Geosautus where art thou..?

Anyone know if he's still creating...?? He hasn't had a level out for months....it's a real shame if he isn't, he's an amazing creator.2009-06-12 01:41:00

Well... ya know... he did do a LOT in a relatively short period of time. He may be taking a break for a bit, or may have just gotten sick of it. I haven't done NEARLY what he's done, and I know I'm probably going to be getting back to regular playing for a bit after my next level is complete.

(not getting tired of LBP, just feeling the pressure of trying to crank out creativity)

Mmm. I always say I'm gonna take a break from it after each level, but then i go and muck around just making a random object for the next chapter the next day, and off i go again, the wheels start turning. I was in the South of France this weekend, laying on the beach thinking of how to do Han Solo in Carbonite for gods sake.2009-06-12 02:13:00

Ha I wondered where you`d disappeared to. When I saw you hadn`t logged in for over a day I figured you had swine flu or something.

Actually, to keep this on topic somewhat, I was looking through some of the first levels that I hearted. I was quite saddened to see that so many of the people that created some fantastic stuff when LBP came out hadn`t published anything new or even adjusted any of their levels for 5 or 6 months in some cases.

Tis a real shame. Those guys could be doing some real pioneering stuff by this stage.

PS. Basic metal practically IS carbonite. When I see spotlights shining through him as he thaws, I`ll be impressed.

It's true! Um!! I heard? That... His new level? It makes it so that you feel whole NEW emotions, that human beings never even HAD before.

Also? My friend knows this one guy, UM... when he was beta testing geosautus's new level? He started crying, and then laughing, and then screaming, and then moaning, and then giggling, and he couldn't handle the intensity of the new experience. and then he fell on the ground in a heap and kind of "beamed out", leaving behind only a puddle of tears and spit and peepee. Nobody knows where he went. He never came back.

I can't WAIT!!!

Wow! That's a great experience!

I heard Barak Obama bought a PS3 and LittleBigPlanet just so he could play Geosautus' levels... because after playing one a calm and collected aura settles over him, allowing him to more effectively make decisions everyday that effect the universe!

Umm.... is it ok to say that I actually enjoyed "The Movies" more than his games, or is this blasphemy?

Seriously.... I heard he got tired of making all those cool and complex levels and is settling back down to making 5 sequels to "World of Colour" where he uses eye-toy captured stickers for a more fulfilling colour experience.2009-06-12 13:38:00

By himself, I hear. That explains some of the online issues - I mean, HE'S ONLY ONE MAN, FOR GOODNESS SAKE! We shouldn't complain. We should just be glad to PLAY LittleBigPlanet, and WATCH Breaker! Breaker! (which, arguably, is the best movie ever made)

I love the direction this thread has gone to.

Anyways more on-topic I agree that his levels are masterpieces, and it's a shame he hasn't made any more recently.

Voltiare is evidently ried of LBP... and never heard of the other ones! :O

... Ok, um, joke time...

One time someone rated geosautus' level 3 stars.

That person's body was found in three separate places seconds later.

Actually, speaking of geosautus, he's in this month's issue of Game Informer. It also shows a picture of a new level, but I don't know if it's actually new or his newest level. It's in black and white.

His current favorite games are Killzone 2, Valkyria Chornoicles, and Fat Princess.

SHHH!! ...They're listening!
They have eyes and ears everywhere...

Uuuh, yeah! So, NOBODY beats Geosautus! Man, that guy! That guy, right?? You know what's the BEST? His levels, that's for sure!

I think they're going to kill you! You have to get out of here! The only way out is through the level "1279 tuper-cool prizes for yew!". It's a secret level the resistance has built - you have to collect all 1279 prizes into your profile. A door will open in your bathroom, behind the toilet. Get out now, while you can, for God's sake!

...

Nah, but seriously thanks for the kind words!

If you ask me, Mm should just offer the guy a **** job already. His levels have sold this game to people.

...

Okay, okay.

Also? I heard that he retreated to Mount Kilimanjaro, where he felled stone and tree and took them upon the peak to build a LittleBigPlanet dojo, where he is said to train those who prove themselves worthy.

So far, nobody has returned from the trek.

They say he's transcended the thermometer. That the temperature of his levels have surpassed that of the sun.

They say he recreated Final Fantasy VII in full in LittleBigPlanet, only his version is bigger, better, and has much cooler cutscenes.

One of his new levels became a sentient being. The Playstation began sparking, and then the power went out. A faint wisp of light rose up through the ceiling. They say that after that night, the Big Dipper had an extra star that was never there before.

I.... I tried to leave the house a few minutes ago... and noticed a sniper laser site on my forhead.... I ran inside!

Ok.... so, if you never hear from me again - I love you all.

Goodbye, everyo ** BLAM **

(words in the background.... "I think we got him! We've protected the secret that Geosautus may NOT actually design the most fun games once again! Ok, now let's go after that Jaeyden fellow before he releases Abyss 2 and make Geosautus look bad!")

It is sad if he is gone from LBP for good, he certainly had the best overall library of levels of any creator I've seen. That messed up thing is that half his level aren't even available anymore because they got modded or something 2009-06-13 00:09:00

I know right?? I heard that the FBI knocked down his door and forced him to delete several of his levels right in front of his kids! As he was about to hit the delete key, he really quickly went into create mode and created a series of logic gates so complex that they caused the disc to shoot out of the Playstation 3 and nailed the FBI agent in the eyes. As he was screaming in agony, Geosautus flew out the window and over the horizon. It was, perhaps, the last time he was seen.

They say that on a clear day, if you watch the sky, you might see him flying through the clouds. Where he's heading to, or what he's planning, nobody knows for sure.

Definitely my favourite creator. Although looking back at some of his earlier levels now they aren't too spectacular.

'Garden 1.1' you can tell was pretty early on, Mad Mansion had some innovative stuff in it for it's time but play it now and it isn't too special. Personally I'm not a big fan of Mystery Mine now either, it has some cool stuff in it but there's a lot better around.

However, 'The Scary Factory Overlooking The Small Village' is awesome. The ending is one of my favourite parts ever in LBP. This is in my top 5 favourite levels probably (despite having a number of ideas/contraptions took right out of the story mode).

His latest Tale of the Magnificent Ruby is another solid level. Great visuals and some nice gameplay.

While his levels individually might not be the best on offer overall, if we had to choose a creators collection to play, it would definitely be his.

P.S He's had a level that is locked for quite some time, new project probably.

I'm hoping in the not so distant future I can get to a similar number of levels published with a similar like consistancy

Geosautus is the God of LBP, one day He will return to His most faithful followers...and smite down all those who say that World of Color is overrated.

PS OMG it's jackofcourse! *bows down in reverence* I just played your Calamity Construction level for the first time ever and completely by accident. It was amazing, it COMPLETELY blew away the MM construction site level...the first time ever I actually agree with the sentiment that a user level is better than one of MM's levels.

I have to agree with you there. His earlier levels are somewhat, well, dated according to what sort of stuff are in LBP nowadays, but I still find them awesome and they give me a nostalgic feeling when I play them.

Azure Palace was the only level that really blew my mind back in the first week of LBP, as clunky as it is in comparison to the best of today...

He's one of my top 10 creators, but I honestly didn't really like geosautus until he got to his 4th or 5th level. I was more impressed by guys like Voltiare and sighwhatever in the first month the game was out. I had already put out False Idols I and II a couple weeks after launch, feeling like I was the best, when I'd found this board and the Workshop... I found so many great creators and amazing levels that no one person really seemed head and shoulders above the rest to me.

I miss those days where levels weren't perfect, but still felt amazing.

I'm still struggling with the whole "who's the best" mentality - it's like art... completely subjective. It's difficult to say who the best artist is because of the diverse talents and styles.

I personally enjoy a level that challenges me, and at the same time makes me think - which means in general I've never been drawn to the geosautus levels. They always seemed a tad to easy for me. If I'm going to play a game, I want to ACTUALLY play a game.

Just played Mad Mansion and the Gardens again...wow how they are dated now.

It's incredible how we looked upon those levels as the very best at one time. It's amazing to look back and see how things have moved on from then.

I think he's going to have to resign from being my favourite creator after this little insight. Scary Factory and Tale of the Magnificent Ruby are still two of my favrouites, but the others do feel extremely dated now. He needs another level out and fast if he wishes to stay so close to my heart

Geosautus for life!!!! Along with you and mrsupercomputer, geosautus in my top 3 creators list. Another thing I noticed was that he hearted one wexfordian's new level which tells me he has been playing recently and he might actually reveal that new level he has kept locked for so many months.

And as for his some of his levels being outdated, alot of us were creating ramp quality levels when he made those.... So they definetly deserve some respect.
