Seriously doubt they would ever do this but..

Wouldn't it be great if Mm went back and made their winches, bolts etc. invisible? I mean, I know they have to keep them visible so people can learn how the things work but how about an option to play the "clean" version where they make the levels look as good as possible (no switches, bolts, winches visible unless it looks better). I don't know about you guys but when I see that giraffe on the header with all those bolts visible I just want to go in there myself and edit them invisible .2009-07-03 07:56:00

That's actually a good idea. I doubt they'd do it, but it would make lots of their levels look nicer.2009-07-03 08:53:00

Yeah i agreed with you, I seriously doubt they would ever do this as well

Well the thing is they don't have them visible because they couldn't make them invisible, but to show the new creators how they did it and give them ideas on how the whole thing works, or as a guideline.
Remember that story levels are pretty much just played by new-ish players since 100% of the bubbles are usually gotten within the 1st month, and after that you'd only go if a frined asks you to help the items.

I don't like this idea because the visible stuff is part of the style of the story levels. I guess I am curious to see how they would look without it, but I'm with them the way they are.2009-07-03 18:24:00

Well firstly, they'd have to move al the logic away as well and that's a slightly bigger job.

Secondly, Walter Kovacks is right - it's part of the artistic style of the levels. The community is obsessed with hiding their components, even when leaving them visible suits the level style*. I find it a breath of fresh air to see everything on display once in a while.

*Admittedly a lot of styles are ruined by visible components.

Yeah, I'd rather them leave it. The point is to show new players how the basic mechanics work, and there's still new players all the time.

Also I'd like them work on more important things... (Play, Create, Share bubbles....)

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day. Perhaps we could remake the levels to our liking 2009-07-06 20:22:00

Maybe an old tread but i think this would be a bad idea.

I agree it'd be interesting to see BUT i think seeing the pistons bolts and such are part of the MM style and also lets not forget that they help new people get an understanding of the system and how to use stuff in edit mode.

Sack knows it helped me understand the system more!

I think i read somewhere:
"The story mode acts as a kind of tutorial within itself."

And that sirs i agree with

well why can't it be an option
choosing visible or not
like the way it is with others?

that way MM could still show them
and creators can choose weather or not

That sounds like a cool idea, however, it would only would on certain levels, the collector boss for example sorta works with all the mag keys/switches visible, they just worked it into the scene, but the savannah levels and gardens would look cool if they were "clean" 2009-07-18 23:45:00

Exactly! This is what I was about to say.
