what you do is go in your level and delete anything that could ve possibly got your level moderated and then recreate it so it wont get moderated again and then re publish your level.

thats how i got two of my levels un moderated

Yes, i have deleted all characters and all words, no idea what else it could be... still says "moderated". how could elevators or switches be moderated? this is really strange. Spare Change 1 is still up and it was no different. 2 was probably the best level i ever made and it was no different at all, in fact it taught manners to players who got greedy and ahead in levels. had 1,966 hearts out of 14,000 plays. nothing offensive. all deleted and still no go....2009-07-03 06:42:00

My level got moderated for a sticker, all I did was deleted it and it let me republish. Try going to play mode and looking for any little thing that could possible get moderated whether it be for copyright reasons or something offensive for whiny little brats.2009-07-03 07:12:00

Welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about the level moderation. I'd second what brnxblze said. Do a walkthrough and imagine only 5 year olds are going to see it. Anything that might tick off a parent - get it gone. Good luck!2009-07-03 07:26:00

Welcome!

Maybe they ran out of spare change and wanted a frosty diet coke like I am about to have right now.

No seriously.. welcome and sorry about your level! Maybe someone else here played it before it was removed and could comment?

However, if you find you are still having an issue finding out what it is, you might try publishing it locked and sending some keys our way to take a look. I hadn't played it, so I have no idea.

Really too bad that they don't at least give you a note as to why.

However.. this is kinda starting to be a help thread rather than a WELCOME ...so WELCOME! Make sure you put up a thread in our level showcase for your surviving levels!

Thanks guys and gals for the warm welcome! Feels great, i couldnt figure it out, deleted everything, kimini dools, all words, i gave up. luckily i managed to salvage the gameplay elements and "captured" the platforming parts. and glued them into a new level. now just have to add back the stuff that was deleted. will let you know when complete. again thanks, i feel like i shoulda been a member here since day 1. Will check out the rest of the site, and try to particapate with you all in whatever troubles you lot decide to venture towards.2009-07-03 15:24:00

I had played your level previously, and I was wondering something:
Is it possible that there was nothing wrong with the level, it's just that some kids who didn't like your style decided it would be funny to moderate it? Perhaps they were jealous of the number of plays it was getting, or just were being jerks. I don't know.

Yes i think you are right on comphermc. My family and friends are blown away over how such a polite game that encouraged good player manners would get moderated. so strange.... Anyhow will be back soon, going to add more stuff and some x2 areas. Perhaps change the title and cover to prevent some haters coming back. Thanks for playing my level when it was up.

It ****** me off when levels get moderated for no reason (Yggdrasil's one example) whoever are the idiots that are doing the moderation need to get fired. How can you moderate a level for no reason without playing it yourself to see if there's anything wrong. Idiots...2009-07-03 17:28:00

Do they just mod levels that get good griefed without checking them? Is it worth running an experiment? Alt PSN with a completely inoffensive level and good grief it.

At the very least they should be required to give a paragraph on why. 200 characters. If you are modding properly you play the level for 5-15 mins so writing out a note barely adds to that. It's pathetic.

Hi fijski8, and welcome to the forum. Hope you have fun here!

As to your level, I'm sorry to hear it got moderated, especially without giving you a reason (I thought they were meant to do this now?). Anyway, if there isn't anything offensive etc. in the level, then perhaps you may have experienced some devious griefers.

I do know first-hand that their are groups of people who do this. There are certain people, who shall remain nameless, who I know for a fact contact each other when certain authors publish levels. They will either all rate low, or bombard the comments boards, or both. You'll sometimes be able to tell, as you'll get lots of 'You suck' messages or whatever at a similar time (yeah, I know, imaginative, aren't they?!!).

It's a sad state of affairs, I'm afraid. But don't let the bar stewards grind you down. This community is friendly, helpful and welcoming, and I know you'll be able to help out, and be helped yourself if you need it.

Cheers,
MrsSB

Wow, you must know. This is what happened to me. Not just Spare Change 2 but 4 other of my levels. I also got a few heads up from some fans that they were emailed a message saying to do the same thing. Upload "Sux" on my levels. O well, I guess this is LBP drama everybody talks about. I know who did it. I took screen shots of several mistakes he and his friends made. I won't mention the names. But Wow, LBP drama. I guess this was payback.

I just think it's a **** shame. Part of me could not care less about these idiots, but part of me is very angry that they spoil the very essence of what LBP is all about.

Same old story - the minority spoil it for the majority.

Keep the faith

Woah-ho! This guy is finally aboard. Welcome to LPBCentral! Now with that taken care of...

How in Heaven's name did YOUR level get moderated?! Out of all the levels I expected that precise one to be the last! I mean, have you seen some of the "Cool Levels" on there? "Can't Sleep, Clowns Will Kill Me" is STILL up!! That thing can provoke psychological disorders to little kids (KILLER CLOWNZ?! IT'S LIKE "IT" ALL OVER AGAIN!!) And STILL, your's gets moderated. Now this is really putting into question Mm's customer services. It levels to be encouraging! They're completely appropriate (if not, proper) fangers me that wee little buggers of snot would do that to people like you. I found your or the LittleBIGPlanet experience. What could you get "Good Grief"'d for? Copyrighting the beginning sequence of your first level? Using the term "dolls" to refer to the dolls? I don't see any way that yur level could've been moderated...

Unless it's to give other levels a chance?

Sorry to ask, but payback for what? I guess I don't quite understand their motivation to call out their minions to get your level taken down.

I have seen a few flame wars between creators that seemed to result in moderation on both of their levels. I suspect from them doing similar tactics. ..but they were also openly calling each other really nasty names on each others comments pages. That really upset me as little kids play this game and don't need to be subjected to that stuff. I did somewhere that at least one of them had their PSN account banned. I am guessing here, but possibly from too many "good griefing" attempts on other creators.

Wow.. too much drama for my brain to comprehend!!

Anyway.. good luck and hope everything works out!

I agree jwwPhotos, i build everything with my 6 year old daughter in mind, infact she told me to make a "Green Aliens" levell which became a great hit. I love this game and 90% of my friend list are under 18. So i always play with that in mind. That being said. you are right, i mentioned in another players comments how i thought thier level was unsuitable and that my daughter was 6 and i thought it was bad. So............ as a result, i got "payback". yes, I experienced LBP drama for my first time. Wow. Was it a payback, that ended up with my level being removed. I will think twice about writing a negative review on anyones level again. that guy is a joke. and he is not alone, he has followers. and ANYONE who writes a bad comment on his level will get attacked.2009-07-04 06:01:00

I sort of agree with you MrsSpookyBuz, but in my mind the ultimate responsibility for the level getting taken down lies with the moderators. If they just take down levels that are good griefed, without checking, then they just encourage this behaviour. It doesn't vindicate the perpetrators in any way, but essentially we are paying for a service (indirectly through console and game sales etc.) and it is just badly run.

I appreciate them taking the safe route of automatically blocking the level until they have checked, but they apparently don't check at all.

It at least seems that they don't check.. at least probably not for some time if at all. I'm sure others have better info, but it looks to me like if enough use the good grief button, then the level is moderated. I had "heard" or maybe I imagined that once the level is checked by the moderators and ok'd it might return.

I am wondering if it is the sheer amount of levels and possible good grief's that maybe they just don't have the staff nor budget to be able to do this and therefore an automatic process is all they can manage.

However, I do think someone or something has to check or investigate the reports themselves as I have seen comments elsewhere that suggest folks that abuse the good grief button have had their PSN removed.

..though that could possibly be an automated process as well. I have no clue. I've never used utilized that feature so I don't really know. I assume that you have to fill out some sort of form. At least that is what it suggests on the initial page I see when I have accidental gotten myself there by some stupid human trick. ..and usually standing in my pod..

Yeah I totally take your point about staffing, but then if a level gets a whole bunch of good griefs at once then that is good reason to actually check it out - because if legit it means that a lot of people are offended and the creator in question needs some kind of slap on the wrist. If not legit it the perps need a slap on the wrist. Week PSN ban is a good option IMO.

An automated system could process a level for assessment as well. Enhanced create mode viewer with text stripped out to view separately and all emitter and prize bubble objects visible would make human moderation quite easy. For a basic check at least.

They managed it with spore - I accidentally uploaded something very offensive that I made for my own amusement and intended to keep locally - I was banned within a few hours:blush:

I doubt it will change though.

Interesting.. I actually never though about moderator tools, but that would be quite good!! (referring to your enhanced create mode viewer). I come from IT, but strictly in an web based online application environment. So all the extra goodies such as moderation tools needed in the realm of contributor based online gaming doesn't really cross my mind until I start to think about "hmmmm how would I do that?".

Welcome to LBPC fijski8.

Sadly, there are all kinds of idiotic and childish tactics that are becoming prevalent in LBP...most of the reasons have been mentioned above.

And what rtm mentioned is also an issue...moderated levels with no follow-up with the creator, etc., to let them know what the issue is.

My wife had a level moderated back in Jan. It was her first level. No one contacted her to tell her anything. She found out about it a couple of weeks later, when she went to check how many plays it had. There had been no activity, and when she tried to play it, it said it had been moderated. She followed-up on her own at LBW, but all she got was maybe it was some copyrighted material, etc. She spent numerous hours going over everything, and finally found a sticker that someone else had given away in another level. If the moderators were doing their job, that never should have happened. It seems to be "hit or miss" with those guys, so I have a ZERO confidence level in their ability to do the job they are being paid to do.

Sorry for ranting...sore subject.

Welcome Fijski. Sorry about what happened to your level.

You are not on your own regarding the issue of pics being uploaded onto your levels. Someone uploaded "SUX" onto mine only yesterday. Must be from the same group of hit men!.

I haven't had a level moderated yet but I have had my speech starred out on the magic mouths. It contained the word 'happened'. I guess that must be pretty offensive
