Little Big Silent Hill

I know almost everyone here has played and written monkeybutlers tribute off as the best silent hill level on LBP... but thats because they haven't played mine. This level is by far my favourite creation and I think its an absolute travesty that it only has a measly 800 or so plays.

This level is the ultimate silent hill experience. I have captured the atmosphere beautifully. Now I don't mean to blow my own horn but 'toot toot'. Seriously give this level a try and see how a true Silent Hill tribute should look...

I still think that MetalJoshs level is the best SH level out there but I'll have to try yours first 2009-06-12 19:24:00

I remember this level. Definitely the best sole silent hill level I have played so far. I loved the transition into the other world. The outside world was also nicely detailed, the style and design were superb. The monster were very unnerving. The one this that questioned my was the boos at the end didn't attack? Add a little more challenge? The puzzles were sweet and simple. Required thinking but not too much that a person's brain explodes. The atmosphere was AMAZING! I just love this level. Wish you success with it!
4 stars/creepy/hearted!

Oh and since you're doing F4F, can you give feedback on my Siren level series? They're located in the links in my signature. I hope you enjoy! Thanks!

My opinion my not be worth much considering I haven't really played many LBP levels, but I'll give it to you anyway

Artwork, detail, structures, characters, all top notch. I'm still stumped on how you got that water thing to be sucked up and how you got the lamps to flicker on and off  Gameplay however, I personally have had bad luck with your level. Feel free to ignore what I'm about to say, but I felt I need to share.

On one of the Score Bubbles in the beginning (it's in the bookshelf), I went to get it and got stuck. Was this intentional? It really sucked to have to restart over one measly Score Bubble. Maybe check this out and see if this is just my incompetence.

I couldn't continue with the level because I got stuck on the Baby head Boss. I got curious and shot the head first, and that caused the two arms to fly off and stay in angles where I couldn't shoot them. I couldn't continue because I didn't really kill all parts of the Boss. In order to continue I would have to restart the whole level and given the size of your level, I didn't want to put that amount of effort in.

You don't have to change the Boss, but I'm just pointing out that there is a possibility for people to get stuck like this.

I'm not sure how you got stuck in the bookshelf, may have just been you. It is possible to defeat the baby head boss without killing all the parts. You use the right blown off arm as a step to escape out the hole in the wall.2009-06-13 13:43:00

I really loved the setting of this level and here is my feedback:

Pros:
- nice looks & design
- OMG pyramid HEAD!
- love how things fall apart
- nice other side
- the use of fog
- the creatures
- I uploaded a picture of me hanging from the head of the monster before the "boss"
- most important: the atmosphere, not "I sheeped my pants" but a nice creepy feeling

Suggestions:
-There's no fog when you go all the way left at the beginning. Just add some so that the player doesn't fall to the bottom of the lv.
- this one is more of a question then a suggestion. Why is there a boss that isn't attacking? There's no point in that...

5 stars, heart & brilliant (forgot that there is creepy ).

EDIT:Can I get some feedback to? Please...

Hmmm, that's what I was trying to do with the Boss. I couldn't get through

I'll play it again and see what the heck I was doing wrong.

Had played alot of silent hill levels on LBP, and I have to say, yours is one of the best. I loved the detail, the transition, and such.
Great job!

I loved this level! The atmosphere was just perfect. It starts slightly creepy, and then just builds perfectly... are you a game designer in real life? It seems like it from this.

In some points it was just plain scary.. maybe you should have a warning in your description that young kids should not play this level...? I'm sure they would have nightmares.

Things that really stood out as awesome... the water pump effect worked really well and I haven't seen water done like that before, so great work there.

The changing between worlds effect is great.

All the horrific images, and silhouettes in the background were done really really well.

The sound effects, and music (or lack of it) were what made this level what it is I think. All done superbly.

So apart from it being one of the best levels I have played on lbp, I guess you want some constructive feedback....

Well, in the boss fight its quite difficult moving between planes while on the base of the tree thing. That got a bit frustrating.

Also I noticed that you have a visible sound object where the upside-down people in cages are.

That's all. gave it 5* and hearted.

pls F4F my latest level. Link below. Cheers!

I have played this level, even before I came to LBP. Forgot to heart it because I liked it so much, but I love it. It perfectly makes the atmosphere look and feel like Silent Hill.2009-06-17 21:48:00

I adore Silent Hill. Well, 1, 2 & 3 anyway. I stumbled across MonkeyButler`s SH level and I was that impressed I PM`d him to tell him I was impressed.

This is teh internetz where everyone hates everyone else and where you always get some clever so and so that posts on forums pointing out your spelling mistakes and bad grammar like and English language cop, and here`s me using said internetz to show MB that I enjoyed his level, AMAZING!

I`m going to play your level now Munky-Man, don`t let me down!

I thought your SH level was superb, Munky-Man, I really enjoyed it.

The Good:

I thought the transitions to the otherworld were pretty cool and the use of the sepia (sp?) filter on the otherworld sections was really clever and added to the atmosphere. I think they used it in SH: Homecoming, too. Always good to see Pyramid Head aswell and the bit where he was sticking the Great Knife through the lift door was really good.

The Bad:

There was a section where it was really dark and I got a little lost, wasn`t a problem for long, though.

As mentioned already, traversing the planes on the tree boss was a little annoying.

The music on the final boss. It`s ok when it`s all angry, but it took me a little while to suss out that I shouldn`t be shooting the flaming dudes in the cages so, by the time I`d worked it out, the music had gone all jolly like you`d expect to hear in a chase scene in some horrible American comedy film starring Macaulay Culkin.

Regardless, your level was brilliant and I can only dream to be as talented as you. You deserve your heart, Sir!

I liked the falling rubble at the start + the bridge.
Great interactive houses!
Warn people about sticker switches / make this dissolvable / dont give out other prizes (ex. car).
I wasn't sure where I was going in the dark, but I seemed to get there in the end.
Maybe change the height of the 2 layers at the end boss, I kept jumping into the back layer.

Very polished, loved all the little things like the radiators and such. Great level
