PS3 Network - White Dot beside my Avatar, what is it?

| What does the white dot beside my avatar in my friends list indicate? I have been playing MGS4 for the first time today and tonight when leaving the game I noticed a white dot beside my avatar picture in the friends list, I went in and checked my trophies list but there is nothing in there though it does say Level 1 whatever that means.
