Obstacle ideas?

Archive: 17 posts

I'm making a Fallout 3 level, and I need some ideas for obstacles and and dangers. I've got a few already, but I need some more. Please help!

Well, you could make the edges of the level "RAD intensive" areas. You can make Super Mutant Behemoth bosses that have a Fat Man gun and the player has to dodge the shots and kill the behemoth with the Paintinator.

For inspiration for obstacles in a Fallout 3-inspired level:
1. Put in and play Fallout 3
2. Play until death (in-game of course )
3. See what caused death
4. Implement similar situation in LittleBigPlanet

I might be able to do that Behemoth. But so far I have things like using a snapping power line as a bridge up a building, traversing a lake, all because I'm making it in MY TOWN of Rockford. Not a lot so far . . . .

*Playing FO3 and obseving is impossible for me because I have FO3 on the 360, which is at my Father's house. :S

I might add a plane sequence, right now I'm thinking of renovating the entire level!

You can make an alien vessel crash into the ground and you could get some type of Alien Blaster weapon. That would be interesting to see implemented in a level.2009-06-22 11:15:00

Landmines
Maybe rubble to shift in the metro stations, puddles of radioactive goo on the floor and..Hanging corpses put up by raiders?

I like that landmine idea. I don't think there are many metro stations around my area; I'm trying to get it like my city, which is a little South of Chicago in Illinois.2009-06-22 19:20:00

I'm sorta having trouble with landmines, being in any row will set off a motion sensor. I have a button right now, is there a better way?2009-06-23 05:17:00

do you want the landmines to only go off if you're in a certain plane? If so, you should use a spotlight (its a planar sensor switch). With the CY patch, you can change the radius of the spotlight, so its a 360 degree sensor, so you don't even need to have that pesky light showing face up!2009-06-23 05:34:00

I'm still a little short on ideas. I need at least 2-3 more solid minutes or game play ( I only have, like, 50 seconds of gameplay! ) . I'm gong to try that idea with the mine.2009-06-23 21:30:00

To clarify here, the spotlight is just a spotlight. The searchlight from the MGS pack is a planar sensor switch.

Tsk Burnbictim! And yes I realise i misspelled your name, I'm not gonna change to make you feel even worse
