Funny Comments on your Levels

Archive: 160 posts

We've all seen comments: the good, the bad, the spam, the H4H requests. But I was just going through some of my levels, and some of the comments were absolute gems! A selection appears below which I hope make you smile. Hope you'll add some of your own, whether from your own levels or from someone else's.

Hyper Cube
"A great level which I really enjoyed. It would've been even better if the rooms weren't all square!"

"I finally finished it on my third attempt after asking my 8-year old son what the hell it was all about!"

"It was good, but I got lost."

Hyper Sphere
"LMAO - that first bang made me spill my tea!"

"Strictly speaking, it should be called Hyper Circle, but that doesn't sound as good."

Dragon Rider
"This is better than the Story Mode levels, but still rubbish."

"... what is it with the red gas? I jump here, red gas. I jump there, red gas. Enough already!" (Note: there is no red gas in Dragon Rider!)

"This is like a nice painting. Beautiful to look at and admire, but ultimately pointless."

"Dragons don't exist, so why have them?"

Lolz, some of those are classic!

I can't remember most of mine. The only ones that come to mind are -

"There is nothing Star Wars about this level!!" in a level that had R2D2, C3PO, Ben Kenobi, stormtroopers, jawas, Han Solo, Chewbacca and the Millenium Falcon.

On the Hoth one I got -

"I can't do the jumpy things!" (yes, it's a platform level)

"Stop covering everything in ice!!!"

and someone actually took the time to tell me

That comment is really cute. I picture some cute little girl or boy looking out for their beloved dragons.

In one of my levels called Crawlin' Through Fire, you ride on the back of a creature for most of it, and at the end of the level after you beat the challenges, the creature says, "It's smooth sailing from here. Just kick back and enjoy the ride." One poster left a comment that read, "can't beat smoth sailing." 		2009-07-13 14:43:00

Yeah, I've got pages and pages of people making hilarious comments on that level. It's got over 5000 plays, and I'm not sure what makes people keep coming back.. They've actually cracked it, so I had to increase the difficulty. It was a 4 digit 0-9 combo, so there were 10,000 combinations. Here are some gems:

"I'm not going to sit here and here try all 100 combinations!"

"Why do you hate us"

"Just give me coad - I will heart you and all your levels twice!"

"You're mean"

"I am a member of LBPC can I have code now"

"This level is hard"

"I must get this key"

Then once they cracked it, they spammed the code all over the comments section. Hilariously enough, I didn't have keys in it at the time... I also get messages daily asking for the code.

You can have a friend remove the photo by uploading 10 pics to the level or you can use an alt acoount to do it yourself. I recommend you do this because if someone decides to "good grief" the pic, your level will be deleted by the mods. 		2009-07-13 19:20:00

I had a level up a while ago, and it was very sticker-intensive. Someone had taken the time to delete every single sticker (there were over 100) and then plaster up their own, very inappropriate scene over it. I laughed, and then I upload a new picture over it saying "Nice Try".2009-07-13 20:56:00

Bumpety bump!!! So yeah, 2 and a half months, but I feel a bump is required for the following reasons:

It's always relevant
Some of the comments where hilarious
There have been plenty of new levels and new members to the site
I actually have a level now so I can participate (This is the real reason)


I had a couple of funny ones the other day, on Subterranean Setbacks:

"That jump is impossible" - would have been useful if (and only if) the level consisted of one jump...

"Even god couldn't ace this" - just made me chuckle for the truth of it!

And a while back:

"I almost envy your skills - the "almost" just made me crack up! I'm not sure why.

oh i got some classics cause 2 of my levels have a community item at the scoreboard which looks like a crown costume piece. But when they jump to try to get it, a piston pulls it out of reach followed by an evil laugh and then it comes back down. When they try to jump for it again, the same thing happens. Quite hilarious!

I get so many "How do you get the crown at the end?" Comments with some golden ones like

"You monster! Why must you torment us?!"

"1 star cause i couldn't get the crown at the end..."

"I hate you...."

" I can't stop playing this, I want that crown at the end!"

followed by lots of "Doesn't deserve a crown" comments....I saw a couple crown winning levels recently and they seem to have a lot of "Doesn't deserve a crown" comments...least i'm not alone		2009-09-30 23:31:00

Lol, this wasn't my level, but i remember a costume level for a zombie pirate and someoone wrote,

"One star and rubbish tag because you used DLC. Not everyone has the credit card to buy the pirate costume!".

In case you don't get it, you get the pirate costume by acing the gardens LOL

Oh and in KCferrari's tank concept level where you drive a tank through player sensors, some guy wrote

"In Soviet Russia, tank drives you!"

So I commented on his level, who has the same name as mine (Home Sweet Home),
and ask him what does he mean by that...thinking maybe he's having a problem that our levels are using the same expression...

2 days later he commented back on mine :

Just recently I got a few comments on Splat Invaders II (keep in mind, this level came out in February - so it was before unlimited checkpoints and all the other features of Yarg.

3 comments from the same player:

"I keep dying! I NEED UNLIMITED CHECKPOINTS"

A bit later:

"Great... I finally got to the bottom of the cavern, and died in the Donkey Kong section! Starting over..."

And a bit later:

My favorite comments came from my jumper levels. Unfortuantely i lost some when i republished due to a bad start on red zone. here are the good ones that are left.


Jumper: the Red Zone

I wrote a rambling comment, then realised it would be more effective to summarise my general sentiment.
The fact that the level is brilliant goes without saying really




my Wrecking Ball Survival received a few funny comments. Some involved bribing me in some way or another: "Ill heart all ur levels and give u 5 stars if you give me the power ball!"

I even got a PSN message along those lines. Now, it doesn't take a genius to see that the "power ball" is actually just a jetpack inside a wooden circle. :hero: I was nice though, and explained it to everyone who asked.



I also recieved this:

"add infinte lives pls".

The thought of a survival challenge with infinite lives was pretty funny I thought. Good luck registering your score there!		2009-10-13 02:55:00

Once I replyed him. I tried very hard not to offend him. I just tried to make him see that there's NO "Best level ever". The best level ever is very subjective, and I KNOW THE BUNKER IS NOT THE BEST LEVEL EVER. I made it ages ago... in a time when using history objects still wasn't a "sin" xDD
It's been surpased by many levels, but do I deserve to be hated because it is not moving from 1st page?

Of course you're right (as usual xD), there have always been haters around there, and I've (nearly) always ignored them. But LBP online is not what it used to be.
There are a lot of young kids creating levels, and after a while, when they realise people don't play their levels, they become potential haters.
Well... this is just a theory, but this is what I think.

I read the messages in my levels once in while, but when I check them, and read this kind of crap, makes me wonder who in the world would desire to spend months creating a level for this audience?
This forum is amazing. And creating to hear your opinions is the best reason I can think of, but there should have to be an option to lock your levels for some users, just like you can lock a user in the PSN message sistem.

I KNOW when I publish my new level, I'll "have" to read a lot of crap from a lot of young kids, who's only problem is people don't play their levels.		2009-11-11 20:33:00

Stick with it, poms. You're a decent person and a very good creator, but there will always be a few players who want to spoil it for everyone else.

Unfortunately, the more plays you receive the more chance you will get more negative and abusive comments. You should try your best to ignore them and report the ones you think cross the line.

I know that me and many here have had very nasty comments appear. It isn't nice at all, but you can only do what you think is right.

I had a picture uploaded to my level That had a high wall which sackboy cannot overcome by his own ability. You had to get two blocks to form stairs. The guy uploaded with stickers that said: "What now?" Clearly didn't look around for the blocks.
The next uploaded image was from a different person showed The same area with two blocks and him at the top with stcikers saying "DUH!"

From what I can see, the root of this abuse advanced creators suffer from is due to the jealousy of these people who just because people have had more time to develop their skills feel the need to bring the aformentioned advanced creators to their level. When you think about it, these members of the community could be comparable to the Halo online community.
