Awesome TJB logo I just made

Archive: 10 posts

I just made a logo that was going to be used as my avatar and O want to show you it so far. I'm going to add more spray paint effects and everything so it looks nicer. I saved it as an SVG because you can zoom in as much as you like to look at the detail. Because it's SVG, You can't open it with many programs. Firefox and Google Chrome can open it, so you should try one of those.

What do you think? I'll add a PNG of it soon.
EDIT: Here's a PNG version:

The SVG is higher quality because there's no limit to how much you can zoom in.

It opened for me with Google Chrome. It's very simplistic, but still effective and cool looking.

I like simplicity, but I tried taking it down to 100x100, and it loses the spatter effect

Does your original file have the separated layers? If so, I might be tempted to either a) change the colour of the spatter slightly or b) put a glow around the spatter to make it stand out more.

If you're using as an avatar, how about keeping the spatter at the same size and re-position over the smaller letters? This would keep the resolution high, but I'm not sure where you'd put them to keep the same composition...

I can't wait to see what you do with the airbrushing.

Loving it so far...

Actually with SVG, (Scalable Vector Graphics) It saves each and every shape, so I can re-arrange the little tiny circles from the splatter effect to any way I want. I can easily make a new layer and move the TJB part to that new layer, lock the layer, and select all the tiny splatter circles and change the color. That's what I like about Inkscape. I was planning on adding a bit more splatter on the B part and some along the J... I'll do that when I get home.

About the 100x100 splatter thing: I was planning on getting a Bundle or Donating to LBPC before I use it as an avatar. Or I could add an outset to the splatter... I'll probably do that.

I don't think 'awesome' is something you should straight say on the first post, but rather let people say if it's awesome or not. But oh well.

Depending on what you wanna use that logo for. If you wanna use it just for board signs and avatars, I guess it's good enough (though on your avatar, the splatter around is already hard to see), but if you want to use it in something else, it's not very good. Mostly because the spray effect can't be hard to see at smaller sizes and will just look weird.

But then again, I guess you just wanna use it as an avatar. Then it's good enough.
