Well ****, that was unexpected.

I don't find it surprising at all that there's official content from Disney. I'm fairly confident that there will eventually be tons of official content available for purchase from loads of brands. What better way to advertise your products, especially if LBP is the success story it seems to be destined to be.

Also, I'd guess Media Molecule is eager to provide tools for third parties to create their own official content to the game for sale, as it boosts the appeal of the game considerably.		2008-09-01 19:28:00

Would be cool if some of the best level creators were allowed to use some sort of a 'Disney kit' to make Disney levels (which eventually would have to be approved by Disney of course) that were distributed for free. Dunno if the best designers were interested in doing that, but if they were, it would be a nice reward for being a good designer.2008-09-01 20:12:00

MM won't own the copyright for the Disney content, they will license the brands or Disney themselves will create and sell and get the profits for all Disney content in the game. Remains to be seen. Regardless, my guess is that the Disney content will just be disney-themed levels or some very generic Magic Kingdom theme for the creator. I doubt MM will be allowed to make full on Disney levels without quality assurance from some Disney representative. It would be detrimental for the disney brand if everyone was allowed to make all sorts of Disney themed levels without much moderation.2008-09-01 20:20:00

Guys, guys guys. Don't get ahead of yourselves, pretty sure it was just using Disney as an example of the possibility for endorsed content. I doubt anything is in the works now, though it would be great. I mean there's Disney Singstar coming out, but that's taken years since release. If it is coming it's a long way off, and we'll probably see intra-Sony DLC first e.g. Ratchet and Clank2008-09-02 03:11:00

I like the idea of Disney stuff and since they are wanting to become one of the main game makers I can see them doing this because it would push Disney stuff out to a large audience. Look how they worked with square enix already so this does not seem to unlikely. Now I would really like to see some Star Wars stuff also, imagine Darth Sackboy, LOL.2008-09-02 05:30:00
