Score Bubbles

Archive: 14 posts

Is there a way to increase the value of a Score Bubble? I put a couple Bubbles in a really small space, and I want the player to get a good score if they manage to reach that space, but I don't want to crowd up the place with lots of Bubbles. If possible I just want one Bubble, but for it to be worth a lot.

I tried just making it bigger, but that didn't work, and now I'm all out of ideas.

You can always shrink the bubble and copy it, that way it they won't take up that much space.2009-06-23 02:30:00

Well, prize bubbles give 50pts, which is X5 of what score bubbles give, you can shrink and use those instead, they'll give a bigger score, and more if there's a combo.2009-06-23 02:37:00

Or if you have room somewhere else you could place a bunch of brains (just on blocks or something simple)

brains are each worth ten points

You place a single large-ish score bubble in the area and place a key on it with a switch nearby to detect when the player gets it. You set the key switch to one shot and attach it to all the brains, when they get the single bubble the key switch will detect it dissapear and it will destroy all the brains, resulting in a large amount of points for semingly a single bubble

maybe you could even decorate the bubble to signify that it is "special"

Well, that is a good idea IF you're free on termo as brains usually take a lot of termo, so placing a lot will probably leave you with little space yodo anything else.

Sort of depends on how many you need, Its five to a x2 right? so thats only four brains. Shouldnt be too bad, unless your want like 100,000 in one go.2009-06-23 03:06:00

FIRST OF ALL, let's get points straight...

TEN points for a point bubble

TEN points for a brain

FIFTY points for a protected brain

FIFTY points for a prize bubble

I always think it's fun if you have a little grabby thing that makes something shoot a load of point bubbles at you when you grab it

It makes it even more rewarding for the player, and you can give them any amount you want

@crazy mario yeah those figures were what we were opporating on

@dexiro 'facepalm' :eek:wow i have got to stop coming up with insanely complex ideas for simple problems, i have no idea why i didnt think of using emitters (those i suppose if he just wanted the bubbles sitting there)

No, all brains result in the player being awarded 50 points. I was playing literally 30 seconds ago. Unless the creator of Mari0 Bros. has set it up so that each creature brain is worth more (which they haven't), it's 50 points.
