Just watched it, absolutely amazing. Michael Bay is really good.

They've announced Transformers 3, officially. You'll find out towards the end of the movie.

I saw it, I think it sucked. Special effects was awesome, but the plot was - well, there was no plot. Myself and a friend of mine were just lolling throughout the whole film xD We sat next to a really dumb 12 year old as well. "Is that sand?!"2009-06-25 17:26:00

Did you expect it to have a plot? I mean if it did who was going to act out that plot? Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox? This film is mostly what I expected from it - badass robots beating the crap out of each other interspersed with Megan Fox running in slow motion in a low cut top

Although the whole college thing was especially lame, especially the transformer at college BS.

Critics have destroyed this movie! Check out it's average on RottenTomatoes or MetaCritic - it's under 50% on both. But that's cool because it gave me low expectations when I went to see it, so I ended up loving it!2009-06-26 00:38:00

Some parts were a little out of place, like the college part and the 2 icecream van robots. But dang, everything else was amazing!2009-06-26 11:04:00

Saw it a few days ago (was it out early in the UK?). Excellent action movie, non-stop from start to finish. The battles were amazing, loved the one in the forest. Can't believe the rottentomatoes reviews are so bad. I mean it's an action movie... and the action sequences can't be called anything but excellent.

The two transformer rapper guys were hilarious as was the little dude in the garage near the start. Laughed far more in this one than the last one.

Anyway I'd say a very entertaining 2.5 hours, I'd definitely watch it again and screw rotten tomatoes. I seriously can't understand what was wrong with the movie for it to do that badly.

Rotton tomatoes is a joke. Seven Pounds got like 9% on there or something stupid. Most of the critics have biases towards certain genres / styles / aspects of films and don't know how to judge a film for what it is. This is clear if you actually read the bad reviews of good and decent films.2009-06-26 14:15:00

Well Seven Pounds... well it wasn't THAT bad but I HATED the ending. Not so much what happened in the larger sense but just how it happened. Can't give details without ruining it:

Like would the jellyfish poison not make the organs unsuitable for transplantation... also... jellyfish... I mean... really?! Completely destroyed the impact that his sacrifice should have made. Reminds me of the original ending to I Am Legend.

Still on the whole was a good film with good acting. And I really love the title of the film. Just watched Hannibal there, forgot how excellent that film is... and only got 44% on rottentomatoes. Ridiculous. It seems that the only films that get good reviews are foreign ones... are the reviewers so jaded that only something completely different to the norm can excite them?

I've read some really negative things about the twin robots... Should I still see this movie?2009-06-27 09:44:00

Haha, yes DEFINITELY! I thought the twin robots were hilarious but can see why other people mightn't have liked him. I mean the film isn't meant to be taken seriously and this was just one more fun element. The whole film was much funnier than the previous one and I thought that was a good thing.2009-06-27 20:23:00

I saw Terminator Salvation the week before, and this compared to that, well, the film in my opinion was kinda lame. Plus, Transformers had no ROFLBOTS (nickname we give to terminators), although it did have a giant vacuum cleaner which PWNED!

Terminator Salvation was quite boring for me, but Transformers was great, with all these things that just want you to keep watching, and not miss a second.

The robots were BEAUTIFUL, and so detailed they were great, except I didn't like the twins faces, they looked like messed up gangster rats. And the scene with Devastator (I think that's what Starscream called it) was amazing and so awesome. I just loved how they all turned into one massive creature, really sticking to the Hasbro toys. Then when the twins stated beating it up was really cool and funny at the same time.

There was one thing that kind of bugged me though; The twins and the RC Car robot just kind of disappear. The RC car was gone just before they got to the robo-tomb, and the twins disappeared after the fight with Devastator. Also, that girl robot was strange, I never knew that the decepticons could turn into humans! o_0

Overall, a great movie, I loved it all the way through!

One of them saw Terminator I think

Did anyone else think for a brief second that the temple where they found the Matrix was similar to the one in Indy Jones and The Last Crusade? They're actually similar, but after some comparison, I found they were different

I'm suprised at how biased reviewers can be, i've even seen metacritic giving high scores to hyped games and low scores to great movies

I really want to see this anyway!
I didn't like the first movie because i only had a cheap copy and when it's low quality it just looks like random bits of metal flying around

I've seen the trailers though and some of the evil robots in this actually give me genuine fear, it's really weird getting that feeling from something on a screen!
It's not like the "oh no something's going to jump out" type of fear, it's more like "halp o_o".
Maybe i can be a bit separated from reality sometimes

It's not stated in the film, but what happend is that the robot scanned an animatronic human at a theme park.

I heard it's worse than the first, and that Bumblebee cries... I'm definitely not expecting anything about it to be good (Megan Fox all sweaty and running around, and the special effects excluded)2009-06-29 20:15:00

I don't know man, shouldn't a good action movie be more than just a story-less explosion fest with giant fighting robots and stupid jokes? Even Michael Bay himself has made stellar action in the past - The Rock, for my money, is one of the best over-the-top action movies of all time. Proof that ridiculous explosion-packed action with hokey jokes and car chases can still be incredibly good.

And now we have stuff like The Dark Knight, which was incredible, a comic book action movie that also happened to be one of the best movies PERIOD of the entire year.

I can't say too much about Transformers 2 because I haven't seen it in the theater. But I have seen probably over 2 and a half hours worth of Transformer 2 ads, trailers, commercials, posters, and product tie-ins every **** place I look, which I'm assuming is good enough. I remember the first one with its Xbox 360 transformer and Panasonic SD cards and Chevy commercials and holy **** enough already!

I'm going to pay 13 dollars to watch 2 and a half hours of useless action, half of which is probably packed with commercials for products I don't want? I don't think I can do it. There has to be SOMETHING engaging there for me. For me personally, seeing stuff blow up kind of lost its luster after I hit 19. Don't get me wrong. A good explosion is a good explosion. The hospital blowing up in The Dark Knight for example. It just happened to be surrounded by incredibly engaging characters and a classic story.

Did noone else think this was a terrible movie?

From beginning to end i was cringing because of how bad the acting and script was, any potential comedy seemed too immature.

I was close to walking out but i just wanted to see that cool vacuum robot in the desert

Yeah but... Megan Fox

And i liked it, as long as you don't pay to much attention ot the lack of a plot, and pay attention to the action... It's all good...
