What other levels have you made?

I clicked level showcase under your name and this is the first one you've advertised on this site.

Credentials are good because that way people definatly know you know what you're talking about

Also, what level would you class it at?

Complete newbie with no published levels but has done the tutorials?

Learning beginner with a few unimpressive levels?

Intermediate creator with a few 'safe' levels under his belt but still is not exceptional in any area yet?

Pro creator in at least one aspect of level building? (machines, pretty levels etc)

Veteran that has made some exceptional levels that have just gone unnoticed? (Me , nah jk)

One or two of your suggestions aren`t great.

- Don`t use basic materials
- You must have a Mm background

Base metal and base stone are both very handy, and often the Mm themed backgrounds don`t fit with the level at all.

The rest of it is worth listening to, if you`re a beginner. Even if the advice is very basic.

@Groble

I've kind of mixed the two. There's a play-able side and a learning side. Teaching by example, if you know what I mean.

@Asbestos

I've made more tutorials, and some failed attempts at levels. I'll be sure to advertise the good ones and my other tutorials later. This is just the newest one I've made... until Saturday, that is...

@ Matt

Notice that in the level, I never said that you MUST use MM backgrounds. I said you can use a combination of materials and MM backgrounds for a well balanced experience, but you're other suggestion will be taken into consideration. Thanks!

Well you did not say that at all. You showed what the background would look like in a blank level then said not to use that in the final draught. Then said that people should use 'a background like this' (a Mm one) or use materials as a background if they are indoors.

That`s not the same. No point in adding a background if it doesn`t fit the level just for no reason other than to add a background.

How about suggesting different colours of a blank background like in Nattura`s level, 'Lost Tomb of Anubis'?

I would have to say, you kind of contradict your own tips in your other levels. You mentioned not to use MediaMolecule's objects, yet you do so yourself in one of your other levels. You say not to use basic material, yet several are used in your other levels. Although your tutorial is somewhat helpful in covering the basic of the basics (such as explaining that we must go the moon to create levels [useless]) it is apparent that you aren't exactly the best creator out there. You fail to mention many other important aspects of level creation such as how to form platforming levels and the need for variety in scenery. Most importanly, the level was ugly. It was simply random materials strewn together, very unappealing. You should have warned them not to do that in your tutorial. You shouldn't be working on tutorial levels just yet. Sorry for being so harsh. I would gladly give you some of my own tips as soon as online create is updated. For now, keep observing and practicing. Good luck. Also, I agree on the fact that you should hide dark matter. Good job on that.2009-06-16 08:10:00

Yeah, I did fail on some levels, those were my earlier levels. Then I learned how to make a good one, and now I'm fixing them. I tried to make a theme with materials that had gold in them, but I guess they didn't go well for you. This tutorial was maybe just a begginers tip guide, but I do intend to make a sequel, and maybe I'll do better. I know I'm not the best, but OUCH. I do appreciate your input, though and I will improve. Thanks!

Is your level broken? I pressed the button on the first puzzle you mentioned before the boss fight, but nothing happened and I could not go anywhere. I restarted the level a couple times and the button did nothing and there was no way to move on.2009-06-16 20:32:00
