The Sacktue of Liberty

Archive: 36 posts

Last week we celebrated the Summer Solstice with the release of the Druid costume available for free, which we’re pleased to see many of you enjoyed.
To continue the celebrations, we’re marking this years Independence Day by releasing a Sacktue of Liberty costume, available once more for free!

Featuring the iconic crown and robe from the Statue of Liberty, the costume also includes the famous torch of enlightenment, complete with glowing flames of fabric.

The Statue of Liberty (officially titled Liberty Enlightening the World) was a gift from France to the United States of America in 1886 to

commemorate the centennial of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.

Sculpted by Fr?d?ric Auguste Bartholdi, the 93m (305ft) high statue’s internal structure was interestingly enough engineered by Maurice Koechlin – none other than the designer of the Eiffel Tower.

It is now internationally recognised as a symbol of the United States of America, and a fitting choice to celebrate the United States of America’s day of Independence this July 4th.
Head over to the PSN Store this July 2nd to grab this limited-time costume in time for the big day.

And don’t forget that the Druid costume is still available this week, but for a limited time only, so make sure you download your Druid before Thursday; if only to secure yourself that awesome beard for your Sackboy.

Oh, great costume yet again. The dress looks kinda off, but it would fit with the cardboard mask to make a girly cardboard mask costume ;D2009-06-29 13:23:00

Looks nice. I like it how it's made out of cardboard. It gives it a very LBP sort of feel. If it's free I'll probably get this.2009-06-29 16:00:00

Yessssss another free costume! I hope the crown isn't attached to the hair and that torch looks awesome.2009-06-29 16:22:00

Can't see any use for the robe, but the torch has some possiblities I guess. I'm betting the hair isn't separate from the crown... so that's pretty useless imho. At least it's free though.2009-06-29 16:35:00

Thanks for more free stuff Mm!
I can't wait to download it. Many uses for the torch, even though I'm not a major costume maker.

I love the torch but I LOVE the color. Great job there. The robe would have been so much more useful if it were actually a fabric one - just think of the Greek Goddess possibilities. Oh well, I'll take her as she is. FREE!2009-06-29 17:44:00

Yeah... it's almost as if they realized how much easier it would be to give this cheap look away after making those horrible ICO costumes. lol

LOL!! That is cute.

Possibly just sticker a similar color on a dress to make a fabric robe?

I like the torch and crown at least. Wish the torch shot fireworks or something!!

Looks awesome, but why is a British company celebrating American Independence?
A large portion of their consumer base is American, and they want to keep their customers happy.

Stop sucking, it's unhealthy for all of us.

Anyways, the costume is awesome, and honestly the cardboard is a nice touch... it fits in with the theme of LBP being composed of crafty materials...

Is it still out?

Let's see, it was out July 2nd, and today's the 10th.
That would mean its been 8 days, and unless they changed the number of days in a week, i'm afraid you're out of luck m8.
