Hello dear LBPC users. I openly admit that i am new to the forum community of LBP though i am not a LBP newbie. Yesterday i have put finishng touches on my pride and joy and published it.

My level saga is called :: Battle Sack Gallactica :: and will be comprised of a few levels. Currently Mission 1 and Briefing are available. The saga is an adventure in space and onboard the mothership, featuring some ship-deck browsing, a vertical shooter segment, finding Trophies, additionall attraction (like a race) in replay. The most fun part is the shooter segment which I am proud of. It features multiple enemies, health tactics, a boss fight at the and and furthermost, that it was made in the tratitional way, with no inviseble pistons, though they are hidden =D

In a response to some help usually needed for such levels I have also made a Briefing level with a display room that features lecture films with precise information to help the player in the available mission and missions to come.
Just as the main level it has trophies, ship-deck, secrets that are inavailable in the main level browsing but has no shooter segment.

You may also stumble uppon 1 of 10 promotional levels where you can sightsee some other ship-deck fragments, guiding keys to the main levels and the crew characters will tell you a lot more about the main levels themselves. They were ofcourse made solely for advertisment purpouses and will be deleted soon.

Please play my levels and have fun in doing so. Rate as you enjyed them and any feedback is apreciated (here or the comments).
I will try to perfect my already published levels (I do see a lot of place for improvement, but there never is a finish to those) and will publish new missions which are now under developement.

Some pix for you to enjoy.

Hi Sydious. I just played this level, in the wee hours of the morning, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Your stage was excellently crafted, with extreme attention to detail--I like that in the levels I play. Your camera work going up the lift was fine-tuned to precision, and I know the kind of effort that takes. The fighter launch was cool as well, and I found myself wishing the camera angle had shown more of the lower portion of the launch craft. I also enjoyed fending off and chasing the evading enemies.

Very Well Done!

I rated this level 4-Stars and hearted it. I will be checking out some of your other levels also. You have a great talent for creating, and I believe you are destined for notariety in this community.

1. As for some areas that you could possibly enhance, maybe you could consider varying the attack patterns of the enemy fighters a bit.
2. When I first started firing on the enemy, I was unclear if I was doing any damage to their fighters, until I actually destroyed one. I could hear the paintinator sensor when I hit them, but a visual indicator would have assured me I was hitting them where it counted.

I am also looking forward to hearing your F4F comments on my first Sci-Fi level as well. It's called Takken (Part 1)-The Beginning. It's quite a bit diferent than yours, with an abduction-based theme. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks.

Hi there Sydious,

I just played your level a few times and I must say that I enjoyed it. I also make scifi levels and I'm working on a pod flier game similar to this one (although I'm having up/down movement in addition to left/right). I managed to grab the #2 high score. I'm not sure how the guy who got the #1 score managed to do it because he's got twice as many points as I do!

At any rate, I noticed a couple things you should probably look into.

1) Failure: The time I lost, the pod blew up. Sackboy respawned in a dark area and I wandered around a bit. I eventually got to the floor of the level with some down jumps and suicided. I tried moving around again and found myself on the top of the level start area and restarted the level. You should have sackboy exit to a failure screen rather than leaving him to restart manually.

2) My first time playing the level I managed to break the pod when docking it at the end. I clipped my right wing on the pick-up ship. This broke something, causing the ship to flip upside down. The pick-up ship didn't grab sackboy properly and I ended up floating around with the jetpack with stars continuing to fall and no way to finish the level.

Otherwise, I couldn't find any bugs in the level so good job! I thought you put a lot of work into the intro and ending, which is great. A lot of people that make these types of levels skimp on the interface. It was good to see that you put some work into it. The race gate sticker was appreciated for second plays.

I gave it 4 stars, a heart and brilliant!

When you get a chance check out my galactic frontier level. I'm curious what you'll think. I really wish I had level two up and running so I could get you to give me feedback on it since it will be the pod flier. Oh well though, there's always next time!!!

I'm going to check out rickrock_777's level next. If I made a LBP scifi creators group here on LBP central would you guys be interested in joining? We could pass around tips/designs/creations for scifi themed levels. Just a thought.

I'd really, really love to see NO glow on the stars >..<

They're extremely distracting D:

Other than that, the level was beautiful. I had a really hard time in the briefing level; couldn't get any briefings to actually ... brief me. So I just kinda winged it, didn't have any problem.

As was said above, the enemy attack patterns are kind of stale, and it's hard to tell when they're actually damaged. Haven't made it to the end yet, stars are too distracting and I can't tell where the red plasma is xD

I liked the 'you fail' sequence, though. That was great.

Thankyou very much for your feedback.

The patterns will become more complex in next levels, as to the mission 1 level would be EASY mode and, say Level 5, would be HARD mode. It will also feature more powerfull enemy plasma orbs, Red for 1 hp, other colour for 2 hp and so.

The paint-gauge is acctually not on the enemy model, it was terribly hard to make it audible for the player but it is impossible to make the paint-gauge visible, sorry. (non paint related sounds made on the impact instead the paint-gauge sounds did not reflect getting more and more damage)

F4F on your levels is comming ASAP I did played them before and enjoyed them as well. Regards

Thankyou so much for the feedback.

Overal normal score for NORMAL play is around 5000 pts. however, when you succesully finish the level, you recieve a Mission 1 special sticker. If you play again, you can enchance your experiance by activating an EXTRA race mode and than the typical score becomes 15000 pts. It is also the only way to get the best "trophy object".

1) There is some kind of error that happens when the ship gets destroyed that i did not experiance, because you should get respawned in the re-placed spawnpoint and into the failkure screen that does exist. I will surelly have a look at this mechanism.

2) Thankyou for this info, I will make the docking bay wider. I am aware that when the ship brakes, the ending mechanis does not work properly.

my F4F on your levels is coming ASAP thankyou for playing and regards.

Sorry to say this, but the stars were deliberatelly made glowy, to be a distraction form the plasma orbs.

Well to get briefed you have to uses the yellow grab-buttons to select a lecture. and than in the Display room , just sit tight on your seet as the lecture goes on.

As mentioned : " The patterns will become more complex in next levels (...) "
and " The paint-gauge is acctually not on the enemy model (...) it is impossible to make the paint-gauge visible, sorry. "

F4F on your levels is comming ASAP. Thankyou yet again and regards.

Yeah, I did that and got around 15000 pts. I want to know how the one guy got over 20000.

I place the level entrance on a piston in my level to move it to the failure screen.

I should also add that I need to compliment you on your mechanisms for getting sackboy into/out of the ship. They are very clean and look good. I know from experience that this isn't easy.

Sounds good! I had one more comment that I forgot to mention. However, some of the comments from other players has reminded me. I thought the stars were well done to give the illusion of movement. I didn't have a problem with their glow, but I did have a problem with the ones on the front layer. I really liked the ones on the back layer. The front layer ones didn't really seem to add much to the illusion and they were really distracting.

If you mean " aneczka_pl ", well, thats my Fiancee, =D, who was the outside beta tester for the shooter segment during the whole time I was building the level. She knows the Boss' health and probably busted it to get a multiplayer, probably scored an x2 with the dual Heavy Drones as well. =)

I place the level entrance on a piston in my level to move it to the failure screen. .

I did so as well. The movement is a permanent shift status. I'm still looking into the matter, as it never happened during testing and the mechanism was built fairly before the current shooting segment.

The front layer ones didn't really seem to add much to the illusion and they were really distracting.

There are no lights that traverse on the layer. There are 2 rows of emited lights, 1st row emits small lights, 2nd, bigger and the 1st row throws the out at a certain speed opposing to the big ones that just drop on their own.

Ach, well... it worked. xD

I like the idea of the series growing in difficulty.
