Wow... thanks for this... had no idea... The man was/is a musical genius. I have no idea if what has been alleged (his behaviour) is true or not... I just know anyone with that much fame and celebrity, if they don't have both feet solidly on the ground... man the machine will just eat you alive... I'd say his face is proof enough of that. They're saying coma... now... sad on so many levels.2009-06-25 23:14:00

Nice sense of humour... but I bet everyone just cringed at that.

Yeah... as much as I was horrified by all the scandals and his face in general... I aspired to dance like Jackson when I was a wee small lad, I still do in a way I can just barely moonwalk! KERPOW!

And he was pretty much the first music I was really into. I never expected him to die, I thought he'd live forever considering he is Peter Pan after all.

none of his videos are embeddable. But this goes out to all the dudes in Neverland

R.I.P... MJ's music was the first music I remember loving as a kid in the early 80's. I looked past all the controversy as much as I could with reasonable doubt, and not being old enough to know Lennon or Elvis in such a way, and much younger when 2Pac died... this impacts me in a different way. A world without Michael Jackson is a different place, and it's remarkable to me how much a celebrity of this status can be a part of your life, as naive as the attachment is.2009-06-26 00:59:00

Yeah for sure... it's unfortunate in my opinion.

It's funny, this morning my friend and I were discussing the loss of Ed McMahon and Farrah when he said "I wonder who will be next... it always happens in three's". I was all like, "You don't believe that 'happens in three's' garbage do you?" Then a few hours later I got a text from another friend about Michael. Weird.

Yeah I hope not though because truth be told I believe that most of those people made false allegations against him simply because they wanted to get some money out of him , which a lot did unfortunately.

It's a real shame that when you get that famous you become a target for all the gold diggers and scandalmongerers. It probably contributed to his demise because no matter what you thought of him he was still human like the rest of us.

No doubt the hangers on will be looking to make a fortune now he's gone too by selling their stories and 'miraculously' finding some never before released material. It's those sort of people that I class as the real freaks. At least he won't be around to witness all that when it happens.

R.I.P. Michael ( I nearly put his initials then but mine are the same so I don't want to tempt fate ) your musical talent will be missed for sure.

First tape I ever had was Thriller. Legend doesn't even come close to how influential he was in terms of 70-80's music. Regardless of all of the infamous lifestyle allegations etc., I did enjoy his music. I still have a few of my favorite tracks on my ipod. I hope he has peace now.2009-06-26 02:21:00

Wow... after 51 years, the "King of Pop" has finally passed on. This guy practically revolutionized the whole music spectrum and altered the 80's. Wow. I'm just shocked. My friends are probably rejoicing, though (curse you South Park). Shame that, although a very successful entertainer, he had been constantly criticized for child molestment (each plaintiff has been engaged in illegal activities, including one that robbed four stores, one that stole a sketch Michael made, and one that hosted... well... a "naughty" site...). I can just feel the world mourning over his grave, seeing the King past on to better things. Rest in peace, Michael Jackson; your legend has endured and will endure on for generations to come.

And just to think that his publisher was Sony...

I also feel sorry for him...but I noticed Outlaw Jack's text in his sig really says something opposite to what it sounds like he feels in this thread...

I probably wouldn't have noticed normally, but since I have limited bandwith, I'm blocking images from loading to conserve, and so I see the text in his reply then the sig's text right after it...

This does seem very sudden. I was never a fan or anything, and I've hear a lot about him and kids, but I never expected him to just die...

All day, everywhere I went I kept hearing his name. And everyone was playing his music. He's had quite an impact, hasn't he?

Well, just speaking for myself. He will be missed. I loved his music. One of my favorite songs of his was dirty Diana among many others. He was a true talent and I don't personally believe the allegations which is all I'll say about that. Still, there will be no other artist like him. I'm not religious, but I hope somehow he finally now has peace.2009-06-26 21:20:00

Well, I grew up in the era of MJ's accusations... So never got close to him. However, I always thought that the charges were true, with no doubt lingering... I guess I was wrong, with MJ not being 100% guilty with it...

In any case, now that I know that he may be innocent, it is a lot harder to say goodbye... life seems kinda weird without MJ being... SOMEWHERE.

Well, MJ... hope your death doesn't turn into a media circus. RIP.

Nice to see those North Koreans spending time on something actually worth watching. Though Kim Jong-Ill was reportedly a huge Jackson fan and an excellent moonwalker.

...how sometimes it easier to believe the worst about people, the human race, Us; in general. Everytime, and I am not mis-speaking here... everytime, somebody comes around to lift; our hopes, our minds, our dreams, our collective conscious... man, we love to lift 'em up - just to tear 'em down. I always found Michael eccentric, but never thought him 'bad or dangerous'.

...how his staunchest supporters, Liza Minelli, Quincey Jones, Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Deepak Chopra... (to name a few) all had extremely open public lives with plenty of life experience between... I always wondered how it was that Michael was able to ' universally snow' such worldly and seemingly wise people, if every allegation leveled at him were true?

...what type of parents would place their children in a madman's unsupervised care? Always felt it should have been their trial in the first place. Have you ever really thought about that? Finally, he was acquitted I might add, by a jury of his (ahem) peers. The jury didn't find the child believable! Go figure?

He bought the elephants mans bones; he molested children; he built a theme park; he slept in a hyperbolic chamber; he bleached his skin...

YouTube - HOW ? Did Michael Jackson skin turn white ? (please Share

... this video was there all along but I never thought to search for it... I never found Michael all that odd, really. There were some bizarre times growing older with Michael... but i always thought; if it had been my lot, my life, blessed with such grace of talent, such fame, celebrity, and wealth... if it were my little fishbowl inwhich to live... would I be viewed half as kindly? or would I simply be found repulsive???

...Michael, the self-proclaimed 'King of Pop' had self-loathing issues and no one, or thing, to keep him in check. No balances. What-the-Hell is a 'King of Pop!' anyway?

He was that, and so much more to me... In my fantastical eye of the imagination I saw him so lonely... and I would reach out to him just for the simple grounding pleasure of a conversation with the mundanity. It's been like this for many a year. Of course I never did... who would even try to reach-out and help the Grandest star in a universe filled with such sweet beauty and wonderment? Of course, the answer is no one... or perhaps there is just no reasoning...

I find it interesting... I am really at a loss over a man I did not even know and never met. Perhaps we were more wrong than we will ever really know.

Thanks Gravel for that wonderful post.

I'm happy to see people actually let the court of law speak for itself instead of making assumptions about Micheal. Personally, if I knew for a fact that Michael Jackson had molested my children...there wouldn't be any amount of money on this earth that would keep my mouth shut. I don't think you have to like MJ but to wish that he would burn in hell with all the pyre of self-righteousnous? Especially, without proof or certainty that he was guilty of his accusations?

To do so, in my honest opinion, is beyond Puritan and quite frankly pathetic. It is also the only thing all of his malcontents can cling on to to discredit the very factual legacy that he has left behind.

It just burns me to the core how some people can be that way. I'm not saying to deify the man. I'm just saying I hope he can get the respect that he deserves.

So, the speculators can speculate but the fans can appreciate what he has done humanitarian wise, the difficult life he has led that may have caused much of his self loathing, and above all else his music.

Because that's what it was all about anyway.

Most of my memories of Michael Jackson come from listening to his music with my cousins when I was younger, and it's been wonderful revisiting his music now, but sad that he's gone.

I never knew him beyond his music, so I don't feel it's my place to judge the person he was without any real knowledge. And didn't someone here post that the kid he had to settle with admitted to lying about it? And he was found innocent of the latter charge.

Either way, I will never know for sure whether that aspect of his life was true or not, and it does not matter to me. I respect his music, and I'm sure that I'll continue to listen to it for a long time...

Such a sad thing. I have like 20 of his songs in the mp3, and I really felt like a kick on the face when I kew about his death.
In my opnion, he was one of the best singers of the century, innovative and like a real, real good dancer. Such a showman.

I can't talk about his personal life either, but I always felt that if really happened something about the child abuse thing, it's been so very much overexagerated.
I mean, c'mon, rumors about the king of pop abusing of a child? That's fresh meat to the media, and I can't even begin to imagine how much money has that moved.

What to say? Such a legend has dissapeared :S
