

Good level Sir well done!

Nice level mate.

I recall the level you are paying homage to, I have to say, I prefer yours.
Really great fun. I love all the colour and the story and enemies.

The biggest problem is the bit at what I assume is the end. The big spinning wheel with the lights. I too broke some of these with the gun. I could see the finish past the wall to the left but couldn't get to it.

Three other suggestions for you. First on your mini race, I would adjust a camera so the player can see a pit of doom coming up after that big fast slide. Second on all the spinning wheels near the beginning, it's a bit confusing where to go for a while, and I was bouncing around on the other non-moving wheels looking for secrets. (Didn't find any.)

Lastly, the bit with the infinite point bubbles... I would definitely change that. It's not quite as rewarding if everyone can simply come out with 1,000,000 points by just standing under that shower for 30 seconds. I would set it so it's triggered by sackboys approach and then have a limited amount fall.

Anyway, despite so many suggestions, I still thought it was fantastic.
I gave it the full :star::star::star::star::star:
hearted it, and gave it a positive comment and tag.

Good work.

Please leave feedback for my co-op moo level, if not possible, the other in my sig, cheers!

Fun level! I can definitely tell it's a homage to World of Color and it's a very good one at that! I loved some of the stuff that you did with it though, like having those cool looking enemies invading and turning everything black and white.

The platforming was pretty solid throughout, although there were a few spots that were a tad frustrating. I'm thinking of the jump immediately after the sled ride at the end. Once you let go of the sled, you begin to slide backwards, making it hard to jump onto the vertical moving platform.

I also agree with LieutenautFatman about the infinite bubble shower. I'd ditch that, although since many players have already taken advantage of it, you're gonna be stuck with scores of 1,000,000 that no one will be able to beat, so I guess you could just leave it in for fun now.

Oh! I loved the part with the paintinator and having to bring the color back tot he world! That was very cool, but I think it'd be even better if the blocks actually turned to color. Perhaps you could build a white shell that is around a colored piece, you shoot the shell, it dissolves to reveal the color.

Anyway, nice work on a fun level!

well, this was a fun level

some pros
- nice colors and platform action
- fun!

cons
mainly the same stuff people before me mentioned
- didn't had a clue what to do at the spinning wheel
- the jump immediately after the sled ride can be a bit frustrating indeed
- maybe you could reduce the bubble shower so not everyone will score 1.000.000 points

gave it 4 stars and a colorful tag

That was exactly my original plan, but I knew there was still a lot more to do in the level and I noticed my thermometer was already getting dangerously high, so I decided it would probably not be a good idea because I do really like the light colour wheel at the end and wouldn't have had room for that. (Like I said, my thermo is FULL!)

Thanks for the great feedback everyone! I'll look into all of your levels throughout the day, and as for this level there will probably be an updated version up very soon.

I tried this earlier but couldn't even get past the start.

I lost all my lives on those first crooked platforms through a combination of only having a normal checkpoint and an absolutely terrible camera angle. Every time I tried to jump to the first platform the camera angle moved in such a way it was impossible to see where to land.

Alright I guess it does make it look a bit further away than it actually is, all checkpoints are now infinite and I've tweeked the cameras around the first jump.2009-07-11 19:03:00

I remember playing World of Colour, and even though it was good, this is better. The amont of color and the way it blends together is very cool. The guide/buddy that follows you around is also cool looking and had a nice voice that fit his appearance. Also, the level has a nice length with plenty of different obstacles. Then there's a twist that changes the level completely, but it still retains its charm. Everything about this level rocked, the color usage, the variety in obstacles, the story, and the paintinator. All great stuff.

My only real problem was after the 1st infinite bubble shower and you have to jump on the circles to cross the gap. With the camera angle you have, sometimes you'll jump short and die because it's hard to gauge the distance and sometimes you won't even land on it. Maybe have the camera zone start at the first circle.

Overall, I gave you :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart.

If you give me feedback, I'd prefer it be for Morning Rush.

Awesome use of color! The spider monsters looked pretty cool. I like how when you shoot the blocks a bunch of colored score bubbles come out from all sides. The color wheel tipped it off for me at the end. Impressive!

I gave this level :star::star::star::star::star: and a beautiful tag.

Nice to know the colour wheel isn't breaking any more! Still working on the camera zones issue but it should be updated in a minute or two.2009-07-12 19:18:00

Yeah it happened to me also .

I thought this level was as good, if not better than the original. I loved the colourful character, very weird but brilliant. The paintinator idea was fantastic as well. I also encountered a problem with the spinning circles though, mainly because it was hard to see which were spinning. Overall, a fantastic level - 5 stars and a heart.

Got through the level and first let me say that i Loved the whole colored bubbles and gray mech spiders.

At the end when I was sitting on the blue launcher, me and my son ended up getting squished and had to run all the way back up.

Other then that I had no issues, and the camera angles while going through the spinners were done well so that multiple people could play through without the highest person loosing sight of the goal.

Great level, it did world of color a true honor.

if you get a chance and could play and rate my level 'towers of patheon' i would appreciate it. I am making a patch later today that is lowering the tower and decreasing the length of the droppers timers, which should make it more enjoyable and easy.

I don't remember playing World of Colour, but your level is simply wonderful! The (duh) colors, atmosphere, scenario and everything is just perfect! Even the little story is simple but satifying. And the monkey... oh, I don't know if he's adorable or weird, but he is sure a piece of art.

Five stars and a heart! Congratulations! :star::star::star::star::star:

I may not get around to playing any more for a day or two, but I'll be sure to check out all the levels I haven't already as soon as I can

COLORFUL is the word! Everything was awesome, your Dark creatures, your platforms, and of course the light wheel at the end. I LOL'ed at the photo with the jumping/smiling bubbles. I agree that you should have covered the platforms with a white shell so it would look more coloured and less white with some akward paint spots. ***** Hearted 2009-07-21 19:53:00

Awesome level! Lots of fun, and great use of colours. I loved the part where you shoot the lights, just before the end 2009-07-21 21:20:00

World of colour was one of the first, if not the first level I played, this is a great take on it, that actually improves it in some ways.

+ Loved the character that introduced the level
+ Colourful (obviously)
+ Liked the rotating wheels to act as a conveyor and launch you through the points.
+ Liked the jumping paint blobs where the photo booth is
+ The enemies are a great contrast to the colour, good choice of materials to make them look dirty compared to their surrondings.
+ Like the use of the paint splats in the level as detail
+ I thought the section where it was white, and then there were dots of paint where the colour returned looked really great.
+ Nice use of the paintinator
+ The the colour wheel at the end.

- Spinning wheels to launch you higher in a level are one of pet hates, that personal opinion though.
- You've got a tiny bit of Dark Matter showing after the paint blolb monsters where the switch is
- Its a bit late now, but the infinite point shower ruins the scoreboard
- Like mrsupercomputer said above, removing a shell from the object you are returning to colour and leaving the colour underneath would make that section so much better.

I enjoyed the level, there were some very good sections with some nice ideas.

****, hearted, and pretty tag

My F4F level is in my sig.
