Haven`t played it yet, though I will. Sell th elevel to us though. Tell us what to expect so maybe more people will have a go. If you`re a fan of Pacman, have a go at the Pacman level by Julesyjules (the Star Wars...etc guy). Twas his first level, and it`s fantastic. A fitting tribute. | 2009-06-11 01:10:00 Author: Matt 82 Posts: 1096 |
Hmm, sounds interesting! I'll edit this post after I get to play it. | 2009-06-11 04:27:00 Author: tjb0607 Posts: 1054 |
I checked it out last night and the idea is a cool one. I think your ghosts are funny and the maze is a pretty good replica of the original pac man one. Couple of suggestions: - It's really dark. Could you put some lights in it or lighten the level a bit. It's a video game level so bright lights could liven it up a bit. - I was a little frustrated at the camera. I couldn't see where I was flying sometimes and got broadsided by the ghosts. Could you put a camera on the level that pulls the camera back to reveal more of the maze at once. I think that would help. It's a cute level and I think the best part are the ghosts! Thanks for sharing it. | 2009-06-16 01:41:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Just played it, and it was fun! A very recognisable tribute to pacman. I was disappointed not to gain the ability to eat the ghosts though. I was expecting to find the power pills in the corners but there are just the object bubbles. How about you put stickers there, and then the stickers can be used to kill the ghosts via sticker switches? btw I got the 2nd from top score! second only to total own the creator yay! PLS F4F my lvl in return. Link below. cheers! | 2009-06-16 09:00:00 Author: chillum007 Posts: 228 |

I haven't tried any PacMan Tributes yet, but does this or any other PacMan Tribute actually have AI ghosts flying around? If not, I might take a shot at it. And I'll be playing this level later today and tell you what I think. | 2009-06-16 10:41:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |

It would be difficult to have ai flying ghosts but it would be possible just need some cunning use of switches I have a basic idea of how I'm going to do it, and I've been looking at the different behaviors of the ghosts (http://www.webpacman.com/ghosts.html) to see how they should be implemented. | 2009-06-16 17:29:00 Author: BSprague Posts: 2325 |
This level would have been really cool if you had put a little more effort on the ghosts. Their path is just too simple. If you had made them wander around and turn whenever they ran into a wall, it would have been more challenging and more enjoyable. I understand that it's just a tribute however. If you have the Metal Gear pack, I recommend converting all of those walls into Blue VR Metal. That's a very awesome logo and the concept was good. It was a pretty level. -F4F: JerkBall | 2009-06-17 07:04:00 Author: navy_flip Posts: 19 |
Hi TotalOwn36. I added this level to my list of plays, when after I read what you said in the comments section of my Takken level. So, I'm hoping we can do the F4F thingy here, if you wouldn't mind. My take: If you've read any of my posts, you are probably aware of the fact that I love to explore...so I explored your level. I actually played it from the Exit at the scoreboard, back to the beginning, and was able to get 2nd place...please forgive me for cheating. This made the level a little more challenging, as I could only see shadows of the moving enemies above me, as I was going up some of the corridors, and I got bitten once, before I noticed the shadows that is. I did enjoy it. There are a couple of things I would suggest, though, to give the level a bit more of the SacMan feel. 1. A few more enemies would be good. I would also vary their rate of speed, and have some of them move both side-to-side and up-and-down (multipath enemies will require more precision with your piston timing, as you'll need 2 pistons on an enemy to accomplish this, but that would be a great opportunity for learning). 2. I did notice an area that was not completely stickered...it was close to the middle of the maze. 3. Possibly consider changing the color in different sections of the maze, to match the color of the enemy. This would create another level of challenge, as the enemies would be a little more difficult to see. 4. Your music perimeter was set so that it started when Sacky entered the maze. If you don't wall up the boundaries of the maze, others may try what I did, and there is no music until you hit the entrance. I'm not saying you need to create a boundary, but setting the music perimeter to encompass the exit as well will ensure "music for everyone". I had some fun with this level.
