How to remove gas?

Archive: 6 posts

That's sorta my question, how to remove gas from a level?(I mean you create something that removes gas in play mode) Because it sorta can get in the way when you have advanced creatures with gas in 'em... (with advanced I mean they have to use dissolve material instead of creature brains) I know you can use pistons, but that's really a lot of work for what I've got in mind... I also don't want to throw a huge block at it so you can't hit it, because that'd pretty much be unexplainable in my level... Any help/suggestions?2009-06-02 19:43:00

he, I just tried gassifying some dissolve and the wire goes red. So that's out.

is there a reason you don't want to use creature brains?

Hmmm.... The only way I've ever been able to do it is to have a brain or pull it out with a piston....2009-06-02 20:03:00

I dunno, but creature brains never seem to work the way I want 'em to work... 2009-06-02 20:07:00

Does the creature have to move? Even so, you could aways attach some dissolve to the top of the gas - then attach the dissolve to an invisible piston, rod or elastic and then let it spring up......2009-06-02 20:29:00

Sounds like a plan Coxy. I'd go for a chain so that if the creature is moving, it won't be restricted. Connect the gas to a block of dark matter out of sight. Set the chain to min = 0, max = waaaay greater than range of creature, speed = 0.1. Put a magnetic switch on the gas, set to directional and a key on the creature.

You probably don't have to worry about the gass moving through sackboy as the engine is rubbish at collision detection at such high speeds.
