Expanding sticker effect on eyes

Archive: 9 posts

I've been asked how I made the fish, starfish and seahorses grow in my Aquarium Adventure level (soon to be renamed).

Its really very simple but placement can at times be a little tricky.

It can only be done with the 3D stickers.

1. apply eye to dark matter (this step if you want to enlarge dark matter and the sticker). If you want it to stay about the same size just attach eye to surface.

2. place the sticker on the center of eye. Be sure the iris is NOT expanded.

If you got the sticker exactly on the iris, when you pass the eye it will expand (grow) the sticker.

Different parts of the eye and surrounding area produces different effects.

Hope this has been helpful. If you have any questions please post here. Thanks.

Ahhhh... so it's the eye. Who would've guessed. I new that you could make the stickers wiggle by putting them on the eyelid, but didn't know about the object scaling.

This adds some more dimention to LBP that I wasn't expecting, VERY cool find LL777. Thanks alot. Can't wait to try this out! :hero:

I remember people talking about this a few weeks ago I think...they figured out what it was...but I'll be sure to experiment when I get my ps3 back next week!!!2009-06-07 23:43:00

Thanks Lady_Luck__777 for sharing this information.

I also noticed that after you published your Aquarium level the first week of April, that it wasn't long before new levels began appearing which used the sticker on the eyeball technique. But the 3D sticker on the pupil was a somewhat illusive technique until very recently. I think the ability of the sticker to grow as the pupil enlarges is a great find on your part.

Keep experimenting, especially with your glitched glitches.!

I remember I found a similar effect (decorations that follow player) when I was experimenting, I then published a level with it in, then a week later it had about 50 plays and loads of comments saying "You copied the Dragon Rider level with the masks!". I was so angry i broke my PS3 charger cable thing . But back to the point :hero:, excellent find! I always wondered how you did that in your aquarium level.2009-06-08 16:53:00

I agree this was an interesting find High Voltage. My wife, Lady_Luck__777, spends many hours just experimenting with everything in the popit. And I feel your pain regarding the Dragon Rider copying issue. Which reminds me, have you played my wife's Temple Of The Dragons, which was published back in February. You may find it is a very interesting level concept.

Here is a link to the Level Thread I created for her on LittleBigWorkshop for Aquarium Adventure back in April when she published http://forums.littlebigworkshop.com/lbp/board/message?board.id=promozone&message.id=21993&query.id=8676#M21993 . I mentioned the brilliant use of 3D stickers in this thread, and it drew a lot of attention at that site, and later on at others, and she became very popular on LBP as well.

I'm glad she created this thread explaining exactly how to get the stickers to enlarge, so everyone who is interested will know how to do this.
