Un-Censor "Opened" and "Heppened" and stuff

Archive: 4 posts

My idea to make it so you can say common words that are censored in LBP, but shouldn't be, (like opened, computer, and entering) is that the uncensor all the words from this (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=6932) thread, keeping the root word that makes it censored (pene, puter, tering) censored. MM would check on the "Odd Censored LBP words" thread and keep adding words to the "Uncensored" list.
What do you think?

I even wonder if they can or want to change it.

Right now, the way their code work is that they simply check wich letters is following wich. I mean, their program doesn't even check words, that was odd things are censored, they only check a queue of letters (spacebar and odd characters don't count.)

Without changing their code they could permit certain letters to follow each other but it would uncensor more words. If you let "happened" being written it will mean you let "pene" being written too.

Anyhow, it's frustrationg because it's just another feature badly designed in this game. They simply should have had a database of censored "words" and simply erase those words when they are written. They went for a simpler but sh*ttier solution.

What's the point of censoring words in LBP anyways? It's an E rated game. If any level were to have swearing it should be modded...

.........right?

Yeah but to get modded it has to get griefed and to get griefed someone has to play it and see the 'naughy no-no'.

In all honesty though a whitelist is just as easy to implement as a blacklist. They've already got a blacklist so why not let us write 'happened' again.
