MANUAL thoughts...

So, I may be alone here, but I've always loved the fact that a good game usually comes with a killer manual too - the MGS series being a standout, with mini-comic style design etc. Do you think it's too much to hope that the MM team will have put together a wicked little booklet? Would love to think that they've viewed even the manual as a customisable element of the LBP world! What do you guys think? | 2008-09-02 13:33:00 Author: mrbobbyboy Posts: 304 |
I have thought abou this also, I really hope so, they have had games that had a less diverse 'Create' mode before and had a game manual and a build manual. (Like Neverwinter Nights). I really hope that they have one. | 2008-09-02 14:39:00 Author: trialaccess Posts: 101 |
I think this game would benefit greatly if they included a cool little manual with it. I love manuals personally and i can only imagine how fun they could make one for this game. | 2008-09-02 15:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yeah - there's such a creative spirit behind the project it'd be a shame if they don't pile some of that energy into the supporting booklet! | 2008-09-02 15:11:00 Author: mrbobbyboy Posts: 304 |

Man, you have some cool ideas =D I, personally, would love Media Molecule to come up with something really cool and creative for the instruction booklet; I love reading them! I don't think I've purchased a game and haven't read the instructions before | 2008-09-02 16:55:00 Author: Unknown User |
No doubt the edges will be plastered with stickers | 2008-09-02 16:56:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
I'm hoping it'll ship with removable stickers in the booklet! | 2008-09-02 16:58:00 Author: mrbobbyboy Posts: 304 |
^ I was about to say the same thing, but then I thought that they might not since they're already giving away free sticker books as part of the pre-order gifts. | 2008-09-02 18:08:00 Author: Unknown User |

What would be cool is if the booklet was thick & fat, they could do a little flickerbook animation at the bottom of the pages with Sackboy I'd be very impressed with that. | 2008-09-02 21:37:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
I think the manual will be good but I think there is great potential for a really good aftermarket guide not only to game play but I'm sure a seperate one specific to level creation as well. Cheers QuozL | 2008-09-02 21:38:00 Author: QuozL Posts: 921 |

Hence the creators manual preorder gift Unfortunately we don't get the pre order gifts here, so hopefully it will be available for sale later as well. I'd be interested to know how comprehensive it would be as well, I was thinking more along the lines of the MGS4 hardcover guide. Cheers QuozL | 2008-09-02 21:45:00 Author: QuozL Posts: 921 |

They will probably have a really cool little manual. This game has so many customization options that it would be a crime not to have one! | 2008-09-02 21:56:00 Author: Code1337 Posts: 3476 |

I think that game manuals should be a picture of the controls and the warnings... As a teenager you should be able to pic up a game and know how to use it within 20 minutes... Manuals are for old people... that includes manuals for defibulators... CLEAR!!! | 2008-09-03 01:17:00 Author: 12454522412412 Posts: 779 |
Anyone in the UK got the latest copy of EDGE magazine? It has a very interesting articule on game manuals. As to what LBP's manual shoud be I think it would fit the feel of the game with a custom manual with little stickers but since there is a sticker album as a pre order exclusive it won't happen. | 2008-09-03 15:53:00 Author: LittleBigChav Posts: 175 |

Yeah, it was the EDGE article that inspired my thoughts! Really, the whole packaging should back up the game ... pages of the manual made from WOOD ... METAL ... DARK MATTER ... | 2008-09-03 19:10:00 Author: mrbobbyboy Posts: 304 |

I would love to see the game ship in a fancy cardboard box though. But maybe thats my lvoe of cardboard showing through there. | 2008-09-04 13:28:00 Author: Unknown User |
If they can do a burlap sack special package I don't know why they couldn't do a nice corrugated card sleeve! That'd be easy! | 2008-09-04 13:32:00 Author: mrbobbyboy Posts: 304 |
While you guys are all orgasming over an awesome manual, I think it would be a better idea if the spent more time on the actual game | 2008-09-07 18:59:00 Author: GuyWithNoEyes Posts: 1100 |
While you guys are all orgasming over an awesome manual, I think it would be a better idea if the spent more time on the actual game Well, you DO have to do something during that drive home... | 2008-09-07 20:01:00 Author: bbroman Posts: 1374 |
Well, you DO have to do something during that drive home... AND while the game's installing. I make a point of reading the manual anyhow.. | 2008-09-07 20:04:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
Well, you DO have to do something during that drive home... Look at the cover in all it's awesomeness for 7 minutes. That's what I did with MGS4 (No Joke!) | 2008-09-07 20:14:00 Author: GuyWithNoEyes Posts: 1100 |
I bought Vegas 2 when I was in america (Im English) and I spent a long time reading the manual. It didnt turn out very good but it looked good in the manual. | 2008-09-07 20:20:00 Author: moleynator Posts: 2914 |
