I hope you all enjoy this level. Feel free to give me any feedback , good or bad. I made this level months ago, but just recently made some adjustments and added a good portion to the temple. Here are a few more screenshots from the level.

Okay, i just played this now. It was cute, some nice effects and scenery, and some good platforming. A few things i think could be improved/added are these:

digits on first boss. (by that i mean giving fingers instead of just circles of material ) You could accomplish this even with just the thin plane, if you want to keep the circle look. The rest of the boss was very detailed, the stubby hands felt a little odd.

At the end, by the treasure room on the left, i could see emptiness. It took away from the illusion that i was underground when i didn't see a solid wall of snow or rock or something there.

visible piston on one of the platforms that bob.

I also couldn't see the icicle on boss' head, extending the camera zone should help, but the first time i jumped over thinking i was supposed to shoot him on top of the head, then as i jumped i was like "ohhhh... theres an icicle..." but didn't quite shoot it, unfortunately.

Differentiation between the starting characters would also be nice, at very least give one of them glasses, a mustache, a bow tie, or something.

I liked the Legends of the Hidden Temple reference, that was cute. The first boss was amazing looking. The Kratos reference was somewhat funny as well.

Overall it was an enjoyable level, i think a few things could use cleaning up though. Thanks again for the feedback, hope this helps.

Thanks so much for trying out my level and giving me some feedback, I really needed feedback because I want to make this a good level.

I also noticed the hand problem, lol. I tried a couple things, but it looked lame...I will give it a try again though.

EMPTINESS????!!!! That is unacceptable, this shall be fixed promptly.

Hmmm...I seem to remember being able to see it...oh wait, I had put in a camera zone and then forgot to save it...man, that is lame. OK I will have to add that back in.

Ya, I guess those guys could be different

The first boss was amazing looking???? Excellent compliment, didn't see that coming. Ya, I was bored and had to add in Kratos, it just felt like the right thing to do.

Once again, thank you for the feedback and I will quickly get to work on these fixes.

EDIT:
Alright, so all the changes mentioned have been fixed I believe. I hope others will also play this so i can get more feedback and improve the level further.

I just got done playing this level. I like the cabin in the beginning and how you did the snow in the window. I thought the thin ice part was clever. Also, I thought Kratos lying there was pretty funny & random. The hydra party was cool although with the hydra on the left, I can just just hide behind the rock while shooting. I don't know if this was intended since you can't hide from the hydra on the right when u switch to that plane. Pretty cute level.

In the end, I gave it :star::star::star: Keep up the effort!

I have just finished playing this level.

I thought the snowing from the windows, although it was easy to tell how you did it, worked quite well!
I thought the scenary as a whole was done very well including the snow floor and the ice formations thoroughout the level.
Also the level was well thoughtout and came back full circle to the coin statue.
The bosses were great, i liked the one with the mask and the fact you didnt have any usual means of killing it being brain or shooter mark. Locks and icicle on the head was great. I laughed that he called me a jerk to
But i did also like that there was 2 serpants which was unexpected.
And the ice melting was done particularly well.

I did encounter one problem when i when back to the coin statue, i guess i must have jumped over the sensor or something because he didnt do anything, then i decided to go back and when i came back again i got the coin out. Simple enough to fix i think make it unavoidable ^^

Overall i gave this :star::star::star::star:

Reading some of the previous posts it seems that you have improved the level somewhat since you started and it seemed to show i never felt anything was empty.

Nice work!

Knowledge!

I'd appreciate it if you could try my short boss level for F4F:

This level here is a special type of level. It's a 3 star level that could be a 4 star w/ some extra polish. Instead of wasting time saying what I liked and yada yada yada, I'm gonna give my thoughts on what needs to be improved.

Outside of the cave is pretty good looking and functions well, but the cave itself needs some changes. The real issue I have w/ the cave is that it's extremely flat. You should add bumps, curves, dips, and jagged edges to the surface instead of having it so smooth. Also, try adding stickers, noises, and changing the lighting in the cave to make it more lifelike. Another thing you could do to immerse the player is adding in camera angles that show off the environment and the obstacles we have to cross. And my final suggestion is that you make the yeti-type monster more deadly and you de-activate his attacks after we beat him. His stomping is fine but make his ice breath cover a wider area and possibly move.

Overall, I gave you :star::star::star:, but like I said, it could be 4.

Thanks RicktheRipper. Ya, I always want to make my levels more hilly or whatever, but everytime I try to edit material like that, it always says the shape is getting too complicated and I can never finish what I started, so I just give up

And I completely forgot about changing the lighting. This level was made way before that was possible and since then I keep forgetting to change that, so it sounds like I have work to do on that.

Not too sure how to make the yeti more deadly or make his breath move, but I will give it a shot.

Thanks for the feedback and I will check out your levels as soon as I can.

if the shape starts getting too complicated, end it and start a new one, then glue them together. that might work.

as for making his breath move, attach the emitter onto something near his mouth that will sway back and forth (a tongue attached w/ a wobble bolt?). that way, when the emitter activates, his breath will move.

When I have a shape that is getting too complicated, I usually cut it in half, and Place a tiny bit of dark matter to it, that way it stays in place without having to glue. I don't know if they ever fixed the glue bug, where everything would fall apart if you unglued one piece, but I'd rather not take the chance.2009-07-14 05:35:00

Ya, that was always my problem too. i think that they did fix that problem though...maybe

I had fun with this!

The visuals were good, maybe a bit too blocky in some areas, but I enjoyed the character design and the design of the vehicles. The snow mobiles were awesome! I loved how it opened and shut. I did wish that the snow mobile was a little bit longer and faster, but that's a small nitpick.

The platforming was fun and I liked the gameplay elements where you had to shoot the ice and then jump on top of it. It was tricky, but fun. I was a bit worried that someone could accidently shoot the elevator switch, because it looked like it was on the same layer, but I wasn't sure.

Both of the bosses were very cool with their multiple attacks and the multiple steps the player has to go through to bring them down.

Overall, a fun level that could maybe use a bit more polish on the visuals. Other than that, great job!

Oh man...shoot the switch...I didn't even think of that...maybe I should change that cuz that would be lame if someone could not continue because the elevator is gone.

Thanks for the review. I am happy that you enjoyed it.

Well, just played. Altogether gave 3 stars.

Way too dark in the cave for my liking. could hardly see what was happening.

The ski lift was weird because you had to hold it the whole way.

the first boss stomping/whatever thingie... that was confusing but yeah. Also wasn't much way to kill you besides an easilly avoided stomping foot...

then died on some hard to jump platforms at the end that it was kinda dark to see...

The level was kinda cool.

Some jokes were funny, like the "right in the soft spot" one and Kratos was so... weird... that I actually smiled. Also, I see that you make great detais, like the PS3 and the ice decoration, both were very well done.

BTW, some obstacles were a little hard, like the slippery ice and the spikes. They are actually easy, but need a little patience, and the 5 lifes only checkpoint make it worse. My suggestions is to put some infinite life checkpoints, because when the level becomes long, die and have to start all over again is quite disappointing.

After all, I give you 3 stars :star::star::star:

Don't forget to play my level!

Man...i just changed the darkness in the cave since some people mentioned I should change the lighting...I better change it back then. Thanks for the feedback.
