Shadow of the Colossus DLC!

Coming to LittleBigPlanet next week is some new Shadow of the Colossus DLC (http://www.mediamolecule.com/2009/06/05/shadow-of-the-colossus-teaser/). Not much is known about it, but we can gather that it comes with new costumes, materials, and stickers. Will it come with levels? We don't know at this point, but we do have a new teaser video to whet your appetite. Enjoy!

I've never seen the game, so I have no real opinion. That being said, I always welcome new DLC as long as it's not chincy looking like penguins and Valentine's day packs. This looks interesting, so I may pick it up once I see more details.2009-06-05 19:15:00

Seems they are taking bits and pieces from all Team Ico games.

Oh how I hope this is a level pack!! Judging by the teaser it looks like just stickers & costumes though.

I'm 90% sure this is going to be stickers and costumes. Which I don't usually buy, but for Team Ico content, I'd skin my first born and cook him for Canada Day.

Although, they don't usually tease costume/sticker packs this much do they? Maybe it's because Team ICO games have such a cult following?

I'm generally opposed to micro-transaction DLC. I think DLC should be free for games. I think, as it is, $60 for a game is ridiculous.

Meh, I'm not very excited about this. The costume is only a headpiece and a skin but this must appeal to SotC fans. Hopefully it's more than just stickers and a costume(s), I would even be pleased with new decorations.2009-06-06 05:48:00

Games here cost about 60 euro. A ticket to a movie costs about 8 euro. A movie lasts roughly two hours, while I've played LBP for about 300 hours. That seems like pretty good quality to me.		2009-06-06 13:56:00

What source makes you think there are sound effects?? Media Molecule doesn't mention or hint at that. It's only the usual costumes + stickers.

It's the same DLC. I think it's both games. You'll get 2 other costumes that are probably SOTC related.

Well the stickers in the background look about as good as the Norse and Egyptian ones i.e. crap.

I don't really want them or the costumes but I do want the new sounds.

I'm guessing I won't be able to have them without buying the costumes and stickers though so probably won't bother. I'll wait and see whether they're worth getting or not first as hopefully someone will list the contents as usual.

New speaker sounds should be something MM put in updates for free as the original set of sounds were sorely lacking anyway.		2009-06-08 18:57:00

You are kidding me right? Prices went down when the Canadian dollar did reach parity last year. Looks like they re-adjusted themselves!
What a bunch of crooks, they can even pull out the "it's the economic crisis" in order to sound fair. What a load of bullcrap.

Oh well, apparently I need to buy less games when I look at my ever growing backlog of purchased games. Looks like i'll have one more incitative to buy less!

Really, really what the sound effects, though. I've been longing for new wind sounds, that stone collapse sound and the windmill might be useful too.

Edit: No, the above is not true. I just played a showcase level and I don't really need anything of it. There is really only a minimal difference between what we have now and those.

Give the creators some more things they can work with MM. You can't build with stickers or costumes. If you want to sell stickers sell some more basic colour ones in different shapes (though you might be to late for that). I can't build with costumes. I don't need sound objects that sound like the ones we have if we alter them a bit in the options.

I went in to check it out, but the clerk I asked said they don't have pre-paid credit cards... only the regular ones you have to apply for. Eh... I love ICO and SotC, but I pretty much feel like I paid $6 for a handful of sounds that might come in handy sometime. A song would have at least done the trick.

Another rip... but they have no reason to release full fledged level packs like MGS when they can charge just as much for something that costs them far less money to produce. They did throw us a couple bones with the creator pack, but I don't predict any change in the lucrative gameplan any time soon. I was actually looking forward to this DLC. I absolutely adored Ico, especially the music. I'm a bit disappointed that there's no music track. And like mistervista and a few others have said, the new sounds may be okay, but not enough to warrant the price.2009-06-12 20:09:00

Well here's some garbage luck for ya' ... or rather, me, as it were. I was checking out the PS store with my buddy while discussing and explaining how DLC for the game works, and I clicked on the new pack from the New Release category to show him an example. He's been watching me create on and off for the past month and is totally blown away by the game mechanics and creative power in our hands, even though he's not a gamer himself. I'm currently using his credit card to purchase stuff, as Sony won't accept mine without this stupid new AVS system. Anyways, so I'm explaining that this is the new content and that it's not getting good feedback and that it's kind of a rip-off for the price etc. etc.

He keeps saying, "So get it anyways... it's a few new sounds you can use even if the others suck and you already have them." Then he proceeds to grab the controller and hits the buy now button.

Cut to slow-mo of me as my eyes widen and my mouth drops... "NOOOOOOOOOooooooooo.... !!!"

So now I own it... no refunds! I was pretty ticked as you can guess, and worse.... I only had a couple of bucks left in my wallet after buying other DLC. The upside is that he said he wouldn't bother collecting the five bucks to put on his credit card from me, as it was his own doing.

Sorry... long story to get me here. --> After hearing the sounds in person, there are definitely a few that are good and will find their way into my levels. Most however, are so similar to other sounds we already have it's both astonishing and pathetic.

I still stand by my original point of view, and would say that unless you have money to throw around (or away), I wouldn't even bother with this new pack. That or if you are a hardcore fan of the original game costumes. If you've got the cash though... those few sounds are pretty good and will certainly add some ambience to your levels.		2009-06-12 22:05:00

Yes I am a bit deceived that most sound actually are sound we have by default but just with a different mastering. An example of this are the "Impact" ones. Common, this sounds like the one we have by default but with some reverb applied...

Completely!! I can't understand why they aren't breaking costumes up into finer categories for us to use? If they are going to charge this kind of money for costumes, give us more options and ways to use them.... it's pretty obvious that that's what people are doing with them... creating their own costumes out of them.
