Photo Manipulation

Archive: 16 posts

This side of using programs like photoshop is new to me, but i find it very interesting - I ahve jsut started looking at it, and hopefully soon i will have some stuff to show for it =]

Does anyone else here do this/try it?

I think i have some pics another guy did from one of the other forums i go on, they are awesome.

I could only get one, the rest were deleted from photobucket...

but this is what i mean =]

Yea I do that, you need to play with the contrasts, colors and duplicate alot of layers.
If your ever on msn, i could teach you how.

Pretty nice job. Hard to tell how much you did to it... but maybe thats a good thing.

I'm guessing you pasted the clouds in over the hill. And changed the colour values a bit to make it all match up.

I just err... got my grubby hands on the latest photoshop and am loving it. Kinda put all the new stuff into my sketchbook on MNRC but might just copy it all back to LBPC again... I though pretty much everyone would migrate, but I guess people are still addicted to lbp

Ah cool one though.

Maybe we could start a competition? Or just everyone could post their photo manipulation stuff here? I don't have the time really, I'm focusing on drawing/painting in PS.

I was actually thinking about something like this. Where it was a set picture of, say, a city skyline, and the task was something like "make it look like a post-apocalyptic, decimated landscape." I am definitely not the one to set this up, but I urge you to!

Oh thats a pretty nice idea actually......... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe. Maybe I'll put more thought into it... maybe not. I'll consult you if I'm stuck for ideas though Mr Dawes
Oh btw. I just "got" your sig. Thought the image was bugged or something for ages. But after I saw this http://pix.motivatedphotos.com/2008/8/19/633547867107691033-fromadistanceyoullshtbricks.jpg
I realized what it said haha :O

This image is great - really well composed and, despite what people will tell you, hard to get right.

Compositing is one thing, but to get it to look this good takes skill.

There are 4 photo layers in this alone, not forgetting the highlighting layers on the waves, clouds and star backgound.... tricky.

I love pictures like this.

Anyone who wants to try these out should not get too dissapointed first attempt - they are not as easy as they look and take time.

Yeah, the guy who made it who used to come on my other forum was teaching me how to do stuff like that over msn, but then he stopped coming on lol. So i am now trying to relearn =]

But if anyone wants to do a comp for this, i'm definitely up for it =]

Im not sure how many people would join. I guess it depends on the subject of each round. I don't think it should be a knockout thing though.

Sorry for asking here, but would anyone be interested in a logo competition? So if I gave the subject you could all make a different logo. I think this would get people to be quite creative. What do you guys/girls think?

Sounds good, but with the work I'm doing on Sigs and Avatars and the sig comp, I'm not sure I'd want to keep entering lots of different things. Maybe if we could cycle through the themes - like one week sigs, the next logos, the next photo manipulation...

That way, it would probably get more posts per theme and not water it down too much.

Is this a daft idea?

I like that idea. We may have to get this started some time. I am quite busy at the moment, but I have a few weeks in the holidays.
