Hi, I just played this level and thought it was quite good - I liked the idea behind it, and the height and length of the level gave it a real sense of it being a voyage the sack-boy (or in my case, girl) was on. I only have a few comments, nothing major, just some input. - The 'lost soul' at the beginning says 'Mamoth', not Mamroth ![]() - The lost souls near the end should say get 'past', not 'passed' ![]() - The level was really dark, I found. Maybe it's just my screen but I found it too dark sometimes to see what was going on or what I should be doing. - For the boss there should maybe be a speech bubble that says that you should find the levers to damage his health cos I died a few times, but again, that could just be me. I think it's a good level and a good concept, and with a little tweaking it could be really really great. Level runs much smoother now and much easier to know what's going on (hopefully :S) + 1 new small mini game. Sorry it's taken me so long to get round to playing this, but I've had a busy week and I needed a rest ![]() Pros: + The waterfall is brilliant + Some nicely positioned checkpoints + The design of the Rock Golem + Nice hidden point bubbles + Nice idea to have HP on the Rock Golem Cons: - Rock Golem doesn't disapear when you defeat him - There was a lot of running along with nothing else to do. I would of had to make him out of dissolve material to make him dissapear and it would of looked ugly for a green monster, I might make him fall down into a trap hole or something in the next update. Played it tonight and overall thought it was pretty good. You have some awesome stuff going on like the plotline, interesting lighting (I have a HD TV so it wasn't dark for me), and The BEST wall of candles in a cave I've ever seen.... really liked that - reminded me of Indiana Jones style caves with some strange and spooky alter.... I digress. Few things need to be adjusted to take this level to the next level of quality (imho). Coxy224 already mentioned this but I have to agree strongly - long walks with not much to do kill the flow of a level. You've got a few of them and the first one along all the trees is really long - followed by a ton of jumping up stairs..... people generally don't like a ton of stairs - especially after a long walk. I do like the lighting in the woodsy section so I'd suggest shortening it (you could move the front of the level to the right to make this an easy fix. The boss doesn't finish with a bang. I know you have a mouth saying we defeated it but why say it when you could show it. Blow it up, Dissolve it, make it sink into the floor, make it fall apart - just something visual to let the player know it's dead and gone. It's like saying "my that was a large explosion" versus seeing a video of one... more dynamic to see it and satisfying too. The only other issue I had is when you're a soul - you need to jump down into the middle plane from the checkpoint. Since you can't see with the bright light it's frustrating and since you end up there at least once or twice from the gas on the stairs it gets frustrating repeatably. I'd suggest moving the checkpoint up a plane or getting rid of the material beneath it so the player can just push left and be on their way. Should be done by tomorrow. The only thing I can do is add anything like to make it look less empty, the thermometer is maxed and I can't even add a single thing, I deleted like half the stuff that was originally on the level just to make room for the mini game to power the lift on. I might try and delete some of the point bubbles or unseen walls to make room for extra things to do. I forgot to mention the lift section too. not much going on there. To save thermo try reducing the number of points on your shapes, keeping the different materials to a minimum and checking your emitters for the minimum number you can get away with.
