New PS3 Motion Sensing Controller with LBP

Archive: 7 posts

I know it's still very early to say, but wouldn't it be cool if Sony's new Motion Controller could be used in a "mouse-like pointer" way for the LBP create mode? Also maybe integrating drawing and painting with this new add-on as well as 3d shape molding!
Apparently the accuracy of the device is amazing, at a perfect 1:1 replication, Imagine it's potential for LBP!!!

Mm, we know you can do it

After seeing how lousy the EyeCam is with detection on something as simple as the Aquatopia game, and considering that it's barely a year old... I don't have much faith that Sony will produce anything close to being as good as they will hype it.

Cool idea though.

That video looks fairly impressive... but I still reserve judgement on just how accurate the motion tracking will be in it's responsiveness. The first person stuff is cool looking.... especially the archery bit at the end.2009-06-04 00:54:00

I really don't see how that would work with LBP at all.2009-06-04 03:34:00

Personally, I'm very optimistic about it. If it could be used to write on a virtual wall, it should be able to paint on a virtual wall as well! Imagine being able to paint and draw in Little Big Planet Also, as I understand it, it can be used as a pointer, so maybe it can even be used to move things around and edit them as if you were moving them by hand (or by wand? ). Could potentially be a good substitute to mouse integration while still keeping it accessible to kids and still keeping the "gaming console" and gaming feel of the IP.
