The Ice Cream Palace by amblaze

Archive: 17 posts

Hey all,
I just signed up a week ago i wanted to share my new level with you guys. At first i didnt want to (not big on advertising) but then i felt it be a little selfish if i didnt share what i made here, after thats part of the reason i signed up.

Anyway, Ice Cream Palace was a very challenging concept. Unfortunately, i couldnt make it as extravagent as i envisioned it (due to the thermometer and or lack of skill.) But i did put a lot a work into it (and a heck of a lot of stickers) so i think its a decent level. Check it out if your interested. The name of the level describes it all.

I'll be looking foward to trying any levels you guys post.

PSN ID: amblaze

Edit: I'll give feedback to the first 5 level posts. sorry i just remember i got some things to do tommorow lol.

Okay here's my feedback .

+Very well made ice cream at the beginning
+The Ice Cream Parlor looked awesomely delicious
+The platforming with the ice cream was hilarious and all of them were well-made and thoughtful (like the scoops of ice cream you have to hang on to and it spins like a windmill.)
+The freezer was well-made
+Mmmm, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

Overall a very well-made and designed level. Your platforming with the ice cream were great. I gave it 4 stars and tagged funny.

Do you think you can give me some feedback on my "level" Sticker Museum? It's not a real level but I still want to know what people think about it.

I happened to stumble across this level before you posted here... It was a fun little level, nothing too complicated. As usual, you've mastered the LBP food genre (I believe you are the master). The platforming was clean and you obviously spent a lot of time making everything look like ice-cream! The ending with the spoon and the ice cream was brilliant... I don't really have much else to add (sorry).

I gave it :star::star::star::star: and a cute tag.

Shall we expect a pasta level next...?

Edit: no need to give feedback on my level. I've moved onto to creating the next installment. Plus, it just got spotlighted... (Yay!)

I found this level to be visually stunning, with lots of great gameplay. Plus, it had ice cream! Here's the feedback:

Pros:
+ Very nice visuals, and the ice cream looked very realistic
+ A brilliant choice of materials
+ A nice storyline
+ Great platforming elements
+ It was pretty long to say the amount of detail was HUGE
+ Nice uses of the paintinator
+ The part at the end is fun
+ Very creative idea.

Cons:
- Some parts felt a bit repetitive
- Didn't have any enemies.

Overall, I gave this level :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart. In my opinion it's the best food level out there!

hey brnxblze,

Checked out your sticker museum level. Its pretty cool. I like the character models you made and the whole museum feel to your level. The only thing is i dont find use for these kinds of stickers. I mean, i hate h4h and spammers as much as anyone but i dont see me voicing my displeasure at others that way. The hidden stickers i could use though.

I also played your house chores level and the junkyard one, both are really well made and fun.

Btw, im guessing your from the bronx? I used to live in brooklyn, now residing in queens. The only times ive been to the bronx is to watch yankees games lol.

compher,
thanks for bringing me to this site. No more food levels...for a while lol. I gotta tell you are really good at creating puzzles aside from making fun levels.

Yeah I lived there for a while, not anymore though. My parents made us move since it was a "bad neighborhood." Plus now we live in a house instead of our old crappy apartment .

Played your Ice Cream Palace level and have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Might be because most things looked ediable and i was hungry, but i liked the visuals alot, as well as the platforming segments.
Only down side is it made me want to go out and buy some ice cream...lol

Wow.... I had NO idea you were a member, and missed this thread being put on here. Love your levels, and my son and I always watch for new ones.

Played this one yesterday and absolutely LOVED it. I left a comment .

The one thing that came to mind was some of the areas you use the paintinator were simply stand, shoot to knock something down, and continue. It would give it a bit more gameplay to have those areas reset if you took too long to jump.

(however, that being said - I'm kind of known for making my games a bit too hard and having ratings suffer, so take it with a grain of salt)

GREAT job - 5 stars and a heart. (I also already had 5 star and a heart on your donut level!)

I DO have a thread for Starship Troopers of you have any comments (it's in the cool pages section of this thread)

I just played your level anf found it amazing, wait a minute.........(running away to get an icecream)......I'm back.

This level is exceptionally designed and the visuals really stands out!
The only issue I had is with the second paintinator+springboard that hadn't the strenght to launch my sackboy high enough.
After several attempts I was able to reach the ledge by a little-little-little more height and proceed.

If I had to type what I liked in your level I have to stay in this window until tomorrow, so let me say EVERYTHING.
I will be playing all the level of yours when I'll get the chance.

Rated :star::star::star::star::star: and <3, also hearted you as a creator.

PS
It seems that I rate 5 everything, but if I don't think it deserves 5 stars I usualy don't leave a comment.
So It's easy to understand why it seems that I rate everything 5 stars!!! lol

I don't think you really need to advertise this level with how much attention it's already gotten.

That said, i'd already played it before I saw this thread and it is a top-notch level.

The only things that I could say have already been said before;

I want to thank everyone that left feedback and for the positive comments. I'm a little suprised to be honest, i figured since my levels were on cool pages people would be hating, brushing off the level as just another food level that's only popular because its a gimmick.

Anyway, i'm working on another theme, so no more food levels. Besides, the wave of cheap, easy to make, food eating levels has already begun on cool pages. So im abandoning the theme just as people are getting sick of food on LBP. *Throws up*

Just because the cool pages say it's cool doesn't mean we'll hate I think we all have to respect quality work and occasionally the cool pages rewards that too.

Checked it out the other night and have to say I had a lot of fun playing. The platforming is solid and has some innovation to it. The strengths of the level are the visuals (nicely designed, cleanly executed) and some really clever material/sticker usage. Loved the "cherries" and the chocolate sauce stuff especially.

5 stars & hearted! Thanks for sharing it.... now where did my Moose Tracks ice cream go? ah - here it is - lovely!

I love your levels. First one I played was the GoW one and only just recently I decided to see if you had other levels up. Had great fun making my way through them. My favourite was the burger one!

This is another great one. The only thing I remember having any issue with at all, was that sometimes the camera angles are a bit askew. Once or twice I lost track of Sackboy as the camera was away to the side rather than side on and I was hidden behind scenery. I also found the second trampoline thingy was a bit under powered and could do with a bit of fine tuning.

Other than those, it`s fantastic. Great fun and so cute. 5 stars from me, and I`m glad you`re here at LBPC and I`m glad to hear you have other levels in the works since you`re one of the best designers out there.

This is a fantastic level, loved every second of it!
It looks really stunning and the amount of detail you've put into this is really great, the platform elements were really fun aswell!
Never thought you could get so much inspiration from visiting a supermarket

I'm gonna get myself a ben&jerry's now!
5 stars, heart and beautiful tag!
