High Def LBP PS3 Wallpaper "Sackboy The Painter"

Archive: 30 posts

I decided to make this wallpaper for the PS3 with an LBP theme It looks pretty good with the official Home theme icons, as they kind of look like stickers!

http://api.photoshop.com/home_dc8cf69fbc754a97803fbbcaacf6a5ae/adobe-px-assets/21395fe036d341c0a3279e9f64ae2944

Hope you guys like it, I'll be making more of these!

Basic Tutorial for uploading pics to PS3:

1) First you'll need a flash drive (usb key) or a memory card that is compatible with your PS3. On it you'll want to create a folder and call it PICTURE (capitalised). This folder has to be on the first layer of your card or drive (i.e. not in any other folders that are already on your card/drive)

2) Download the original size of the wallpaper and put it in that folder.

3) Insert the card or drive into the PS3 and it will appear as an icon in the top of your picture list (above the "Playlist" icon). Press X on that icon and your picture should be there! Then press Triangle for the options and select Copy.

4) Now get back out of the card/drive and open the picture. You'll hit Triangle while viewing the picture this time, select Set as Wallpaper from the pop-up options and voila, you've got yourself a fresh new Wallpaper!

Also, if you change your theme after installing the wallpaper, just go into the Background option in the Theme Settings menu.

That should cover it! Any questions feel free to ask them .

Yea you're right, I hadn't noticed that about the L, but I imagine people will know it's an L and yea, I added the airbrushed sackboy at the end, I didn't want him to grab the attention, rather leave it on the real sackboy and the ripped paper.

PS, I like your avatar, nice and sunny!

Love this Kapbam - where can I find it?

Just click above the picture (that yellowish box right above it) and it'll open up my friend!

I might also just send this and the next one (I'm about to upload it) to my psn friends' list.

Thanks for the comment Maltay, glad you like it!

I think you can use those little memory sticks like you get in PSPs. Thats if you have the PS3 with the right slot in. I think they took it out for 40Gb.2008-09-05 18:17:00

Yea I'm very meticulous, and I learn pretty quick so the more I doodle with Photoshop the better I get! Hope I get to put these skills to good use once I find a job in my field!

Dude, amazing work, but I can't bear this picture. Sackboys innocence is bringing out the good in me, when I locked that away YEARS ago.2008-09-06 01:27:00

Hehe, I know eh, when I think about it, I have been feeling more zen for some time now, right about around the time I found out about littlebigplanet. No joke, this game has a great influence on us! Turns the s and s into :hero:s!

Ah when it comes to photoshop, I use all means at my disposal, (not stealing anything of course, I woudn't have any fun doing that!) but the point of photoshopping is to create and/or to enhance, and that's why you can have custom brushes and such.

Actually, when you think about it, it's just like using new brushes or materials when doing arts and crafts. If I use a printed paper instead of drawing it in a maquette, is that any different than using pre-made brushes instead of spending hours trying to make lightning out of standard brushes?

I could go on, but that's basically my view on the subject, it should be noted, that I am also capable of fully original art, for example:

Get this: you type in photpshop brushes on google, and the first results are the free ones! Had I known it was that simple, I would have been using these for a while now! (someone else gave me the same info )2008-09-07 02:33:00
