Mining game

I have this cool concept for a mining game, that is totally unique in every way. What you have: You get a jet pack and the "Canon Mining System", in which the system is in 3 parts. The part consists of a canon that stays in place where ever you put it. It has 2 little rubber feet, 90 degrees from each other, as a propping thing for it. The second part is the direction 2-way switch, that turns the direction of the cannon while is propped. The third thing is the button that activates the canon. You carry all three things separate, which adds to the challenge. You go to the actual mines, which you have to use the Canon Mining System to break through. Inside the mines are empty passages, rooms with special items, and monsters (including bosses). When you collect 4 fossils, you can return and then you beat the game! Would it be better if all three items were strung together with string? Or if they were separate? I thought it they were separate, it would add to the challenge. I guess if they are strung that would make it easier, and you don't have to worry about losing them, but I could make the string a bit long, so that it will seem like some sort of real mining kit. | 2009-06-30 06:53:00 Author: blacknumbers Posts: 79 |
Making the player fly backwards and forwards to carry a mining kit wouldn't make your level challenging, it'd make it tedious I think you need to rethink your cannon so it's fully functional as one object Just a suggestion, if it's a mining level wouldn't a drill be more suitable? | 2009-06-30 09:04:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |

I wouldsay thatsounds like a very interesting concept for a level. I would like to see how the cannon works as seperate pieces before stringing it together.
