i have to use tons of streached out dark matter to fill in spaces that i want seen but not occupied. this will save me alot of time and give me a little more space on my thermometer. maybee it could be outlined in creat mode. | 2009-06-16 19:12:00 Author: CENTURION24 ![]() Posts: 266 |
That would be nice. I hate working with invisible dark matter since I lose it a lot but using invisible dark matter is necessary sometimes. An outline would be cool. | 2009-06-16 19:18:00 Author: brnxblze ![]() Posts: 1318 |
Actaually i already invented somehing like that ![]() I'll show you later and be a witness (even tho its invisible) how i managed to create invisible materia! | 2009-06-16 19:23:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
how do you create invisible material? people talk about it all the time, but I have no idea how it's done | 2009-06-19 10:40:00 Author: groble ![]() Posts: 223 |
I know that it's possible to do with a little glitching and playing around, but I think that this is a great idea. Better yet, I think that dark matter should just have a tweak menu with a Visible/Invisible-Check/X setup. | 2009-06-19 10:48:00 Author: BSprague ![]() Posts: 2325 |

I think all the materials in general should have a tweak menu, there could be a lot of nice options... | 2009-06-19 17:32:00 Author: Walter-Kovacs ![]() Posts: 542 |
Make Dark Matter as small as possible and make straight lines out of it. Can also be done with Rubber. do you mean draw it as small as possible, or draw it then shrink it down? | 2009-06-19 18:39:00 Author: groble ![]() Posts: 223 |
do you mean draw it as small as possible, or draw it then shrink it down? When you take dark matter, and pick... lets say a square shape, before smudging it around, use your right analog to shrink it down as small as possible (you'll soon notice that it disappears) then you just smudge that in straight lines, if you are trying to block a big section, it'll take about 15-20 lines of this, which is what this thread is talking about. | 2009-06-19 19:56:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino ![]() Posts: 5250 |
Exactly what i said i created... You can draw with it, you can make it larger or smaller keep drawing in curves, up, down and whatnot. And it WILL stay invisible, you can even make it thick or thin, or adjust it to a piece of floor so that if you don't want the player to go to a certain plane you don't have to make a straight floor. I'll publish a demo later and will probably make it copyable later after that in case you're interested. | 2009-06-19 20:08:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
I seem to remember a whole topic dedicated to how to make this...was it you who made it, SL? Or was it Dex? I cannae remember... | 2009-06-19 21:17:00 Author: dawesbr ![]() Posts: 3280 |

ACTUALLY, you can do both. ![]() | 2009-06-19 21:34:00 Author: crazymario ![]() Posts: 657 |

It's really annoying fiddling around with tiny invisible pieces without the grid. | 2009-06-19 23:06:00 Author: midnight_heist ![]() Posts: 2513 |
I knew there was a reason I joined this forum. I played a level the other day that had invisible walls and I thought "WOW! Invisible walls!" I`ve used shrunken dark matter for stuff before but, never twigged that it could be used as an invisible wall. Thanks guys! ![]() | 2009-06-20 11:20:00 Author: killbot ![]() Posts: 25 |
