(Beta) Runner on I-77 [EPIC POLICE CHASE]

Inspired by the ingenious design of "Crazy Train" I bring you the beta of "Runner on I-77"

Your apart of an elite squad of covert-op mercenaries, and your tasked with getting sensitive information for your client's rivals. After infiltrating and getting the target data the mission goes south from there and from then on your trying escape the police. And when I say escape the police I mean something along the lines of


Wow, I have to say, that was quite epic. Running along cars, killing motorcycle riders then taking their rides, running through school buses full of children, and destroying cop cruisers, cops, and a helicopter, it was all very well done and very intense. ....* it was a very fun level to play. .... Insanely good job.

I did all that and I still have half thermo har har :arg: working with treadmills is a gigantic pain and there are always some bugs. So for phase 1 I'll be needing even more input than what I'm getting now. The level is locked, so you may be wondering how do I even access your level and why even bother going through all the effort?

Well that is where the next part comes in. To access my level you have to go through one I have already published but it will be worth your while.
To get the key just go into "how to make better machines" by yours truly and go to the new room that has a large keypad. I've taken XVS1100's keypad design and greatly improved upon it. See here https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=p=229277#post229277

But instead of publishing a whole new level just so you can access the beta of one, why not just add that small task to a level you already have made and while your at it share it with the whole community.

The pass word is 1924, There is no sequence involved just the input.

So tell me what you think about it so far it may be in beta stages but I can assure you, you will not be disappointed

BIG EDIT! For people who want the key!
For new users who haven't attained the key so far, again just go into "how to make better machines" by me and sticker in the new code 1942 in order then press the green button if you make any mistakes you can either wait 30 seconds for the keypad to reload itself or press the red "reset" button, I'm even being extra nice and giving you the better keypad

This level has promise but there are a few little things that bug me.

-> The truck near the beginning is very dificult to jump into, I jumped and fell short quite a few times, so I started to rely on the spawn point respawning me onto the truck.

-> The moving spawn point is very annoying when you fall off the school bus accidently. The spawn point keeps spawning you onto the road and its not possible to move back to the bus.

-> The helicopter looked great but the spawn cloud covered it quite a bit so its not always in view, which is sad because what i saw looked awesome.

=IN SHORT=
Fix the moving spawn point. Try attaching new checkpoints on cars. Make the gaps shorter, so that jumps have a higher rate of success. Better music . I cant really say that this needs to be done (since its still beta) but maybe a diferent setting. Metropolis would be good.

2/5 The spawn point made it dificult to play this level. Should be the first thing you look at

did you try going inside it or did you try to use the car's suspension like a trampoline to get on the roof? The door can be shot open, I guess I should make the paint switch visible because the door makes a platform that is almost too easy to use

A little more detail on that issue, do you mean the back where the door is or the front? Directly on it doesn't even sound possible considering auto jump avoids that I'll have to try it myself

Can't switch the layers, or it would be impossible to fight the helicopter on the flatbed. I originally had it like that but the cloud would kill the heli or you would get sniped while spawning lol

If I give the level a background then the illusion of movement will be broken. The checkpoints I may consider and abandoning the moving spawn point all together but the point was to have a four players be near each other all the time, thus easier and funner for many people.


My responses in red for now I won't change anything but if enough people complain then I will abandon the idea of a moving spawn just because the level will need a humongous overhaul, and I'll have to consider where they will need to be

I just played it and I thought it was great except for two things
-I could not for the life of me jump from the helicopter blade on the flat bed cab. The blade kept vibrating and made it impossible to jump I tried for at least five minutes. it could have just been me though.
-It takes forever to kill that helicopter. I can see it being fun in a group, not so much by yourself.
Postives:
+I love those state troopers. They look hilarious
+I personally enjoyed the mobile spawn I thought it worked great.
+Nice refresh from the train illusion of movement.
+Nice challenge not too too challenging though.
+Could be a great series
Overall I thought it was great and can't wait for the final version. 4/5.

Thanks for the feed back, sorry it took a while to even update I've been busy with summer and all. Anyways the chopper IS a huge pain to kill (It takes 400 shots) but even with two players it can be downed in 5 minutes

Alright well for the next sequence (The first half of the level) I'm a little caught on what to do. I'm thinking of a sneaking mission for one part and the second part would be dodging a sniper crosshair while descending the building. From there you fight your way through the parking lot and I would some SC tricks to make you jump into the car chase, but I like having the heli sniper as the main antagonist in this level
