Hi all, anyone seen this yet? I've missed the first episode last week second one is tonight at BBC2 - 23:00 I'm a huge fan of their previous work (the league of gentlemen, one of the best brittish comedy's IMHO) really looking forward to this, because it looks even more sick, dark and twisted. little teaser... YouTube - "Psychoville" teaser misty. | 2009-06-25 13:36:00 Author: Mother-Misty Posts: 574 |
I watched this last night and it was excellent! Lmao @ mum telling her psycho son "you can't drown him in cold water...he might freeze to death!". I was a big fan of LoG, and I'll be sure to follow Psychoville. Anyway, thanks for bringing it's existence to my attention. I usually stick with the satellite channels and I don't even look to see what's coming on BBC, so I would have missed this altogether if I hadn't spotted your thread here at LBPC. | 2009-06-26 12:31:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
Awesome! I was was just talking about the League of Gentlemen the other week and wondering what they were upto now that they don't seem to be planning on making any more series of the League of Gentlemen. I'll have to see if I can find these episodes online somewhere since I don't live in the UK anymore. God I miss British comedy. | 2009-06-26 16:04:00 Author: Sosaku Posts: 146 |
I watched this last night and it was excellent! Lmao @ mum telling her psycho son "you can't drown him in cold water...he might freeze to death!". ah, more fans, cool! That was hilarious! Loved the e-bay sisters as well Glad to hear i'm not the only one with this... weird sense of humor I really like psychoville, the characters and atmosphere are just brilliant, pitty i've missed the 1st episode Here is what i could find on wikipedia, it's the story behind it "The series revolves around five different characters from different parts of Britain: David Sowerbutts (played by Pemberton), a serial killer obsessed man-child who still lives with his mother Maureen (Shearsmith); Mr. Jelly (Shearsmith), an embittered one-handed children's entertainer; Oscar Lomax (Pemberton), a blind millionare who collects Beanies; Joy Aston (French), a midwife who treats a practice doll as if it is her real child; and Robert Greenspan (Tompkins), a telekinetic panto dwarf in love with his Snow White. All five are connected by a mysterious blackmailer who has sent them a letter each, all of which contains the same message: "I know what you did?" still 5 more episodes to go before the mystery will be revealed misty. | 2009-06-26 22:38:00 Author: Mother-Misty Posts: 574 |
I'm really getting into this now, did anyone watch episode 3? It's annoying how every single episode leaves you with more questions than answers, but I suppose thats the point | 2009-07-03 20:47:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
I'm really getting into this now, did anyone watch episode 3? Yeah, the more i see it, the more i love it! Already looking forward to episode 4 It's annoying how every single episode leaves you with more questions than answers, but I suppose thats the point I wouldn't call it "annoying", it's part of the mystery I don't know if we ever gonna get clear answers, i'm still wondering what those nose bleedings in the league of gentlemen caused, or what "special stuff" actually is misty. | 2009-07-07 11:35:00 Author: Mother-Misty Posts: 574 |
You didn't happen to listen to BBC radio 2 one saturday morning did you? Johnathon Ross was interviewing 'the pemperton brothers' and apparently episode 4 is something special! | 2009-07-07 11:52:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
i'm still wondering what those nose bleedings in the league of gentlemen caused, or what "special stuff" actually is misty. My personal theory is that it was related to all the missing people you see throughout the series. The meat was actually the missing people so it was the cannibalism that was causing the nosebleeds. That's my 2 cents anyway. | 2009-07-07 17:23:00 Author: Sosaku Posts: 146 |
Whoa... has anyone noticed that most of the posters in this thread are "Patch of Cloth"? Odd... | 2009-07-07 18:31:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
You didn't happen to listen to BBC radio 2 one saturday morning did you? Johnathon Ross was interviewing 'the pemperton brothers' and apparently episode 4 is something special! no, missed that, "special"..... hhhmmm, you've made me even more curious! My personal theory is that it was related to all the missing people you see throughout the series. The meat was actually the missing people so it was the cannibalism that was causing the nosebleeds. That's my 2 cents anyway. hm, maybe. I was thinking something along those lines too. The people in Royston Vasey have something with raw meat and the people who visited "the local shop" and never left (which is just about anyone) has to go "somewhere", for some reason (and don't ask me why ) i think it has got something to do with "eyes" as well misty. | 2009-07-07 18:41:00 Author: Mother-Misty Posts: 574 |
