Hey everybody

Archive: 13 posts

Just though I'd introduce myself. I play lbp just to have fun but making levels is the best part, especially trying to figure out ways to make things work. I'm currently working on a "crazy train" like level except instead of jumping from train to train your jumping from car to car, while a police helicopter follows you complete with sniper. I plan to have a couple of surprises as well so I'll keep you guys heads up . But my main reason for coming here is some inspiration, I'm looking for some good ideas or mechanics to improve on.

Oh yea just one question though, any thread to point me towards and any terminology I might need to know?

Hey, where are you? >_<

Welcome. I'll leave terminology to others since I am on my PS3 right now, but remember this: peanuts. Trust me.

Welcome! I'm not sure what kind of terminology you're looking for but there's a section about how stuff works around on this site here

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=82931

For LBP terminology? Browse around - help section would probably where I'd start if you're looking for tips. Any problems or questions people have usually get answered there.

Have fun!

Welcome Waldo. Sorry it took me so long to get here, but I couldn't find your thread.

Check out the Objects forum for some very interesting mechanical information--and be prepared to read for hours.

AHA! Took me long enough, but i finally found you! Now where is that blasted wizard...

seriously though, welcome to the forums I'm not sure theres much terminology you need to know, aside from what the parts are called, but i assume you can figure out what a piston is You may wish to familiarise yourself with a few things like logic gates and player tracking devices, but thats about it.

enjoy your stay, look forward to the level!

F4F is always good! That's feedback for feedback, and if you want to display a level here and are willing to offer other people feedback on their levels, try this!2009-06-23 05:34:00

I see you've been pretty active already - posting here and there. Way to jump right in! As has already been said, you are going to want to look into learning about logic gates. There are some members here who have created levels specifically designed to teach logic, so look out for them. They are complicated at first, but soon you'll learn the little nuances of using specialized switches, and it'll really improve the overall quality of your levels. Welcome again, and have fun!2009-06-26 01:28:00
