Something I just noticed about LBP.

I just noticed that if you press square while a picture is counting down, it will skip to the finish and take a picture. I'm not sure if this works with photo booths, but I don't think so. Just a little time saver, nothing very big or important.2009-07-07 06:25:00

It says at the bottom:

Square Icon - Take picture now

I found this out a couple of months ago, I rarely ever look at the bottom of the screen. Why do they put all the important stuff at the bottom...?

Uhh trying to think of some others

Here's a couple I've discovered:

You can pick up a switch and if you hit circle it will go back where it was connected. Very handy if you have a big mess of logic and the wires are everywhere and you can't recall what activates, say... a piston. Grab the the switch off the piston with X, then drag it around and watch where the wire moves to see what switch it belongs to. Then just hit circle and it will "cancel" the move operation and the switch will return to being connected to your piston. Has helped me many times.

Also, you can toggle your global lighting quickly back to the level's default values. So if you happen to trigger a GLT switch while in edit mode and suddenly everything's very dark (or foggy, or blue, or... you get the idea), just tweak the GLT (any GLT) and cancel (so... square, then circle) an voila!! back to the level defaults.

The GLT always goes off when i'm in edit mode. I'll be carefully cutting out a delicate shape and then all the lights go out!2009-07-07 13:03:00

You know.... I did NOT know this, and I've been irritated by having to wait when I'm trying to take an action shot. Nice!2009-07-07 13:24:00

Also, it will completely skip the countdown if you are already out of the picture in Create Mode.2009-07-07 18:37:00

It's funny how some people didn't know about this... I think I must have figured that out on one of the first days...

Did you know that if you press up on the D-pad, Sackboy smiles? He has other emotions too! 0iz!

In any mode.

But thanks for this. I was wondering how to do this, but apparently I can't read the bottom . I feel like a noob - this would have made taking pictures for my levels much easier!

If I remember correctly, the countdown also only appears while there is a Sackperson in the focus. If you're taking a photo of a piece of scenery, there'll be no countdown and the picture will be taken immediately.2009-07-08 18:14:00

Another little thing: I made a topic about it awhile ago. If you lightly hold R2/L2 sackboy will raise his hands, then if you press them all the way he'll point his fingers. Works for all emotions, anger=clenches fist, etc.

It also works for some hand costume pieces, forget which...

I noticed someone up there^^ said something about making the icons bounce by pressing X. While I've known about this forever, I just recently discovered that if you do this during the loading sequence at the very start of the game (where it tells you about the autosave icon) it makes the game load so much slower then it would if you didn't touch anything. Since I got the game I've been mashing X and Start in hopes of skipping the stupid screen, when it turns out I was prolonging my own suffering... Who knew?2009-07-09 18:44:00

Since we are bringing up random little things, if you smack someone with a frying pan in your hand, it sounds like a frying pan.

You all do know that they didn't show every little feature during the game conferences, don't you? lol
I'm surprised about all of the little easter eggs that nobody knows about because they think they already know everything in the game and don't bother looking at "obvious" in-game instructions. =|

If you take a picture and you're part of the picture, it'll countdown for you to get ready.
If you take a picture of something else, without you in it, then it'll just take a picture in a blink of an eye.

Not sure if anyone has replied to this one - I didn't read the rest of the thread - but really all you have to do is press start, save the level and the GLT will return to normal.

Nice catch with the square button for pics. I didn't know that one before, but I did notice when you're browsing different levels and the pics from other players come up, you can hit the square button and it'll move to the next pic.

someone said - why put all the important info on the bottom - I agree!

If you have to edit some corners you can quickly switch between them by pressing L1 or R1.2009-09-06 00:04:00
