PowerUps: Radio-Controlled Plane/Chopper

This is absolutely insane, but it could be a good idea.
Just like the paintinator, one power up could be a radio controller which moves a little toy plane or chopper with a crane or a little car.
This could help to create new kind of puzzles.

That could be used for absolutely amazing puzzles, but I just can't see it working it's way into LittleBigPlanet. It's a great idea, don't get me wrong, but it would change the very basis of LittleBigPlanet's design. There aren't any objects that take the attention off of the player really, except maybe the camera but that's a stretch. It would be a huge addition to the game though.2009-07-01 12:56:00

I hope to get your point and understand what you mean, I don't think of it like a controller which is locked in a certain point of the level (just like in the pod) and from it the sackboy must stop and then you use the tiny object.
I think of something like the paintinator, think of it like a PSController that shots controlled projectyles.

I do love the idea of toys for sackboys, I can imagine the sakboy taking control of a helicopter, with a little grabber on it so you could fly it around and drag stuff about.

Then I realised you could just put a jetpack in your level and do the same thing... I genuinely can't think of anything, it might be the heat melting my brain tho! Can someone give me an example of a puzzle that would be completely different to a jetpack-based puzzle?

hmm, on a small scale this could be done already with a remote vehicle and some switches. Only problem i could think of with this is that you cant go too far from the player, camera issue you see.

But it could be interesting little gadget to have,
i imagine it would be half the size of sackboy like little toy car (remind me of robin's remote control toy car in lego batman)

or just the ability to fly with planes.

It would be an interesting gadget, and I genuinely think it would fit the idea of LBP in some respects (it could be cute as hell if done right), but I still don't think it could add anything genuinely new to the gameplay, so I'd rather see more "useful" additions, to allow us to create something that couldnt' be done before.2009-07-02 13:06:00
