Do you use the music player during create/ in your pod?

Archive: 21 posts

everyone started asking for one during create mode when it wasn't released yet, but once it was released EVERYONE started running around their room, because they find create mode boring without music. (well you know what I mean...)
so my question is, do you still use it after you've used it once?

My only problem with it (and maybe I'm just a noob here and someone can set me straight) is that, while the PS3 recognizes the media server I have set up over my PC music library, it will not allow me to select or play music from it. I have to copy everything down to my PS3 HDD first. What's more - even with the music that I have copied - there is no 'Select All' option, so then a playlist must first be created if you want to shuffle through your music. Which brings me to the fact that I have to re-select my playback mode (Repeat-On/Off; Shuffle-On/Off) every time I start it.

So while I still use it, I find it unfriendly, clunky, and a bit boring (since I have not the time or the HDD space to copy my entire library off to my PS3).

It can only play through your HDD, but I can shuffle through my songs fine without making a playlist.... press square whilst selecting you music, try a few times...

They could also improve the fact that's it's buried under a ton of other settings in the menu..... It's kinda hard to access it.

But otherwise I enjoy and yes I still use it both in my pod and out.

All the time. I just wish I could totally get rid of the create sounds that come through under the music like the popit "popping" or the gluing sounds, etc.2009-06-18 13:21:00

I only use it if I remember to, so I rarely use it. I got a lot of extra music onto my HDD, including my favorite Kutless songs, so I can't wait to get back onto create mode, and work on my Theo Janson walker.2009-06-18 17:11:00

Yes. All the time. Unless I'm adding sounds into my level, I need to know what I'm doing when it comes to that.2009-06-18 17:22:00

I used it once to try it out, and haven't used it since. Doubt I ever will either.2009-06-18 17:24:00

I use it all the time. Before, I used to make the LBP music objects play during create mode (which got annoying after a bit of always hearing the same song) and the pod was just generally boring. Now I've transfered a whole bunch of MP3s from my PC to my PS3 for the express purpose of using them in the music player during create. 2009-06-18 17:30:00

Well I've recently had to start to use my PS3 as my media player (dead amp in my HiFi and my two TVs have the only other speakers I own) and the entire PS3 media player is just shockingly bad. It's worse than my mobile phone, which isn't even marketed as a media-based phone. Considering Sony originally wanted the PS3 to be the media centre for you whole house it's just pathetic. [/rant]. Mostly I'm annoyed I just forked out so much money for new awesome new speakers and my amp dies straight after

Then there is the fact that you can't access USB or media servers while in game... Obviously networking is too much drain on the system while playing a game, that's why online games don't exist... Oh, hang on, wait a minute....

So yeah, I don't bother with it. It's just inconvenient. If you could at least access a USB pen, I'd use the 16GB music store I use for work, but I can't be bothered to copy music onto my HDD.

I never use such features. Also never used custom soundtracks options of any game ever. I am also not interested into trying in the slightliest!

no i tried it once and didnt use it again.

i thought it would be cool to use in your pod at first so you could let someone listen to a song that was visiting your pod, but no else can hear the music but you. So i just listen to music from the computer as i have better speakers set up there than the tv seakers

yeah, i use it all the time. I only wish it would auto resume when you start the game. It's annoying to start it up again every time.2009-06-18 19:27:00

you'll need to stream the music to the player then, which would cause even MORE lag
