Though not of much use, it's a pretty interesting concept that could probably be used in other levels...or to decorate your moon with aces. | 2009-07-06 19:37:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
That was epic , off to go ace tie skipping now thanks! | 2009-07-06 19:38:00 Author: Final Recall Posts: 39 |
What's the point? You don't even get a score and there's no prizes for aceing. | 2009-07-06 19:44:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |

I can't see the video, can someone tell me what s/he did? | 2009-07-06 21:20:00 Author: dandygandy2704 Posts: 1002 |
I can't see the video, can someone tell me what s/he did? Turned off the controller. It's like "Try Again" but it doesn't count as losing lives. I'm sure this could be used for any survival challenges. | 2009-07-06 21:28:00 Author: tjb0607 Posts: 1054 |
On one hand, this is completely pointless. On the other hand, this is a great way to level out the story mode icons so that every single one of them have an Ace on them. Great for anyone with OCD. | 2009-07-06 22:26:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |

So if you were fast enough witht the start button you could use this technique to ace some of the story levels too? ie if you hit start if you realise you`re about to die? | 2009-07-06 23:00:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
^yeah, I've done that a couple times in levels where I know I'm on my last life, and get stuck in a wall or some bug of that type. Just shows how even MM levels have obvious fails at times... I just recently started noticing that the 2nd phase of the Collector sometimes drops his little sentry enemies crooked, and they just roll around haphazardly, or lay upside down til they're popped. Nobody's perfect | 2009-07-07 00:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hm, wait... so, this would work in other levels? Could it be used as a way to not die... or does it still cancel out a life? Eh, probably would be harder then to just figure out how to stay alive... | 2009-07-07 00:25:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
This could probably be used as a gameplay feature in a puzzle level It'd be really annoying turning off your controller, but just an idea Maybe it could be used to find a really well hidden secret area | 2009-07-07 00:48:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
Thanks for the feedback! This is more popular than I thought! | 2009-07-07 11:09:00 Author: BlackHairedGoon Posts: 160 |
I just thought this is how the glowing skeleton costume can be captured, there must be more uses for it... | 2009-07-07 12:04:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
You can also use it to ace story levels. You just need to pause before you die. I never did it but someone on this forum said it worked. | 2009-07-08 12:18:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |
I can't wait to play Tie Skipping now! Thanks for posting this- great find *edit* I don't get how to do it if you push the start button and then turn your controller off... It just stays on the start screen and you can't exit out of it because, obviously, the controller is off... ??? | 2009-07-08 21:08:00 Author: GrahamLif3 Posts: 386 |

It just stays on the start screen and you can't exit out of it because, obviously, the controller is off... ??? Have you tried it yet? Because once you turn off your controller, wait for I think its 12 seconds and your sackboy disappears, I THINK (think) that it exits the pause menu, the camera goes to the last activated checkpoint, and 'Press PS Button To Play!' appears. And then once you press the PS button, you spawn out of the checkpoint with no lives lost. | 2009-07-10 12:43:00 Author: BlackHairedGoon Posts: 160 |
I'll try it again when I get a chance, My sackboy disappeared but it stayed on the pause menu... Maybe I didn't wait long enough- | 2009-07-10 16:39:00 Author: GrahamLif3 Posts: 386 |
lolwut, so this can be used to ace bomb survival/survival challenges and get the prizes? major glitch right there. | 2009-07-10 21:05:00 Author: oldage Posts: 2824 |
Lols that is just lame very lame xD I liked your beard though | 2009-07-10 21:33:00 Author: Dexist Posts: 570 |
lolwut, so this can be used to ace bomb survival/survival challenges and get the prizes? major glitch right there. Lol, yep. Except usually in those levels you arent supposed to ace them, and there wont be any prizes for doing so. But, still. | 2009-07-14 13:37:00 Author: BlackHairedGoon Posts: 160 |
Lol, yep. Except usually in those levels you arent supposed to ace them, and there wont be any prizes for doing so. But, still. There are some where if you can survive all the way to the end, you get a prize for acing it. This can be remedied by not moving the checkpoint to the end until the player reaches the bottom. That way, even if they shut off and turn on the controller, they will just spawn somewhere above the level. | 2009-07-14 13:56:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
You could also use this to get onto the next level of the minigames that have easy medium and hard | 2009-07-16 12:46:00 Author: Plasmavore Posts: 1913 |
You could also use this to get onto the next level of the minigames that have easy medium and hard I don't think so, those levels have a checkpoint at the beginning, a race gate, and then a scoreboard. The checkpoint doesn't move. | 2009-07-16 12:56:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
I tried to do that, with 2 of my friends. But we both failed. And I don't think it's possible. I'm like 1mm away from the ledge. I bet your Sackboy is being healthy. Anyways, if there was an item to ace, maybe the guy... or the skipping tie.. then I'll do it. | 2009-07-16 14:28:00 Author: Unknown User |
I think this is pretty cool. But to use it in levels would be tedious. | 2009-07-16 21:26:00 Author: Unknown User |
Finally, my OCD towards the "uneven" feelings I get for un-aceable levels will be qualmed! Btw, it says the video was removed by the user.. I only figured out what you did because of the comments here.. >.> | 2010-06-28 03:28:00 Author: Avacadolord Posts: 22 |

Turned off the controller. It's like "Try Again" but it doesn't count as losing lives. I'm sure this could be used for any survival challenges. Correct, my friend was a little cheat and did that! | 2010-07-11 05:59:00 Author: Emogotsaone Posts: 1030 |
