New update to the Level Showcase

Archive: 16 posts

The Level Showcase has just gotten a significant update! We've implemented a new "template" system that will make level posting even easier. Now, in the Level Showcase, instead of one button that says "New Thread", you'll see two buttons: "New Level" and "New F4F Level". Click the one you want and it will bring you to a set of fields to fill out, including the level title, your PSN, and more details. You'll have all the options you had before, but now it will format your post in a very consistent way - very much like the way Spotlight levels are formatted. Everything else works the way you'd expect, and it's very easy to use, so give it a try!

Side note: we've removed "Blogs" from the tabs and added it into the navbar. In it's place, there's a new "Levels" tab that brings you right to the Level Showcase. We wanted to highlight our Showcase a bit more prominently, since it has previously been tucked away where only regulars can see it.

That's really cool, and I think it will really help to keep the levels well ordered in a clear way.
I really love this kind of stuff, when in the first post of a thread you find ALL the infos you need.
first...I really loved to say this at least once...

Thats.....awesome.

I just made a quick mock up thread and the preview looked very nice.
Adds a little bit of "style" to the level showcase.

Oh, I forgot to mention: you may still edit your thread after you have posted it, including the status of your level in regards to use of the F4F system. It may not look the same, but it's just some BBCode, and can be easily understood at a quick glance.2009-07-07 09:51:00

Well, there is no way that "I didn't notice F4F" can be an excuse now. Its a great system and now its perfectly accessible (although I knew it before).
Nice update

Cool update, this should help rid the world of vague one sentence level postings.2009-07-07 17:52:00

Very nice update. I wonder if when you put a URL in the screenshot place it shows next to the title that there is one . I'll check it out later. Also, good idea to replace Blogs with Levels on the tabs. The Level Showcase is (and should be) used more than Blogs are.2009-07-07 19:59:00

Awesome!
1 Question tho, is there a way to edit old threads to make them look like the new ones?

Good, good. I shall make use of it in the next few days/weeks, depending on the weather.2009-07-07 20:47:00

No, not really. You'd have to format the post with the same BBCode used when you use the template, and it's not too easy to get it right.

Awesome addition! :hero:

One issue I did find... I was creating a new level thread and noticed the insert image tag was missing. I could still do it by coding it in there, but did not see the nifty icon.

Thanks!!!!
