It's celebrity death week.

Billy, Michael, Farrah, Ed, do you think another celebrity will kick the bucket before the week is out?

Aw, he was suck a happy-go-lucky guy who always had a smile on his face. It's sad that there will never be another Billy Mays commercial, for us all to watch and laugh at.

I can bet that the ShamWow guy is happy right now.

On the funnier side, on his gravestone, they should put "BILLY MAYS HERE!" as that's what he'd always say.

That's really sad. He seemed to be a pretty decent guy if you overlook his career choice.

But I have to wonder - do the authorities know the whereabouts of the Sham Wow guy? j/k

Aww come on!! First Farrah, then Michael, then Ed, and now Billy?! Why are all the cool people dying?! Gosh, this is annoying!

This can only be a disaster once Hugh Hefner kicks the bucket, and judging by his looks, he doesn't have long...

Yeah... I heard this on the news earlier today. Weird.

I used to cringe every time he came up on a commercial.. I feel bad for his family and friends. Though I heard he was a multi millionaire it seems when he died, so he must have had something going well for him!! Maybe that could be my new line of work!!

jww here with another new fantastic product! Rocket Cheetah express cleaner! Hang on tight and you can get anything clean quicker!

...ahh well.. maybe not my thing after all.

I feel mostly sorry for Farrah Faucett. Over a period of time she slowly and painfully dies of cancer, and just when it's time for the world to remember and mourn the loss of one of TV's and the 70's greatest icons.... Ed, Michael, and Billy die and steal the show.

It kind of feels like when I was trying to release Splat Invaders and a bunch of bomb levels surrounded me and stole my thunder.

he is an icon who symbolizes american entrepreneurship and charisma. He has never sold a bad product and cared to tell the truth about his products truthfully. He had a style different than any other pitchman out there, and always caught your attention. He earned every penny of the multimillions he made.

He became a household name by keeping a distinct image.. Billy Mays you will be missed.

This thead was made to remember him for the great salesman that he was. Dont post here just to troll his image. its unneccesary.

This is the latest comic on CAD (don't think anyone has posted it :S)

http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comics/20090629.jpg

Billy Mays was a big deal to alot of people and even though I'm not American I can compare him to our Barry Scott, I dread the day that Barry Scott (not his real name) kicks the bucket.

Also a video of him being awesome: YouTube - Billy Mays Orders Food From A McDonald's Drive Thru

Seriously, you're the only person I know who hates EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD

Haha! Aww... c'mon! I like Christmas morning with big fluffy snowflakes falling, girls in bikini's, the original Star Wars trilogy movies, home made pumpkin pie... hell, I even like old re-runs of Cheers! How you came to this conclusion is beyond me? You're just mad because I don't know what half of the games or animated shows you refer to are.

he is an icon who symbolizes american entrepreneurship and charisma.

Wow... again!! Speaking the truth about his products... truthfully? Umm... okay then. Really... this is the guy you think represents American entrepreneurship and charisma? Funny.... as a Canadian, I would have though of someone like Ben Franklin, Charles Schwab, or John Deere for entrepreneurship alone... but hey - whatever floats your boat man. As for charisma and selling products truthfully...this guy would sell you a bottle of DDT if the pay scale was right (do you even remember DDT?)

When it comes to a pitch man's "style", he's no less annoying (or convincing, honest, informed, money oriented) than any other schmuck out there pushing products on late night television. It's his job. Sure he did it well, but it's not like he won an Oscar for acting his way into convincing you to buy that orange stuff to clean up your mess.... let alone isolate some gene that will decrease cancer in the general populous by 27.9%. "Style" does not translate into greatness... period. He was not poetic, he did not do anything great for his country, and he certainly did not move the masses in any way that deserves any mass mourning ritual. Don't get me wrong... he was a human being with family and friends who loved him... but there's no way I can belive he made any kind of a huge impact on your lives to warrant this thread. This is simply a thread that is something to "chat" about due to it's apparent coincidence to the loss of several high profile celebrities who have died this past week. Had he died a month from now... this thread would likely never have existed.

As for these "multimillions" you speak of... I think you are grossly misinformed. Sure he made a chunk of money... but he certainly was not worth more than just over a million.

As for accusing me of being a TROLL... I think you'd do well to watch your tongue. I don't take kindly to such insults and will squarely correct you in your uneducated and assumed views of who I am and my right to voice my opinions on this forum (without resorting to name calling) persist. I posted my views on MJ's passing as well (which aren't favourable either), but wasn't attacked with this kind of childish response in that thread. Before slinging negative labels in my direction, I would encourage you to not only look up the actual definition of a TROLL, but to look at my past history on this forum and take all my writings to the many posts I have responded to into consideration. Your final words to me... unnecessary. If you are looking for a war of words... you've definitely come to the wrong place my friend.

Rustbukkit, prepared to be flamed by a-lot of people soon...

Do I look worried?

looks like rustbukkit isnt showin up!!

That video of billy at McDonalds is awesome! i didnt think he would do anything like that in real life!

Oh... so you're a smart-*** too!? Good to know... I'll keep my eye on you and keep those who need to know "in the know". Just because I was away for a day doesn't mean I'm not "showin up" or even here (friendly advice for your future conduct on the forum). As for the "McDonalds" tape you refer to... WOW!! I can't even comprehend that you would even think he would do anything like that in "real life"!? Let's see...

Videographer in the front seat of the car taping for publicity... CHECK!!
Camera girl outside car taking shots for publicity.... CHECK!!
Billy talking and hamming it up for camera's for PUBLICITY.... CHECK!!

Sorry.... where is the "real life" part that I'm missing in this little turd posted on Youtube that was dragged up?

Now... to anyone else who would like to challenge me or make perceived attacks on my personal views of Billy and his insignificant impact in pop-culture or life as we know it, please read along carefully. I came to this thread, posted my views, and said my piece. If you would enjoy discussing the particulars of Billy's life in the media and his "worth" both as a public figure or monetarily, I would be happy to indulge you. If you would prefer to label me with anything other than "a contributing member of this forum with their own personal views"... I suggest you think twice before hitting the Submit Reply button.

Cheers!

How you came to this conclusion is beyond me? You're just mad because I don't know what half of the games or animated shows you refer to are.

No, it was simply puzzling until you said " Why don't we focus on more mainstream pop culture?" which seemed somewhat stupid to say on a forum about a video game where most other people play other video games!

Wow... again!! Speaking the truth about his products... truthfully? Umm... okay then. Really... this is the guy you think represents American entrepreneurship and charisma? This is another part that got me ******. Billy used every product he advertised, and he did so truthfully. He's not a con man. He reviewed every product personally and if he thought it wasn't sellable he wouldn't advert it. The comment you made about the DDT was a ****ed low blow and you deserve the rep I deducted from you. Correct, and I'd do it again, but I wouldn't want to sink to your level.

He wasn't annoying, and in a way, he was poetic. And your wrong. It was that shouting style that was his poetry, and that WAS what made him great, and that WAS why millions loved him, because unlike others he could reach out and not only that, he did it with ENTHUSIASM. He enjoyed his job, and that's why we loved him!

Don't get me wrong... he was a human being with family and friends who loved him... but there's no way I can belive he made any kind of a huge impact on your lives to warrant this thread. Man, it's like you walked your dog all over this post! It reeks with excrement! Hell, I guarantee it it, 2 months from now if he had died we would be at this same point, right here. He DID make an impact on us, and if you want a recap just read the above argument.

As for accusing me of being a TROLL... I think you'd do well to watch your tongue. OOOOOH, I am so scared. By the way, we've been here long enough to know very well what a troll is and I'm sure you're the exact definition of one. A successful one too, you got me fighting. But let me tell you something. You are, in simplests of terms, taking a dump on the grave of this man, whom I respected, and that is something I will not tolerate. You sir are a disgrace to all whom you call your family, if they're unfortunate enough to be around. The man was not in it for the money, besides supporting himself and his family. He was in it because he liked it. That was a point which Gondito brought to point out that he DESERVED that money because he was caring and passionate in his life.

Refute me, I wish for battle.
