Aperture Science: Sackboy Chambers (Part 1 of 3) **SPOTLIGHTED**

Aperture Science: Sackboy Escape (part 2) (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=13263)

Hey everybody!

I'm excited/happy/relieved to present everyone with my second LBPC level, Aperture Science: Sackboy Chambers (Part One). As the name suggests, this will be the first part of a two part series. My thermo is overheating, so I decided to split the adventure into two parts (the second part is not even started yet, but the ideas are developing in my noodle).

For anyone familiar with the game Portal, the concept of this level will be very familiar. I did not set out to create another Portal-clone level with a gimicky portal mechanic, but I did my best to create what would be the best mix of an LBP/Portal universe. It turned out being a parody on the idea of a portal-gun, in that before the portal-gun, the most advanced piece of equipment Aperture Science had was the "Hand-Held Paintinator Device".

The level begins as you are awoken in an unknown vault, greeted by a mysterious female computer voice (yes, I know it is spelled computr in the description, computer is censored). You begin by completing a series of simple obstacles that get increasingly more difficult, but as you progress, you get the feeling that something is amiss. Be wary!

The emphasis of this level is obviously on getting to the end, but I wanted to reward the player for doing more. The only way to score prize bubbles is to search out and find the various 'rat-holes' hidden throughout the level, some of which are harder to find than others. Also hidden is an achievement room that will tell you how many of the areas you found. Edit: as julesyjules notes below, if you are going to play, you should definitely try and search out these hidden rooms. Even if you aren't bubble hunting, finding the rooms adds a lot of depth to the level, and I feel like they look 'pretty.' My most detailed work went into these rooms, and there is more to the story if you find them. It let's you know that there is more to the story than just the testing, and it gives you a preview of the type of atmosphere to expect in Part 2. Happy hunting.!

Good luck and have fun!

And a special thank you to all of my beta testers, your feedback helped greatly, and I appreciate your thoroughness:

You are going to have to excuse the picture quality. Also, for some reason, the in game photo-capture didn't pick up the electrified material. So, whenever you see dark brown on the floor/walls, it is electrified.

Loved it.
+Color scheme excellent. Really draws attention to the important stuff.
+Puzzles! Wow puzzles. Loved the two-underhung-switches puzzle. Had to actually think at it These are definitely faithful to Portal, well done.

Needs more 'faithful companion cube' instead of just 'companion cube.'

The text box that's activated by the brown lever you have pictured is censored.

In the very first room, I went left and got stuck under the black part of the platform. Had to pop myself. When you land after a jump, you're just a bit shorter than normal, so you can fit in slightly smaller passageways.

5-starred, hearted, eagerly awaiting part 2.

Thanks for the heads up(s).

Yeah, I noticed the censoring. Apparently, it doesn't like "passageway." I went to edit it, but the editor froze up (does this sometimes when I enter text into speech bubbles). I will fix this later.

Are you wanting me to add the word "faithful" to the text bubbles, or are you just wanting more companion cube puzzles? I had a couple more designed out, but my thermo was getting angry, so I had to cut them. Perhaps in part 2, I will include a singed/burned companion cube that helps you through some b.t.s. (behind the scenes) rooms (I know it's not faithful to Portal, but that's not why I made the level).

I will look into the place you got stuck - I didn't know you get smaller when you land a jump

Finally, I'm glad you appreciate the puzzles. I don't think we see enough true puzzle elements in a lot of LBP levels. Usually, it's just pull a lever and doors open, so I thought I was onto something.

Edit: all of these things are fixed.

The word 'faithful.'

"You've euthanized your faithful Companion Cube faster than any subject on record" made me laugh so hard the first time I heard it.

Hi comphermc!

Great job! I really enjoyed the level. You've made a number of good improvements since the alpha.

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=477&pictureid=4482
The movement of the electrified floor here is great!

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=477&pictureid=4483
The speech bubble in this rat hole when you pull the lever on the left in censored.

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=477&pictureid=4484
Awesome puzzle. Really well done. I like how everything moves so fluidly.

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=477&pictureid=4485
Ahhh!

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=477&pictureid=4498
I didn't find everything!!! I'll just need to try again!
(EDIT: Picture updated with new record)

I didn't take a picture but I also really liked the 'impossible' puzzle. I got myself trapped. The 'help' was much appreciated and a really cool sequence I hate needing to suicide in a level so it was a really good touch.

I gave the level 5 stars, great and a heart.

Thanks dcf for everything. The censored speech bubble should be fixed now, but I'll check again later.

About the achievement room, the super-secret hidden one is...

related to the camera shy achievement in Portal. At this point it's just one, not all of them, so you have to find the right one...

i was pretty impressed tbh, particualrly with the ideas really. some of the puzzles were very well made, and everything looked nicely polished. It might seem really stupid to say, but i thought the companion cube was really well made. My only really complaint is that i thought the pace was too slow. There are some puzzles which take so long to navigate it' becomes pretty tedious, on the whole i gave it a 5/5 and rated it "ingenius" 2009-06-13 16:32:00

I just played it again on my own. I managed to get all the secret areas but not the secret objective. Gave it 5 stars again and an ingenius tag.

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=477&pictureid=4498

I then went back to upload pictures and ended up in a 4 player game. I know you say it's only for 1 player but I tried anyway. The people weren't very good and we got stuck at this spot. Basically the fail safe that lowers the mechanism back down if you die kept activating. The players couldn't cross an obstacle as a team. (I don't mean this obstacle, I mean any obstacle.)

In summary, aside from that little misadventure (which ended with me booting them from my game):

Ha ha, nice captures dcf. I'm sorry that you couldn't get it to work with 4 people. Glad you enjoyed it, and I have already starting working on GLaDos - I'm trying to make her look as accurate as possible.

As for the the secret objective, if my hint was not sufficient before:

Try shooting all of the cameras. One of them can be destroyed. I may try and make it so all of them can be destroyed at some point, but my thermo limped through the finish line as it is.

Really? It says:

"The weighted storage door has now been opened"

I have used all of those words in other bubbles with the exception of "now." I don't get it.

I will fix this right now...hopefully.

Are you checking on your moon or in the published version? The censoring only happens in the published versions.

Check out this thread if you haven't already: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=6932

They are compiling all of the stupid censors and should be able to help you.

hey comphermc great level. it felt like every aspect, from the visuals to the gameplay, was extremely polished. the use of the portal theme was also very well used and made me laugh out loud more than once. the only section that i found a bit rough round the edges was when you had to load the companion cube onto the platform and move it through the lasers. this was because i felt the platform was too small and the cube too light. other than this small blemish it was an amazing level. i gave 5 stars, hearted and tagged ingenious.
if you want to give some feedback in return it would be appriciated

Really enjoyed this, I've played a few Portal levels on LBP but i don't think I've played one utilizing the paintgun. A good puzzler and didn't end too quickly either. Nice!2009-06-14 19:29:00

This was the best portal level I have played on LBP. Looked great, fun challenges, and I almost found all the secrets of the level. I only missed the secret objective. I don't want to check the spoiler...I will just have to play through it again! No problem with that.2009-06-14 23:03:00

Comphermc, was just playing through again, looking to get the secrets, and I've returned the favour by taking a tour of YOUR level. ; )

You can jump on top of the very first cube, up and out on top... just a heads up....!

edit - I didn't find all the hidden rooms but if I were you I'd make more of them in your level description, the rooms themselves are really nicely hidden (and look great) and it gives the level even more depth. First time through i just went through not really looking for them, thinking they were a little bonus for those who like to hunt bubbles, but finding the entrances turned out to be as enjoyable as the main puzzles....

Now that the magic mouth is fixed I've found a minor bug. I hadn't realized previously that the latch let you drag the cubes out of that area to the right. I presume that you are meant to take one up the lifts so you can access the observation room above.

You can actually jump from the lift with good timing and reach the observation room anyway Can you make the observation room a tad higher or make the lift go up a tad less?

Oh, I got all the secrets this time I've also hearted you as an author.

I was hoping no one would find it, but alas someone has. I will fix this when I'm on next. Thank you!

I will look into this - probably make the lift not go as high. Good work on all the achievements and thanks for the heart!

Edit: The lift has been lowered, but rather than fixing the one julesyjules found, I turned it into an Easter Egg. Have fun with it!

Edit2: Thanks for the idea julesyjules, I will see if I can fit some more text online and edit the description above.

Just got done playing this... GREAT job. Beautifully done, all the puzzles were perfect. 5 stars and hearted.

Interestingly, there was a part where I sat for a moment and didn't immediately figure out what to do (the part where the cube is shuttled while you need to pull a switch to lower/raise the columns), but my 7-year-old figured it out for me.... so no problems!

I don't know if you ever got a chance to check out H.A.T.E. 2 from Voltiare, but it's a great similar level with a completely different spin.

Nice job!

Ah, the triple-door puzzle... Its simplicity will getcha! Thanks for the feedback. I have played H.A.T.E. 2 before, and I love that level. I had played H.A.T.E. 1 when it first came out, but then I saw the second one about a week ago. The dialogue is great!

Thanks everyone here for the support and feedback on this level. The number of plays have absolutely exploded over the past 24 hours! It's only my second level, and you all are on your way to getting me addicted to making these.

Cheers.

I've played this, and frankly, it's awesome!

I like the concept of it better than the rest of the attempted portal levels. They just killed you when you try to make a portal, but this doesn't even use portals! I like it a lot better just because of that. I admire the detail in your levels, although the guy hanging himself was pretty violent in my opinion. Everything stays true to the Portal storyline itself, and I smiled when I saw some of the funniest lines being thrown in.

Five-starred. Hearted. Brilliant.

Well, I have nothing else to say. Every single LBP-er here should go and play this level. Serious.

I'm sorry about that. I wasn't sure what to put there. I had "the cake is a lie,"
but it didn't make sense to say it so early, so I moved it to later in the level. In the end I decided on "I can't take the testing anymore," but it needed something more. I'm sorry if you were offended, but I thought it was fairly mild... hmm.

Great job on this level man! Totally enjoyed it all, clever puzzles, well built and visually appealing. Reminded me of Mrs. Spookybuz's Hyper cube series (Thats a compliment!).

I thought the pacing of the game was great, with puzzles that required a little thought but not so much that it would frustrate you and ruin the pace of the game. I think you got the balance spot on.

Nice job!

this level was amazing. everything worked smoothly, looked great, and was very true to source material. The only (minor) gripe that i have is that instead of saving yourself from the fire, it just disappears.

I don't see anyone else asking for feedback....
But if you would be so kind as to try my Lost Ages level, I could really use some constructive criticism.

+ All smooth and well made
+ good atmosphere
+ The rat holes were a nice touch
+ Good use of music
+ Good humor spark

- Very similar to your Ninja level and feels like that but maybe jazzed up a tad and in a new location
- Eventually got repetitive
- Offers nothing new ( a personal preference)

Whilst i can see the appeal for a level like this, i don't entirely enjoy them as i prefer things far away from the norm. To give you an idea, Sacks in the City is still the best level that i played in the LBPC community because it's innovative, different and has much more depth than most. But, i did enjoy your level design and details, infact, it was those that pushed me on.

My opinions are personal preferences though so, pinch of salt required.

About the fire - I didn't have any more thermo left and had to end it. The beginning of part two will be right before the fire, and you will in fact have to escape. I will be sure to take a look at your level when I get a chance later.

Lotus Flow3r, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I respect your candor. About this level being similar to my other one: I wanted to do something like this level for a while now, but I've never been confident enough in my creating abilities. Sack Ninja Training was my first attempt to learn how to make a complete level with a consistent theme. I published it and it got mixed responses, only gathering about 40 plays. I decided to go for broke and do the portal-themed one I'd been wanting to do. Two weeks later, I finally finished it, and this is what we got. I was using the techniques I learned while making the first one, hence why it is very similar. About offering nothing new: I thought the idea of shooting the pull-switches with the paintinator was something new - I'd never seen it before when I made it in Sack Ninja Training... I guess I shouldn't have expected glowing reviews because I initially berated your Brass House level. No hard feelings, and I hope you like my future levels...

And finally,

Thanks brnxblze! I'm going to give your updated junk-yard challenge a go after lunch (I've been putting off eating because I was in the zone with creating part 2, and I'm hungry)

The review would of been the same without your Brass review, you helped me if anything. Other people have done similar to my older levels and ive been completely complementary of there's. Matts Eddie Mitter springs to mind.

Yes shooting a switch is new but, i was referring to new, as in concept or maybe gameplay.

You see, Star Wars Ep. V (cant remember the author) has done the same concept, a training type concept, infact, maybe you should check that one out! Im not fond of levels where the theme is of something already famous i.e Metal Gear but, the design in the Star Wars level was great!

I can tell you, you made a much better start to level publishing than a lot! My 1st was buggy as hell!

Im just very fond of originality and more abstract works. Im like this with everything including games, For instance, Flower is 09's best game imo!

anyway, i will play all your future levels and review accordingly.

...and who said my review wasn't glowing? I don't throw around high scores, 3 stars is a lot for me lol

Keep up the good work, you definitely have the skills and drive.

Good Grief!!! This level was amazing. This was one of the best levels I've played in a long time. Your hard work is evident in all the cleanness and detail put into the puzzling platforming nature of the level. It perfectly captures the essence of Portal in every way with no need at all for a portal gun. The hidden secrets kept me interested. Especially that part where Glados must kill you if you are locked in the timed switch chamber. This level MUST and WILL get spotlighted. I can't wait for Part 2.

Instant 5 Stars and Heart.

Great Portal tribute level! I had a blast with this and loved all the little details from Portal that you managed to put in. The hidden rooms are well done and I enjoyed finding them.

The visual style is clean and simple and recreates the Portal style perfectly. The gameplay was nicely balanced between platforming and paintinator sections as well as the sections where they were combined. The conveyor part at the end was great!

Great level!

Thanks for the feedback both of you!! There has been a spotlight since I released my level, so I won't get my hopes up, but it has been performing well online (it's on cool pages 2, and it's growing!). I'm glad you mentioned the conveyor part, mrsupercomputer. I would like anyone-who-is-reading-this's opinion. I've been thinking of what to make after part two, and I can't decide between a more challenging conveyor section, packaged as a survival challenge, or a spin-off of just companion cube puzzles...?

Thanks again to both of you.

Love this level.

Pros
-Liked the style
-dialogue was good
-The double levers puzzle was brilliant.
-All the secrets

Cons
-Me and steve big guns got out of your level. We found the hidden room with the pile of rubble in it, and we squeezed through the top.Should be an easy fix.

I would like anyone-who-is-reading-this's opinion. I've been thinking of what to make after part two, and I can't decide between a more challenging conveyor section, packaged as a survival challenge, or a spin-off of just companion cube puzzles...?

I'd say the first one, I can't get enough of those conveyor belt challenges (which is why I made one lol)!

What a awesome level.

It has humor, portal atmosphere, lots of secrets & smart gameplay. I didn't find 4 secret rooms ! I only got one achievement, could you tell me what for(it's the yellow one at the bottom of the sign)? Well lets give you the full feedback

Pros:
- the polished looks
- the dialogue. Great Humor!
- neat level design. It's not likes GUKs backtracking but everything fits so well and the secrets are especially well done
- the puzzle gameplay. It was brilliant cause it wasn't to easy or to hard. Just perfect!
- the cubes look awesome
- like the little computers
- secrets in secrets
- use of paintinator. If you want to get a little more ideas for part 2 play H.A.T.E 2 by Voltaire. It might get you inspired.
- the ending. Got me hyped for pt. 2

Suggestions:
- could you please do something with the cameras? The level is beautiful but the cameras look horrible (IMO). Please make new ones. It's a shame that such a perfect level has such poor cameras...

Can't wait for pt.2!!!
6 stars, 2 hearts & brilliant.

F4F please ... if you want.

Amazing level.

The best thing about it, the puzzles were fun!
That's a hard thing to do.

Great that you did something different with the paintinator, works well with the cube, and great on those switches. It's also fun destroying the pure white walls. The selective colours are nice as it shows you a clear goals and mechanics.

I had no problems what so ever in this level. Nice difficulty.
No layer annoyances, puzzle mishaps, etc.

You really nailed the portal humor, I haven't laughed out loud while playing a LBP level in a long time.
I would like the companion cube as a prize though.

Great story + gameplay + aesthetics = trifecta
One of the most enjoyable puzzle/platformer hybrids I have played.

Loved it, you totally captured the feeling of portal, the puzzles while not that difficult were really clever and was a good variation from what you normally see, my only gripe (huge portal fan) is i think you should add a thin layer of a small bit of blue VR grid underneath the unstable scafolding, just big enough to look like a glowing line, the platform is already 2 layers thick so you could just put it in the middle,( the ones that arent 2 layers i wouldnt worry about as much)

other than that everything is completely amazing

I really enjoyed playing this map. It was fairly similar to Portal, which is a good thing. I found the secret first go but not all the rat holes D:
Ah well, ill try again soon.

I would like the companion cube as a prize though.

You can get the companion cube from tactical_gunner's portal map. A quick search in LBP should lead you to him, but if not, he/she is hearted in my moon/earth thing. I didn't want to give away what was not rightfully mine.

Also, I want to thank everyone else for the awesome support on this level. It was my second real level, and I was lucky enough to have it sitting on page one of cool pages, as well as have the number one spot on 'busiest,' for a large portion of the week (amassing over 21,000 plays!). Alas, my 7 days are up, so I have no excuses for not cranking out part 2 this week/weekend anymore. Anyone interested in testing for the final boss of the series, pop on over to my thread for that in 'Find other Happy Gadders' here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=12883).

Shameless plugs, I know, but the top portion was a relevant post.

Edit: whoops, the companion cube was just tactical_gunner's normal cube with a pink heart sticker from MM's story mode levels. Again, the whole thing was not mine, so I'd feel bad giving it away.

I really liked this level. I played it near the end of a marathon of playing LBP so mentally I think I was in the right frame of mind to find the deadpan humor even more funny. Nicely designed obstacles and cool effects. Really challenged me in a few spots too.

lol why did my faithful companion cube have to die

Great level though, honestly you had the best puzzles I've ever seen

My favorite one was the one with the paintinator and the levers but the "impossible test" at the end, I actually thought it was pretty easy hehe

Played this one earlier and found it very fun. Lots of hidden areas and a good challenge as well.

Pros:
+ Clean design
+ The hidden areas
+ The hidden area telling you how many hidden areas you have found!
+ The companion Cube....somehow I just didn't want it to burn (and I found a way to keep it)!
+ Nice ideas

Cons:
- Seemed very similar in style and art to Voltaire's HATE

Overall though - 5 stars and a heart

When I first saw this on the site here, I thought 'Oh great another Portal level' and didn`t really bother with it. Then Morgana mentioned that it was really good so i gave it a go. Definitely the best Portal level that I`ve played.

Puzzles are well judged, and just challenging enough without being irritating and the 'other stuff' was wll implemented as well. Good stuff.

+ Epic puzzles
+ Hidden areas are awesome
+ gladis still sounds awesome!
+ clean layout

- another level based on portal
- it is from portal, wich means you didn't create the concept yourself

Don't take those last two points too serious, because this level rocks!!!!

You sir, are made of win.

I really liked this level, the style was great and the ratholes (And the achievement) kept me playing it until I saw all the lights lit up on the panel. Though I was a bit disappointed when I didn't get any additional award for getting all of the secrets, or I didn't notice any awards atleast.

The puzzles weren't hard and not too easy. The skill required in those puzzles were in the spot where you could enjoy them, and I really really liked that.

Also, one of the main pros are the jokes and references you put in on the level. I smiled at beginning where the speach suddenly was cut out and came back.

The only exploit I spotted on this level is one of the chambers where you have to activate the platform wich moves from side to side to get the Paintonator device, you can make to the other platfrom by jumping one of the stairs to get to the switch, it's hard but you can make the jump.

Overral this level is great, everyone should definetly play it. Five Stars, Hearted and tagger "Brilliant" from me.

P.S I didn't want to do a +/- section, they are stupid imo =D

EDIT: Oh, and I cant wait for the next part. Exciting to see what will you come up with.

This level was brilliantly made. I loved the theming, and the puzzles did a good job of paying homage to the portal gun without attempting to spam the teleport gimmick in order to duplicate the effect. Key moments usually involved you anticipating my attempts to break the game: getting stuck in the switch box until GLaDOS shoots me with gas; and trying to jump out of the observation room that scolds me for cheating were especially choice.

I also loved the achievement tracker, about which I have only one question: is "never dying" some function of that infuriating yellow light? If it is, I'm never gonna win it, and it would save me a lot of time to know that now. It did tickle my OCD centers to see all the blue and red lights on.

Issues:

*I actually quit playing this the first time through, in the room where I had to throw the weighted cube out into the electrified floor. After trying to throw the cube into the floor, then jump on it to "roll" it into position, I finally used trial and error to hurl one out farther by running behind it. Other people don't seem to hate this bit as much as I do, so I'd hesitate to suggest changing it. But it's the main reason that, if acing the level wins you something, I just don't care enough.

*I actually jumped into the incinerator. I can see your level guts from in there and not die.

*The camera in the first paint gun room has an unpainted bolt.

Overall: while the cube puzzle I mentioned infuriated me, the overall level is excellent, and encouraged me to replay it a couple times, in spite of my aggravation.

Hi comphermc. I finally got a chance to play AS:SC (Part one).

A little feedback...

Pros:
1. Excellent stage design--very clean, detailed and cohesive
2. Great mix of platforming challenges--I really enjoyed the paintinator-activated switches for varying the platform levels
3. Nice touch of humor in your speech popups
4. A true test of skill (not luck)--even though some of the challenges were difficult, due to the imposed time limitations, they were in fact an excellent test of skill and reaction time.
5. Overall a Great Impression--when I finished, I had a feeling of accomplishment, and I thoroughly enjoyed this test of skill which you delivered in a Masterful way.

Cons:
1. None that I can think of--it was apparent you worked out all the kinks during Beta testing, which I wish more creators would do.

Bravo! Well Done!
So, rated AS:SC 5-Stars and Hearted it and you. Wish I could have done more...like send money via PM...but sadly, that's not possible...yet.

If you do get around to playing Takken, please keep in mind it is my first and only level, and nowhere near this caliber in the challenge department...but I am trying. I believe playing your level has unleashed a bit more creativity in me, which I hope will make Part 2 a more well-rounded level.

I actually played this last week and forgot entirely about giving you feedback. I really enjoyed it, and I think you captured the essence of the game better than any other attempts at a portal-esque level out there. The puzzle design was great, I like the use of gun-activated ceiling mounted two way switches, which hardly anybody ever does... what I liked most was the way things fold and move synchronously as you fiddle with switches and solutions. Nothing was a real challenge, but everything took some thought or skill and never frustrated... great balance.

As Ccubbage mentioned, I'm still partial to two of my favorites levels (HATE 1 & 2), but this isn't trying to do what those are so I don't really compare them... that shows how much time was taken to make this something unique, quality and fun. You got a ton of plays on it last time I saw, and I'm sure the follow up will do just as well as a great level.

Voltaire is back?!?I pop in from time to time, but I haven't played the game in months. I just got bored of it as any person does after spending hours upon hours on it.

As for the level, it's really good.

Pros
- The puzzles were accessible. They weren't too hard for people to get frustrated about, but they were not brain dead easy.
- The visual style is very much like portal with the exception of the colored switches and platforms and such. I'm sure this was for the same reason I put colored switches: A) It looks good and B) It helps guide the player through the level...or at least I think it does.
- The writing is great albeit not all your own. It's fine as Portal has amazing writing already and hearing the classic lines again made me laugh.
- I really liked your cubes, the "danger" stickers, the secret areas, and the dramatic ending. I kept thinking I was supposed to save myself like in the game so I was freaking out.
- Getting trapped and having Glad0s kill me. Funny stuff.

Cons
- Wood material as the lab. It just seemed strange to see the grain through the stickers. I would have rather used stone or something to prevent that effect. I like the clean, perfect look of sheer white as it's very stark and eye-catching.
- The music. It's not a bad choice as there isn't a whole lot to work with, but I think I would've preferred the music I used in H.A.T.E. instead. Maybe just turned down the volume since you are not on a timer or anything.
- This is kind've hard to explain, but some parts of the level just didn't seem polished enough. Like there were odd shapes and jagged lines in a place that is supposed to be about clean, simple, empty test chambers. It just seemed like some of the architecture was off on some parts.

I think this is just a personal issue, but I kind've wish the puzzles were harder. I think it's just because I am a puzzle fiend though.

Did my level bring the great Voltiare out of retirement!? Kidding aside, thanks for the little review Voltiare. Finally, somebody else feels that it wasn't polished enough, ha ha. I felt that it wasn't polished enough but everyone else felt it looked great - I had trouble with this aspect, as I'm still an LBP newcomer. I also cannot take credit for the cube and some of the stickers - as the description of my level says, they are from tactical_gunner's portal map. I could've copied them, but they look great, so I gave him credit. About the difficulty, my testers have been telling me that part 2 is quite a bit harder than part 1. I don't see it, but that's probably because I've designed every bit of it. I'm glad you liked it, and you should know that your hate levels are my favorite of any LBP portal inspired levels (including my own). Thanks again.

Edit: Oh, and you will have to save yourself when part 2 rolls around...

(F4F from Puzzle Balls)
Me and my brother played this level last night (does work with two players but I see why you'd want one), and I'm playing it again to write the feadback, first I must say its a great level. The level held up well to our mild attempts at breaking it and I liked the 'no cheating' feature when we jumped down from one of the observation rooms.
The looks for the level are simplistic yet nice which is just like Portal. Which takes me onto my next point that it is brilliant in the way it is a nod to the game without being (or trying as best LBP can) too much like the game.
The incorporation of I guess what I guess should be described as hidden collectibles was a nice touch. I'm now going through the level really slowly to find them all!
The puzzles are very clever and different (a lot of puzzles on LBP can become repetitive).
I'm not sure if putting infinite live checkpoints takes away from the challenge to much but I suppose it becomes more of a fun level that way.
I did notice a couple of graphical problems like in the rat hole after the three blue lift puzzle you can see the edge of the white material, nothing major but just thought I'd mention it.
5 stars and hearted
Now to find that hidden achievement...

Just replayed this one before I played the second and I found 2 little things you should fix. 1 the bolt on the second camera is visible and 2 on the blue things you have to shoot, the black part isn't stickered fully on some. Sadistic evil, mean, cruel, painful, but really funny. I loved it! ..even though I was cursing some of the time.

Loved the puzzles and I think once I revisit to score some points next time around, I am betting my sack skills will finally be past blind mole status.

Great job! 5 stars and a heart... however it was beating a bit fast and may need proper medical attention.

I just had a go on this. I was actually planning to play it even before joining this forum. I've yet to play Portal, but this level is excellent.

I love it, such a dark sense of humour!
I couldn't believe it when I did the 'impossible' trap in the middle of the level and what happened after. Total shock! I'm really impressed, not to mention how well all the little puzzles work. Although getting the heart cube past the first laser was slightly vexing, as it kept falling off, but who's perfect?

Obviously :star::star::star::star::star: treatment and hearted. I shall play the others soon! Thanks for sharing, genius!

One fantastic level you have there comphermc. Genius!

Rhy helped me with the tricky jumps like the tiny little ledges over the electric and I may have uttered "why, why would he do that" a few times when throwing the controller back at him but I thought this level was totally brilliant. Loved the humour and one of my favourite parts was actually being incinerated.

I would like to be as clever as you!

Can you say amazing!
At first I thought it wasn't going to be be a great level, but as I played I got really into it. The whole simplistic look that you have was awesome, still managing to add great details like the moving cameras and the desk & office in the background. Simply superb.
As I kept playing, I found myself laughing at the smart dialogue that you wrote. It started with the "1500 megawatt super-colliding super button" to the cake. It was hilarious to me. Also the guy that committed suicide was a great touch.
Even though this level got harder and harder, somehow you made it fun at the same time. Props to you!

The only thing that I saw was an exposed bolt in the room that you first use the Paintator. But other than that, flawless.

Hey man! Great levels, all three! I found a couple secret rooms, but I will play them again to find them all. Now that I have an idea of what to look for! One issue arose while playing this first part tho. After finishing the puzzle that is impossible where you get trapped and such, once I was released, the steps on the right side did not rise up. I had to restart the whole thing and then it worked. Don't know what went wrong...

On the whole tho, I love the humor of the computer while you're going through the levels, and the puzzles are fun! Truly the toughest was the flipping switches in the second part, maybe I should put this on that thread, anyway, great job.
5 stars and hearts on all 3!

Yeah, this series is the best I've ever seen, not counting amazingflyingpoo's LBL series, as it isn't finished.

Pros
+Loved the look and feel of the level. It made me think that I was playing the actual game!
+Great puzzles. Not too hard, but not very easy either.
+Loved the achievements. Took me a few weeks to find everything.

Cons
-Could of been a bit more 'original,' if you know what I mean.

Overall, very good level! :star::star::star::star::star: and a heart.

Also, considering that this is an F4F level, could you take a look at my newest level, Bank Robbery Gone Haywire(REVAMPED)? It'd be great for one of my levels to be played by an expert creator/player.

I played this a looong time ago, but yet I still keep going back and replaying. I can't fault it, all the mechanisms and obstacles seem to work perfectly, and apart from being a bit difficult at times, it's good to know that there's a secret behind completing each part along your journey, and they are not impossible. This has actually made me want to see the film - Portal (Is that right?)

Somehow, seeing how this level was posted up here a long time ago, I doubt you are doing F4F still, but if you are, it'd be cool if you could take a look at my level The Mine (Recently Spotlighted XD!), and leave some feedback.

Again great work, I hope that you'll make many more levels one day!
