Monkey Island series

Do I need to write more? And I've not even played them. I've seen them and I know very well what it's about. It's a point and click funny adventure starring Guybrush Threepwood...right? Anyways when the remake of the first hits XBLA I'm getting into this series.2009-06-10 21:54:00

I've tried these games but sadly i don't think i have the patience for them xD

Most of the time i found i was just clicking each screen randomly hoping that i'd find something that would help me to progress, but it just took way too long to get anywhere		2009-06-10 22:10:00

Yes, also there is a new one coming up which will be released in a monthly-episode basis (like Sam & Max) first one will be released in July, I believe.

Monkey Island is one of those games that greatly influenced my life!!

My first encounter with Monkey Island was part III, curse of monkey island.
The beatiful artstyle blew me away at that point in time.
This is the moment when I fell in love with Monkey Island:

I then moved on to the 2 classics and the eventual sequel.
I did not care for Monkey Island 4 at all.
They dropped the gorgous visuals and mouse interface for keyboard controls and ugly 3d graphics.

I will certainly be buying the special edition when it comes out but I'm not sure about the episode based adventures.
I hate what they did to the graphics once more. (is it so hard to make a nicelooking 3d lechuck??)

Monkey Islands I-III were amazing. IV deserves to be wiped off of the face of the Earth.

III was the best...especially with all the references to I and II. Having your head pop out of the crypt and into the old game-style forest...simply amazing...		2009-06-11 12:47:00

Monkey Island is the reason why I love games so much now...because deep down, I still hope that one day someone will make a game as good as Monkey Island 3. One day...

One and two were far better than 3 in my opinion. But then again, I'm old and remember these games as new releases. I never played 4 as I think it was just so canned that no one bothered to stock it. :S

It's a shame that it would be going to 360 though, the remakes and episodic content. Not that I hate Microsoft or that system, but it's the only modern console that I do not have actively working at the moment (that and the PSP).

Still though, the originals were classics. Such deep and well thought out humour can be hard to find now a days. 		2009-06-13 06:49:00

What? I loved the 4th one, but obviously 3rd was better, Never got around to playing 1 and 2 though. I especially loved the part where you go monkey-to-monkey in a brawl.

1 and 2 were by far the best, never played 4 becuase I think they should have let a good thing die in peace.

speaking of die in peace, the only game better than Monkey Island is Grim Fandango. Any point and click fan needs to play this game		2009-06-15 23:20:00
